Just upgraded to XXJVT courtesy of Samsung Kies on my I9000, and, ugh. Black Notification Bar, home screens that wrap around, 1 > 2 > 3 >1 and horrible menu scrolling (which I know is because of stupid Apple).
On the menu front, how does stock Google scroll menus?
But the Notification Bar, it is supposed to be black? I think it looks hideous.
Yep, the notification bar is solid black, which I also thought was pretty hideous. For the home screen scrolling, you can solve that with a launcher app. I highly recommend GO Launcher Ex or ADW Launcher Ex.
If you're not feeling the look and feel of the stock JVT ROM, you could always try out custom ROMs like CM7.1, MintBerry MIUI, etc.
Don't see how home screens that wrap around as opposed to stopping at the end can possibly be a bad thing. Makes it faster when to go from one end to the other.
How is the menu scolling? Is it that glow effect when you hit the end as opposed to the iPhone-style bounce?
Custom ROMs are the way

It provides me some order. Probably just a case of getting used to it. But I like it as it was.

That's the way, the horrible glow effect. How does stock Android do scrolling?
When I was looking at Android Handsets last year, the thing that disappointed me about the stock versions of Android, was the poor poor camera functionality and lack of recording time. Has this been addressed in current Android stock?
I posted this yesterday in the CM9 thread, but in case some people didn't see it, here's a nice mod I found in the Android Software Dev thread that let's you customize just about everything in your status bar and notification drawer. Works perfectly on our phones just flashing over cm9 (i'd wipe chache/dalvik 1st though). Probably will take a little time to set it up just right, but once you do, it's a real babe.
here ya go - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531222
If u plan on using this mod to make a reddish theme, try flashing this theme I modded for us - http://db.tt/0ciguWu5 - screenshots (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1561544)
I love AOKP but the missing data toggles really bother me lol. This is perfect addon for cm9.
Hopefully someone figures out how to get the 4g toggle to appear or patch it so it does.

hell yeah, this is just what i've been looking for!
excellent work!
This is schweet! gives me a volume and brightness slider in the notification tray just like I've always wanted. The custom colors option is fantastic too.
Hello I have this problem that my navigation bare just keeps on being there even though I'm on the homescreen see attachment. I'm running AOKP build 4, how to disable the navigation bare on home screen.
it makes not much sense my friend. you want to disable the navigation bar, like hiding it completely including buttons, for your homescreen alone? why would you want to that? if you meant that really you wanted to make it transparent but youre left with the impression of a bar then thats because you have shadows activated in your launcher, you must switch them off.
ahh
ahh edit
Links status bar and navbare was enableled in general setting and transperency under aokp rom
First off...many thanks to ALL you devs who have already contributed and will contribute in the future. Your work is necessary as phone manufacturers ship less than perfect handsets. You guys truly make these products sooooo much better.
From what I've been gathering...a number of folks would like some of these ideas listed added to this wonderful phone. Donations shall be in order of course for all the hard work.
- The ability to hide the ever present location "bullseye" Icon
- Replace the battey icon with a custom one (I always thought that multicolored round one with the percent in the middle was coooooollll), or shrinking the stock percentage and placing it on top the battery.
- Bottom speaker gain control
- knock off works if you tap the empty area of the home-screen in a 3rd party launcher (the stock ui sees it as one big app, which is why it won't work unless you double tap the top status bar.)
- Keeping the top status bar and the lower nav buttons transparent in 3rd party launchers (the stock ui again sees it as one big app, rendering the bars opaque)
- Black or gray theme for settings menu....the white is a bit harsh.
- Double tapping the home nav button brings up LG Voice Mate...or that voice control LG app thingy.
Hide the brightness and volume sliders in the notification panel please!

The VZW model never had them in the first place.
This is a request thread and should go in Q/A or general.
Thank you!

They will soon.
No worries.
I'm working on these atm..
but I have F320 Systemui..
no one sent me the Verizon of At&t systemui.apk..
And for the 1% Battery MOD, Framework.res & Lge.res is also required..
EDIT: My friend here, djkinetic sent me those files.. I cannot see or test anything..so i will send it to him for testing. But not everything at once, one by one slowly..
How about removal of the AM/PM please and location icon (as was mentioned)
What kind of bottom speaker control are you asking for?
I support the dark settings theme.
At least you can change the navbar to be black instead of white, and the settings menu to be tabbed instead of one gigantic list. I was worried during initial reviews when they said you couldn't change those.
I'd like to add - ability to customize navbar to add other button types, or at least the customization of the navbar hold-n-drag options (currently holds voice search, Google Now, and something else).

All in good time. The beauty of a flagship device is very highly likely CM support.
AOSP please
How about a permanent Back, Home, Multitask, Menu button layout in AOSP style with a semi transparent background on the homescreen...
Of course, I'd prefer complete AOSP.

Sitting here streaming Slacker radio, dawned on me:
customizable knock patterns! like 2 knocks for skipping a track, change wake up to 3 knocks, etc.

Just use Nova gesture double tap + tasker task to lock the screen.

Why buy the G2 if all you want is AOSP? You might as well have waited for the N5.. I don't understand why people buy a phone that has some pretty cool features, only to flash AOSP and lose most of it... I get that a lot of what the G2 does can be built into AOSP with different apps but i guess I'm the only one who buys the phone for the experience that was intended by the manufacturer.
Ok guys, was able to make many things and tested them too! Need to fix a few things. Its 4 am here,by 11am i will make a new thread in themes section
Greetings people,
As TW Lollipop has landed, most of the devs have been trying to brew ROMs for the people, and unfortunately there is no control as what MODS should be included, i have found it terribly difficult to choose a ROM as it didnt feel normal to use mods that made no sense (or at least have a minority audience).
Particularly, what annoys me a lot, is dealing with the mods that change the visual space available, now there is no need to blame devs here at all, but rather Sammy should be here to blame for just trying to make a normal UI into a complex useless UI in to their own, and they have effed it up with the new Notifications Drawer.
While i noticed a lot of devs have found options/parameters to change the view of the notification drawer, a lot of ROMs include a very annoying feature called Quicklaunch, however im pretty sure a lot of people like it. While Quicklaunch in my personal opinion sucks, it looks way better compared to S-Finder and Quick Launch buttons. I personally lack any kind programming/scripting skills, but luckily, thanks to a nice dev called @alfaroolg with a similar taste, he brewed it for me straight away.
This is what i planned on seeing:
Remove S-Finder and Quick Connect
Remove 3minit Quicklaunch
Remove the Brightness Bar
Currently, im on @g00h s Note 4 Port, which makes me believe that the Brightness Bar is not removable anymore as i could not find the setting on either the Display settings or Notification Panel editor, HOWEVER, the brightness bar disappears if under 5% battery so you cant push the brightness up, and to my surprise, found out sammy screwed up adopting to the Lollipop rules.
This is how it looks without S-Finder/QuickConnect and Quicklaunch: First Pic
This is what happens with the same configuration, under 5% battery after the Brightness Bar disappears: Second Pic
And to my surprise, if there are any Notifications going on, things return well: Third Pic
Is this a general issue Sammy mustve skipped? quite an eye catcher. Also, the area where the brightness bar disappears, usually Notifications get the place, and the first Notification is not Swipeable, i end up clicking the notification rather then removing it, and it can result in very unpleasant moments.
