[Q] flashing back to default kernel? - Epic 4G General

I'm using mixup but is there anyway to flash the d18 kernel?

Yes. Use the zip at the bottom of the first post.

Thanks. Now that will just flash the kernel right? It won't mess with any of my otherfiles. Rom, etc... I like to switch between mixup, phoenix and I would like to mess with d18.

If you flash one of the zips from this thread you will have the stock ROM with exception of Clockwork still installed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=786266
It only formats the system partition, so if you want your data wiped you would have to do that manually.
Thanks

Its called lag, flash a kernel with lagfix, enable lagfix, job done, no more lag!

try using sgs kernel flasher from the market edit. If you are soft bricked then easiest solution its to reflash your rom, though in this case as you bricked with a lagfix you will need to make sure that you use a pit. file too in order too repartition your sd card, don't panic, fixable

As long as you wipe only what I told you everything will be exactly the same except you will be on the stock kernel. You may need to update some apps in the market, but the data will still be there

Which rom is suitable?

Now i currently running GamerzRom V6.2. Kernel Semaphore. Can i flash to F1 rom or Cyanogen without flashing my kernel? Or need to flash other kernel?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
When a new rom is installed ,
The default kernel of the rom is installed
so gamerzrom kernel will be deleted

Oh. I thought need to reflash the kernel. If like that, ok thanks.

How to flash a kernel?

I just wanted to know how do I flash a kernel? I'm on an aosp ROM and wanted to flash a kernel before I applied an update to the ROM. Thanks!

If you don't know how to flash a kernel I don't know how you were able to install a ROM as its nearly the same process.

Yea you just flash it in recovery then typically wipe Cache/Dalvic afterwards. However if you're flashing a ROM update you're going to want to flash the kernel after that since ROMs contain their own kernel that would just wipe out the one you flashed prior.
