HELP - device driver not successfully installed? - Vibrant General

Hi
I have been trying to fix this problem for hours. I have searched the forum etc trying to find resolution but cannot.
I soft bricked my phone during the recent ota update and was able to fix it using odin.
I was trying to install the update via mini kies but running into a problem
When I plug my phone via usb my computer won't recognize my phone. I keep getting an error saying "usb device not recognized."
I tried uninstalling all of my usb root drivers and let them all reinstall. However when I plug my vibrant in, it says "device driver was not successfully installed"
I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Drivers won't install: download mode for Odin

Hi all,
I've successfully rooted my Galaxy S and want to start flashing new firmwares.
Having followed the tutorial, I've gotten my phone into Download mode (with the android on the screen sweeping) and connected to my PC via USB, but my PC says 'Driver Installation Failed' after it tries to install new hardware drivers automatically.
I'm on Windows 7 64-bit.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I was wondering if I needed Kies installed on my PC first (so it might have drivers in it), but I can't get it to install at all. When I try installing the .exe it does the 'preparing installation files' and gets to 100% before disappearing and nothing happens, so it never opens the installer. I double checked the task manager and nothing happens once the 'preparing' reaches 100%, it all just stops. Compatibility mode didn't work either.
If Kies doesn't need to be installed for flashing new firmwares, all the better, but what do I need to do to get it to correctly install drivers in 'Download mode' for Odin?
Cheers!
Ah, solved!
I instead installed Samsung New PC Studio from samsung-firmwares, and even though it doesn't detect the phone and I exited it, my Galaxy S successfully installed drivers on my PC.
Flashing now! =O
Hey this worked. Thanks a million!!

[Q] Brick Not Recognized

Forgive if this is somewhere else on the forum but i have been filtering so much info in the last day and this doesn't seem to be anwsered.
Ok so I went to flash with odin 1.3v and the flash was a bad one probably user error. After that failed rebooted phone and comp. now The computer doesn't recognized the phone as any real hard where just an unknown device. i have reinstalled the drivers multiple times. i have got the watermark suite so i can use the driver but since i cant find a .inf driver i cant force install it. I Understand that it is a bootloader issue or so i seem to believe please help with a redirect to answer or just tell me why i FAIL.
come on nobody unknown device drivers are installed used all usb ports give me some help

Odin not recognising phone when in download mode

Ive been trying to root my phone using cf root but when i put my phone into download mode and connect it to the pc odin doesnt recognise it. However, when i reboot my galaxy s one of the bars at the top of odin turns yellow and in the message box it says "Added!!". Ive tried this on 2 different pc's and its still not working.
When i first connected the usb cable to the pc, a message came up saying if i wanted to install the software from a cd, but i dont have one so i couldnt. Then it said that the software couldnt be installed properly. How do i install it properly?

Download the drivers from my signature & install them, make sure you haven't connected the phone while doing so. Restart windows, connect the phone. Windows will install the required drivers, & you are ready to go.
Do i install from setup.exe. Its asking for a password.
Ive extracted it all but i cannot set up.
My windows is 32bit. Can someone please tell me where i can the samsung usb 32 bit drivers please?
Ive managed to get the 32 bit drivers and it says that samsung usb modem and the samsung usb android composite device are ready to use. However, it says that no driver was found for the ethernet controller.

Cant find what I need...

I have here an sch-i800 that wont turn on... Someone tried to update it with odin and obviously failed... Anyway the only sign of life I get is when I hook up to pc it tries to install the drivers for boot loader I am assuming and fails. I have been looking around for solutions but find nothing. If youre gonna scold me for not googling dont because I have. Just wondering if someone knows something that google doesnt. I can see the tablet in device manager as SEC_S5PC110_TEST_B_D_DRIVER. Please any help would be appreciated.
does your computer have the samsung usb drivers installed?
have you tried booting into download mode and use odin to flash the correct firmware needed by your device?
As hinirang said, the device drivers could be an issue - I found that installing Samsung Kies automatically installs the appropriate device drivers. A good idea would be to kill the Kies process before connecting via Odin, though.
Try re-installing the driver as they might be corrupted but behaving as they are all right!!

Try uninstalling the current drivers you have for it then just replugging your phone in that should download them but if not you can always just uninstall and Google the drivers you're looking for and download them that way BTW I don't think you can root if you're on OK3 but I haven't been on here in a while so I'll double check and just make sure
If it says "device unplugged", that may indicate that the cable you're using is bad, or that the USB port on your computer is bad. Worst case, the physical jack on your phone is loose.
The MTP error can be maddening. If it continues on other cables and other USB ports, try going into your computer's Device Manager and uninstalling the samsung device drivers, then reinstall them.
You might also try using Samsung Kies software to install the drivers, but be sure to turn Kies off before attempting to root because Kies blocks Odin.
