About 20 seconds into recording a video the screen will look like its frozen. Then if I back out half the camera app and half the Home screen is showing..
It happened on stock rom and now also on Kumars rom.
It also seems to freeze every now and again watching youtube videos, but the video recording like everytime...
Any ideas?

Hello, i installed the Youtube app in miui rom, but when i see videos in HQ they are very choppy, it's like they freeze and unfreeze after 10 seconds.. How we can solve this?
My regards, Paul
I don't know about chopiness but i have a different and very disturbing problem with miui. If i play a video and i have my phone turned so that it plays full screen before pressing the play button, when it starts playing it looks like **** with green lines all over and i cant see a thing. If i start the video in portrait mode and after starting the video tilt it to landscape there is no problem at all.
It gets on my nerves though -.-'
My nexus 4 has started to develop some issues. The most annoying one is the frequent failure of the camera to record video. I press red record button which registers the touch but no recording starts. It will work for a while after a reboot but always happens again.
When i try to use an alternative camera app to record video i get a message saying "oops video recording is not currently working on your device" so its not just the camera app playing up.
Does anyone know what could be causing this or how to fix it. Running stock and unrooted.
Edit: so playing about with this a bit more and ive discovered it only happens after i try to watch a video from the gallery. So i boot up my phone, record a video and its works ok. I can record videos fine. However if i go into the gallery and try to watch one of the videos playback fails. If i then go back to the camera and try and record a new video i get the issue as described above. BUT if i do the same thing but view the video outside of gallery (i used mx player) the video plays fine and the camera recording continues to work.
So it seems its an issue with gallery playback of the video. I have forced stopped the gallery, cleared data and cache but that didn't help.
So, the YouTube app finally supports 60fps video, and it defaults to it whenever I'm on Wi-Fi, however, whenever it tries to display any video at 60fps, it just freezes on the first frame it buffers and all I get is the audio playing over that frozen frame. I have to switch it to 480p/30 to start properly watching the video again.
Is anyone else having this issue? Is this can be fixed, how do I go about doing that?
I'm on stock 4.2.2 rooted.
Thanks!
When I record video on my LeEco pro3, it usually can record for as much as I want. I went to two concerts recently and everytime I tried recording a song, it stops recording at varying short intervals with a timeout error message. Has anyone had this issue? I will try to see if I can replicate the issue and send screenshots.
Use my camera daily for short videos at my work. We shoot 5-10 videos a day at about 9 minutes each. Never had an issue. X727
That's the strange thing. I have been able to record long videos at home but the concerts ones never last more than a few minutes. Maybe the constant refusing due to lighting changes causes the camera phone to crash?

I can confirm what you are saying. I have used the phone on a tripod to capture hour long videos, several of them. But when I use the camera on hand and try to capture videos while moving around, it just stops recording at random moments.
In my case the app didn't crash, it just stops recording, Pressing the record button starts recording again.

This is exactly what the problem is. If you see the error message again, can you take a screenshot for me? I don't get the option to continue to record. It just closes the camera application when i press okay.
I've tried to resolve this issue before by doing some research, but left with no avail.
YouTube will play a video just fine 2 minutes in, but almost every time I watch a video, the video will freeze, and the audio will keep playing. The actual video freezes though, not the display, meaning I can use the controls and switch to a different video.
Another issue I have is, when the video comes to an end, it will cut off the very last second, so I can't hear the very last second of the video, which I've been finding very annoying. I'm on a ROM, and I've tried this with stock with no results.
