also will x10 2.1 support adobe flash ?

lol.. if mediascape on par, that doesn't make much of a difference.. but looking thru some of the functions, it seems to do what mediascape could already do huh..
as for flash.. there's a flash for 2.1. google it. not sure how well it'll work tho

It really whips the llama's ass.

I believe flash on 2.1 would be useless, with out the hefty speed increase that froyo brings to the party flash would be Sooooo slow

It depends on the flash content not just the fact that it is flash. Also there was a post on the x10 blog claiming that due to the lack of multi touch if the x10 were to get 2.2 (which I doubt will ever happen officially) flash on the x10 wouldn't be supported by Adobe.

Does mediascape do playlist sync over wifi or have lockscreen controls? Also there is no full flash for 2.1. There is flash lite that you can install on non flash lite phones. Flash lite isn't useful for much more than ads. Even if there was the performance on 2.1 would be horrible.

ABSOLUTELY love the seamless wireless sync and layout of this app. A nice companion with Mediascape.

New Youtube App

Don't know if this has been posted, but there's a new official YouTube app on the market and it's leaps and bounds better than the old one. Definitely worth the update.

I am stock...anyone know how to get the upgrade...I am on version 1.6.21
Edit: never mind....even though it's a pre-installed app and doesn't show in Market as a downloaded app (and thus no upgrade notification is available), you just go into Market, search for Google Youtube and install it like a new app. The pre-installed app will be upgraded.

You would think that if you searched for YouTube which is owned by Google, on the Market, which is also owned by Google, it would be the first one listed. Nope, it is the 9th.
Does anyone have youtube 1.6 apk. The new youtube 2.0 is nice but doesn't let me use youtube ripper. Thanks
new UI is nice but it still sucks at streaming with Froyo... constantly getting "There was a problem playing the video"

Just updated now...lovely UI, I like that you can just swipe left/right to view other tabs while video plays. HQ seems more, well, HQ too.

Much better!! Before I couldnt watch half of the videos. Now everything plays and I'm not waiting on buffering either. I am overclocked so that may help with it not buffering...

...... that's because Flash doesn't work on 2.1.
Period.
We have Flash Lite but that doesn't really count.

it does work... so does search... lookie here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792231
Flash through skyfire is not the same as flash on the device. Skyfire converts flash video server side so games will not work, only video.
Flash on 2.1 does not work on the epic. Even if you install it, it uses flash lite.
Nobody has ever shown me proof that it works. If I'm wrong I would love to be proven wrong though.

We will have to wait for froyo for flash. Bo real flash on 2.1 . Skyfire doesn not count they just convert flash video on their servers into playable format. And hulu has them blocked:-(

That's weird. I just played some flash games no problem when I couldn't before. Maybe it will
work if only flash 9 is required but not 10.1
I'll fully admit I was wrong in my initial reply. So flash is working, flash 10.1 is not. This means some things will work fine, some will not.

Well that would be because in android phone mode it compresses everything down so small to make things more legible.
While in desktop mode it's meant to give you a full and rich desktop like experience. It's supposed to include flash content in this mode.

The thing that sucks is all the sites blocking mobile flash player. Hulu, nbc, foxsports, tons of sites detect which version of flash you are using and block their content. People that are getting the google tv's are experiencing this too. So far, everything I would have used flash for, I haven't been able to anyway.

2.1 sucks

Well I have to say, although 2.1 looks pretty, has hd video recording and live wallpaper, gor me it's blighted by the poor audio performance. With 1.6 I could happily run copilot and play mp3s with absolutely no glitches. This is important for me as I do a lot of driving, sometimes over 1000 miles in a week!
Please can somebody help me downgrade to the last o2 1.6?

Glitches? I dont got no problems whatsoever, i suggest flashing the custom AOSP 2.1 firmware, before getting back to the outdated 1.6 and if you dont use Timescape, you can uninstall it for faster performance and JIT is also helpful

How did you upgrade? Did you go from an x10a device to x10i (Nordic)? I went from the x10 AT&T handset to the unbranded LAM 1.6 and then to the Nordic x10 2.1 and had issues. I went back to the LAM 1.6 when that version's update was out and updated using SEUS. It was so much smoother than the Nordic 2.1. I don't know if it had to do with going from x10a to an x10i firmware or what, but 2.1 works great for me now.
I updated via seus and have the o2 uk firmware build 2.0.A.0.504.
I have flashed twice now, and the problem persists. It makes little difference wether I use google navigation or copilot (which is well worth the money btw), or spotify or mediascape.
With the 1.6 firmware though, it was faultless.

CoPilot works great for me with 2.1
Its the same with google navigation so I don't think its a copilot issue. Both the nav apps work fine, but both affect the audio, with lots of stuttering.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Just to add, the reason I paid for copilot rather than use the free google nav is that I drive a lot in areas of poor signal, and copilot stores its maps locally.

Oh and for the record, I get more skipping when multi tasking with 2.1 than I did with 1.6.

Skype For Android Gets Video

Awesome news! I wonder if it will have the sideways video issue of other video chat apps.
Skype For Android Gets Video
Widespread 3G and cheap Wi-Fi routers have made video calling popular. This has helped applications such as Fring get millions of users in very little time. To catch up with the competition, Skype has now released its version 2.0, capable of video chat for Android.
Right now, Skype 2.0 will only work on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) devices with front-facing cameras. The list of compatible devices includes the HTC Desire S, Sony Ericsson Xperia neo, Sony Ericsson Xperia pro, and the Google Nexus S. The company is also working on a plan to cover devices that have currently been left out. The application will work with Wi-Fi as well as 3G. It reportedly supports PC-to-mobile calls, which gives it an edge over the competition. According to Skype, the app also features a completely revamped UI.
If you happen to have a Gingerbread device, download Skype 2.0 here (see original article for link) . Otherwise, check out the following video.

i think the reason the Epic is not on there, is that GB has not been released for it yet, just like with Netflix
And just like with Netflix, I thought someone that is running the GB leak may want to test this out
Who knows, it may work on the leak, but we won't know until someone tests it.
I am still on SRF 1.1.0, otherwise I would try it myself, as I have been waiting for this for a while!
Got excited and tried it, no dice on video, no options anywhere for it. Wondering if the apk that get loaded from the market is different if you have a supported device.
