[Q] Stock 2.1 for Fascinate? (Im New) - Fascinate General

Hi guys im new to the forums. Im wondering if theres a fully working STOCK 2.1 Rom for my Samsung Fascinate?
Also If there is one can I revert back to stock so I can get the official 2.2 If I need to?
Thank You in advance!!!!!

I only resource I have is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782204

Don't mean to be rude here, Sherwood, but did you take any time to look at the other topics, before you posted this one?

Yeah I did but none look fully stock....they all seem to add a few things to "sweeten the rom". I just want stock.

Incase I wasnt clear I meant stock Android 2.1..........not Touchwiz stock 2.1. Touchwiz is sooooooooooo slow and crappy!!
I installed launcherpro with the widgets. But it kills me knowing touchwiz is still running.

Stock, is what comes with the phone... why do anything, if you want stock?
Now if your talking about AOSP (Just plain google rom) then NO. There is no AOSP rom, as of right now. There are a few people working on it though.
Check the irc chat room (#samsung-fascinate) on freenode, for more information.
Hope this helps,
Samuel

Can I remove all of Sense UI?

Hey guys, sorry for the n00b question, but after searching briefly, I couldn't find it anywhere else on the Hero forums. I am running Damageless non-expresso, and I wanted to know: Is there a way for me to remove ALL of sense ui? If HTC made it, I don't want it. I know, I know, should have gotten the moment, but I don't trust hardware keyboards after 3 terrible experiences with the Touch Pro. I have already found out how to get rid of Sense UI, but the thread said that it left "the HTC Dialer and HTC Customizations." I just want stock android 2.1 with the .29 kernel. What can I do? Is there another ROM I can get instead? Thanks.
Get Darch's AOSP ROM. I don't know if it has the latest kernel yet, but it is Sense-free.
Thanks, but...

Is there then a way for me to update the ROM to get the Camera working?

I think darch ran into some problems with the .29 kernel. either wait for him to give it a shot or take a stab at getting it going. Stripping sense out of a Rom would be a total pain to do at best.
Okay.
Thanks for the help and info. Will do.

Fastest stock froyo kernel

Suggestion box didn't come up with anything relevant. Basically just rooted my Evo, running stock 2.2 and want the fastest kernel without flashing a custom ROM - I actually like Sense on a phone that's fast enough to handle it. On my Hero it was awful and CM6 helped tons - on the Evo I'd like to keep it.
Can anyone offer any help? Currently running the usual 1147 quadrant score. Over 1500 would be awesome.
Bump before bed.
Just do some research tons I mean tons of info in the Dev section go have a read
from the fade
Well.. I've tried that. I can't find anything in plain English that says "This is for stock Evo" or "This is sense based and will keep all of your nice widgets". That's why I asked the question.
Dont know if its the fastest, but i Run this on my rooted stock EVO..

It's cool. Basically you want a kernel that works on Sense ROMs. There are a lot of them out there. Installing a new kernel won't affect your launcher or widgets as long as it is compatible with Sense.
Honestly the easiest thing to do is to install a different ROM that comes with an improved kernel. There are lots of Sense ROMs out there such as Baked Snack. They come with their own kernel and are tested and optimized to work together.
edit: and yes, netarchy's kernel posted above is a fine example. Flashing that kernel from recovery will improve your performance but once again, if you are running a rooted ROM you may already have a good custom kernel installed.

[Q] Need help - Go bone stock or flash newer ROM for my friend?

My friend bought an Eris that was pre-rooted and had a Vanilla 2.2 installed on it. Is it easier to get her back to 2.1 stock, or to something more reliable like KaosFroyo? If I need to go bone stock, how do I do it? If I need to do Kaos, how do I do that? Thanks in advance.
Play around with all of them, that's part of the fun of having a rooted phone. You'll get better battery life out of a Froyo Rom. My personal favorites are the new Tazz Floyo and FroShed Roms, but If she wants SenseUI the best one out there is probably xtrSense4.6 as far as reliability and performance. You can flash one, have her try it out for a day, flash another the next day, then let her decide. It's not too hard to do, and it's not permanent so she can always change her mind down the road.

reliable is what you make of it stock is less reliable for some... but, many of the Froyo ROMs are very solid and polished... and may be "nicer" for your friend.
as for the "how" ... read the "how to properly flash a ROM" thread... it will walk you through the process. there are a few "stock" ROMs around (including my "official 2.1 ROM" in sig below).
so many good options available to us Eris users... you can't really go wrong!
I'm hoping that once the 2.2 Sense roms get everything working that Team ADX will include it and I can switch between CM / AOSP and Sense at will.
Then I'll have a sports car (CM / AOSP) and a Cadillac (Sense)

[REQ] Legend to Slide Froyo AND sense?

Since the HTC legend recently got Android 2.2 Froyo w/ sense, is there going to be someone to port the rom to the Slide?
I love the functionality of sense but I don't want to have to downgrade to eclair to get it.
So if anybody knows about work being done on that or if someone wants to volunteer, please inform me and anyone else who passes by this thread
Its gonna have the same problems as the 3rd sense rom because we don't have the official 2.2 kernel for mytouch slide! Which means I don't think anyone is going to port it! Check out 3rd sense though its stable enough and is the same sense ui

yep, and actually i think 3rd sense is based on a froyo sense rom for the legend called gratiend so thats your rom right there, at least thats what the credits on the thread say..
I am currently running cyanogen mod 6.1 stable for my slide with clockwork recovery. Do I need to flash/install anything else before flashing this rom?

Nope, all you need to do is a wipe before installing it so you dont get any weird errors
Okay thanks I will flash it, froyo aside, are there any REALLY good stable sense roms out there? Not espresso roms but original HTC sense? flash would be nice

Oh man it works amazingly, I had to disable javascript for the browser to run alright though. Otherwise it is an amazing rom. I ran into some less than polite stuff when I posted in the thread, but I suppose I am a noob. Thanks for the suggestion.

Doesn't look like he's rooted. You can't just install Sense 3.0 like you install Launcher Pro.

Nope, but give this one a try: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.moo.android.inputmethod.latin.free
I just rooted my phone today and flashed a rom with sense 3.0. It's pretty awesome, i think i am gonna stick with it for a while.
If you are not rooted, please do give it a try. Just make sure you make the appropriate backups.

Guys please search a bit on the forums. You can find the custom roms in the android development forum
Also yes sense 3 roms are gingerbread.
Now, since they are mostly.experimental, do some research first, get to know some android terms (like nandroid ,clockworkmod, fastboot, adb ,RUU etc) read all of the stickies and then go flashing a rom. What's important when flashing roms/radio/recoveries/bootloaders is to understand what you are doing before doing it. If you do it that way, there are high chances your device won't end as a decorative rock/brick on a bookshelf
Also this is not the correct section

Yes, the guy is correct. Reading up is very important.
You could try one with 3.0 mods, 3.0 lockscreen, weather etc.
The rom that i am on now is InsertCoin, stable build. Very stable, and it's on gingerbread. I highly recommend it.
