Hello,
I'd like to extend the SHARE and SET AS options when dealing with Images. I have Galaxy S and am unsure if its galaxy specific topic, even though reason tells it should be general android feature. By default you can Share the image with AllShare, Mail, Messaging, BlueTooth, Picasa. I would like to extend it to be able to upload this image to a custom PHP file through POST. As such, for starters I need to find a way to modify/customize the SHARE AS options.

Is there a website where you post what you want and developers bid to do the work? I've used similar services before for html / php / java and was wondering if it was available for android apps???

Here is my thought (remember, I'm not a developer):
A super basic app: a single icon (like wifi tether) that opens a predefined url that has users info appended to the end as arguments, see example below:

mydomain,com/page.php?name=mike&id=1234&color=blue
Users info are just text fields with no validation and are setup from the menu button.
This would be a customizable app. A person could modify the app by adding (changing) three files
icon image
url.xml - contains the base url and perhaps the app name
user.xml - contains the users data fields
above example users.xml would add 3 setup fields for name, id, color
by changing the url xml file, you could setup app to piont to any domain
by changing the users.xml, you could setup any number of arguments
by changing icon, app image would match users preference
Ideally it would be best if it could have multiple occurances of the app (maybe just app name being different would work) because I may want it for mydomain.com any you may want to use it for yourdomain.com

I'm sure everyone here uses and loves the multi users feature. It gives a true independent workspace for each user, however it's not always fascinating.
While the apps need to be downloaded in each profile, the main issue is about locally stored data.
For instance, I want to share some pictures that I have in my gallery with my wife on the same device but can't figure out how to do it.
Would appreciate if anyone can share a solution to be able to share local files with another user profile

Well the apps actually are NOT downloaded for each user. Only one copy is used by both.
Have to think about intentionally sharing pictures. I am sure Google Drive would work - but that is overkill, and you might wind up with two copies...

Nope, I have no use for multi-user on the N7 or any tab. To me, a tablet is a personal device, just like a phone. I have no need for multi-user on a Nexus 4 either, it's pointless.
Because storage is limited on the Google Nexus devices (discounting usb) both my wife and I have our own. Each is setup for our personal preferences and taste. If we want to share data, it's easily copied, or shared with Google drive, dropbox whatever.
We are both remaining on JB 4.1.2 and have no immediate plans to update.
I have a stock rooted S4. I am looking for a method at a minimum to have a different set of home screens for work and personal use. But preferably would have the ability for each user or profile we will call it to have its own unique settings, accounts, apps, and home screen. Maybe even serpate files. The ability to password protect my work profile so switching to it requires a password or unlock code of some sort is also very useful to have as just an additional layer of security on top of the device being encrypted and my unlock code.
My guess this type of functionality could come in for form of a custom ROM which is fine by me. I have no real attachment to the stock or any custom ROM as it is now.

Could you achieve this with TecTiles?
I have them but I've never set them up so I can't be sure this is what you're looking for.

Hi guys,
Although I usually switch to a more vanilla experience on my devices, I'm testing a Galaxy Tab A for a work project I'm putting together. It's a clinical study and investigators will use tablets for data entry, so I need to make the tablet fool-proof and prevent most users from installing anything, browsing etc to preserve battery.
In Settings > Users, clicking "add user" only proposes to add a normal user, and not a restricted one. Did Samsung really ditch the "restricted profiles" from their rom ??? I hope it's just me and I'm missing an obvious place to look at. The tablet is running 6.0.1 MMB29K build.

edit: I just ran on this topic: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/47Qffy996As that states that Restricted Profiles are only available for "tablets". Since there's a 4G port on my tablet, is that it ?? That's just plain stupid ??
