[Q] Development versus Nexus 5

So I am on Sprint(and plan on staying with Sprint), and am finally upgrading from my OG Photon. I was planning on getting the G2, but the N5 on Sprint "would" have been the nail in the coffin for that idea. However, Sprint went and only subsidized the 16GB version, instead of offering the 32GB version. I don't know how I feel about that, so I have a few qestions on G2's development.
1. Firstly, is the G2's bootloader unlockable CURRENTLY? I saw yes, but I was reading on here a few days back and someone said the newer firmware is unrootable, and I'd assume the Sprint variant ships preupdated.
2. How is development for the G2, specifically CDMA variants? As in, "how fast will 4.4 be ported?" I understand people that say "it's only been out for days, have patience, etc.", but I own a Nexus tablet and am thinking about purchasing the N5, and I've been on Gingerbread for over 2 years with a locked bootloader on my current phone. So I understand the whole patience thing, but after being screwed by Motorola, I'm not even giving LG the opportunity to pull a fast one. If the G2 doesn't have damn near Nexus development, I'll take the 16GB hit for the N5.
3. As a follow-up to the last question, I saw the LG OG got KK, so I was wondering: because the G2 is "essentially" the N5, are the binaries and source still applicable as it kind of was with the OG/N4? As in, shouldn't development be pretty quick, quicker than a normal device?
4. How much support does LG give, it terms of factory images, etc? Again, I'm coming from a Nexus, how "safeproof" is it?
The reason I'm not immediately getting the N5 is because the 32GB G2 is $50 on contract at Best Buy, and the 16GB N5 is $150 on-contract from Sprint. As a broke university student, the unlocked N5 is not an option.
Finally, an apology. I'm sick and TOTALLY out of it, and all of this was probably completely incoherent. I'll edit this later, to make it more.....English-like. Sorry about that. Thanks in advance for any insight into this matter.

G2 Upgrade... Should I?

Hey guys. I just wanted to get some info and recommendations from those that have this device. I currently have a HTC One on VZW. I like the phone and all but the camera issues on it are maddening. I am thinking about getting the G2 since the Nexus 5 isn't available on VZW yet (bc Verizon hates people) and wanted some impressions of the hardware.

How much longer do you think carriers will offer the G2?

After seeing, and being disappointed by, the G3; I'm just curious as to how long you guys think the carriers will continue to offer the G2. Most notably T-Mobile. I have decided on the G2 over the G3, but want to see if the price will drop after the G3 is released. However, I don't want to wait too long and lose out on picking the phone up through the carrier. What do you guys think? Will the G2 be offered alongside the G3 for a couple of months? Thanks.

[Q] Is it worth to buy a G2?

Hi all, I'm new here (my account is new but I follow this forum since long time ago)..
Lately I'm looking for a new smartphone, looking for the best one in terms of price/quality and comunity and today @Cloudyfa released the CloudyG3 witch is ported from LG G3 official ROM, and it gave me the light I needed to go ahead to but a G2.. but then I started to think that there are lots of smartphone that launched after, already with removeble batteries and sd cart slots..
My question is if it is still worth it to buy the LG G2, and if it is, do you think 16GB are enought?
I will give the phone medium/intense usage and plan to have it for the next 2 years..
Thank you in advance for the time!
The G2 will last you 2 years and it's a great phone but it depends on you. IF you wont mind that you get the G2 and the g3 is almost out, then go for the g2. it's a great device. I really like the g3 but I will not upgrade to anything because the g2 is good and also because of CPU cycle. Im waiting for the snapdragon 808 and 810 to hit. now about the 16GB, thats on you. For me, I can no longer live with 16 and 32 is becoming tight with the amount of pictures, baby videos I take and all the high quality music I carry around since I dont stream because of my monthly data allowance. g2 is great. other phones that are flaships now are also great. depends on you

Well.If I were you,I would like to wait for a couple of months to buy LG G3. After all,it won't be long when the G3 is available and it's much more better.
I'd also wait in your situation. While the G2 is very great, it still costs a lot right now and it wouldn't be worth it anymore. In a few months, the price will drop sharply. The G3 is a better phone. And if you want to you could even buy the G2 when the G3 arrives and get it for way less money.

Coats about 300, that's what I paid off contract...Also the quality of the G3 loses in areas such as battery life, definitely not worth the price over the G2.

Buying a new phone to replace your LG G2

What phone would you choose if you had to give up your LG G2?
I was thinking if I should sell my G2 and buy a new phone with 2 year warranty. In my mind, selling the G2 with 1year warranty left is a good option, cause our G2 is still worth buying for people with worse phones
I think LG G4 is good for you! ?
The g2 is still a good phone. For me, the G3 would be enough of an upgrade.
Honestly g3 is a downgrage compared to g2's price/performance ratio . Not even worth mentioning imo.
I'm never buying another LG! Only phone that has ever psychically broken in multiple places (two G2s' have done this) from less than normal use, (Case, screen protector, soft cloth to charge on while sitting on a powdered gold coated pillow, etc)
Feels cheap quality, but it's what's inside that matters, and the G2 had the top of the line specs when it was released.
Next phone will be a Samsung Galaxy S#, Google Nexus, or HTC.
The HTC modding community were always friendly and I was never treated like a kid by them. (Unlike the G2 forums where everyone treats you like children who don't know anything, just read one of our ROM's OPs....)
HTC again because they allow ways to root without exploits.
Galaxy just because there are a billion of accessories available.
Nexus because it's a development phone!
I mentioned the G3 because I am in Canada and see mint and new G3 phones go for 200 to 270 CAD. With the xchange rates at 30%, the G3 is a good value to me.
Do you think it's a good idea to sell my g2 at this point? I just know that phones aren't developed to last. So I think problems will start after 2 years are passed. That's why I would like to sell it earlier. I don't have any complaints for my g2, except for call quality and maybe some lags here and there. I would like to buy a nexus or Motorola..
