I've searched everywhere and haven't come across anyone with similar problems. When I boot up, everything is working fine, can see the big beautiful clock and use the touchflo slider at the bottom. After a few minutes, the screen just freezes at whatever screen it was on last. Touch interface doesn't work at all. Only when I click the start menu hard button and bring up the start menu does the touch screen work again. The thing is, I can't go back to the home screen again. I can only use the phone's functions from the start menu, which is very annoying. Also, when I launch an application, everything is fine, but when I exit it, the screen remains at whatever it was showing at the last view. Again, have to click to the start menu hard button to bring up any functionality and never see the home screen again.
Anyone know whats wrong?
Also: Using Miri v24, Radio 2.15.
I had a similar problem with Miri v24. I gave up in the end and installed Arthemis ROM instead. Works fine now.
Out of curiosity, are you using CHT?
Sounds like somethings causing Sense/Manila to crash.......
Try uninstalling CHT (if your using it)
Or hard reset.....
If you can still use the start menu then its not a "screen problem"....
it sounds like a software problem that should be sorted by a hard reset..

Nope. Fresh install of Miri with nothing added. I'll try Arthemis and see how it goes. Thanks!

Hi, I installed HTC Home and HTC home customiser on my orbit2. Everything looks fine and it works okay until i come to update it or change options with htc customiser.
I run the customiser and it says disabling htc home but the program stays on the screen.
When i go tto today and untick it, it still stays on the screen. The only way i can do it is by unticking in today, then reset device, then change options, then reset device , then tick it back in today, then reset device. Very annoying u think?
Anyone got the same problem? Or anyone point me to the two programs that work please. (if they do).
Also problem with tomtom, that only shows on screen sometimes.
It seems when i tick/untick things to show/notshow on today screen, they dont refresh. So they stay on screen as they were without changes.

Whenever I turn my phone on it shows an empty notification "bubble". Also in the top bar next to the G/3G icon is an extra icon, the one that shows up when you change keyboard input to numbers. It just stays there... Also the lower-left "softkey" turns to Notification instead of the usual Agenda.
I can only get rid of it by opening up a new sms/mms/email, because then the icon for t9/abc/numbers needs to be used, so it sort of refreshes the icon and it goes away when I exit the sms/mms/email.
Now I was just wondering if there's any way to fix this? It's bugging me, although not to a degree at which it would be frustrating, but still... I'd rather not have to go through the above mentioned steps everytime I turn my phone on.
I think it's too minor of a problem for flashing my phone. So, any suggestions on what to do? Thanks!
hi - tap start/ settings in personal tab tap "lock" untick box listed "prompt if device unused for" this sovled for me

i haven't seen it since i flashed the niki project ROM.
Aww, ok.
Guess there isn't much else to do then. I'll wait for an HTC update.
(Anyone know when WM 6.1 will be here for the touch dual? )

Then Niki Project ROM runs WM6.1. Try it. I have it on my Niki and it's fantastic!

after insalling touchflo detatcher
my taskmananger on the today screen on the top right corner
has dissappeared.
tried many things but it dont comes back
pitty, cause it was darn handy.
after uninstalling the detatcher,
still got the same problem

Turn it on from the settings menu.
Start ---> Settings --> System ---> Task manager
Then select Button on the bottom and enable "Enable Quick Menu on Today Screen".

Yeah I had this problem too, but it seemed to come back after a soft reset. Weird things have been happening since I installed the detatcher.

whats the detacher? sounds like a soul consumer.
it seperates your today screen and the manila app.
so you can use both, your today screen and your touchflo.

I have installed all the latest HTC fixes and using shipped rom 1.48.488.1 (71294) WWE.
It appears after installing the last posted fix by HTC on 14th Jan (SMS fix) I am getting the following problem:
On the home screen, when I press the bottom icon for the quicklink to my favourite contacts it causes the HTC sense to launch again and return to the home screen. It does this every time.
Any comments? Hard reset?

It's not normal behaviour, as mine works as you'd expect, with the same ROM and the SMS hotfix from last week.
Is it just with one contact or all of them? Have you tried removing and then re-adding any contacts to see if that helps?

Once I have pressed the quicklink to my favorite contacts I can not activate any of the softkeys and the screen doesnt respond. I can see my contacts breifly but touching the contact or scrolling the page up. The screen changes to my lock screen wallpaper and the words 'launching HTC sense' appears.
Sounds like bad news.....

Sounds like Sense has crashed. Does the people tab work okay? That may be the best temporary workround.
Arrrgh, thats screwed too.
Would installing the last SMS fix be worth a try or you think the damage is deeper than that?

It sounds like something's shafted something. Have you installed any contacts related software at all?
I've got all the hotfixes, and nothing has caused this issue for me. I'd also imagine it wouldn't fix it either, as the hotfixes are for specific issues.
No mods or additional software on mine.
Sounds like it needs a hard reset. well I had nothing planned tonight anyway.

No worries mate. Hard reset was all I had left to suggest too. Fingers crossed the issue doesn't reappear!

Tmous HD2 Leo - Stock ROM
Cookies HST
Leo was plugged into car by USB - listening to music - when I get a text. Device froze up. Ended up back at Lock Screen and slider would not advance device to Home.
Now, when I reset the device, it hangs on Launching HTC sense. I am able to access - most - of my programs. However, I am now unable to access my Settings from the start menu.
Anyone know anyway to fix this so I do not have to attempt a hard reset?
If you can get to the Settings>Home from the programs menu, try disabling sense on the home screen and reset ...
Then turn sense back on ...
See if that makes a diff ....
Not sure how to reset sense to defaults, but that may work too ... maybe somebody else will wade in here ...

Yeah, device isn't letting me get to settings at all. Funny, I can get everything else, but not that and Sense. Looks like I'm heading for my first hard reset. Sigh...

Had a similar problem before, coudnt access settings however the hardbutton (2nd from left) still worked and i could restart sense this way.
