Forum demographics (male or female)

I must be wrong, but every time I see someone in this forum, I assume he is a guy. I must be wrong. Are there any girls here?
(sorry for the trivial question, but I just think it can't be true).

everyone knows there are no girls on the internet, sheesh.

Not as many girls on this one as some of the other android forums but yes there are a few of us .... I'm mainly on SprintUsers.com but most links refer to here so decided to see what I can do over here.

LoL. I have had to explain at least 3 times to my girlfriend why she doesn't want to get the purple LG phone with flowers on it and the $70 unlimited data plan.
She is a pHD.
I don't foresee her joining this forum in the near future.

my girl couldnt even use the evo touchscreen. she just kept hitting it with her nails or something awkward *facepalm*
back to the razr she goes.

i once saw a girl on a linux forum and she schooled everyone.. it was one of the hottest things ive ever seen.. but at xda, i dont think so.. plus its probably better that i dont find out cause then i would only come to xda to answer her questions as soon as i found out cause even if she is butt ugly i can find the inner beauty in a tech gurl.. gawd, tech gurls are such a turn on

I've been checking out XDA since way back when I first got my FUZE. So much great info here. I rooted my FUZE and was very happy with the results. Now I'm enjoying the EVO. It's nice to see that there's at least 1 other girl on here! LOL.

My gf has a Evo too (She switched from a iPhone) and she is in love with Android and loves having her phone as she says "hacked" but we know as rooted. She doesn't know about XDA though, I just install the cool stuff for her

(Didn't like my post and regretted it...but had to wait till now to delete)

My ex couldn't even figure out my iPhone, yet somehow my 62 year old mom figured out how to use her evo and start texting, too!
But other than that, I don't think very many girls know what a forum even means, much less how to find one. Haha.

There are some woman here. Not sure how many though. My wife has my old hero and is eying my evo for when I grab the next best thing in a few months.

I don't believe that hacking phones is a "girly" thing to do. or is it? I do wonder about some of you guys though.....
Just like you wouldn't really expect alot of girls to be drag racing. There are a few. And these girls are one of a kind.

I don't mean to stereo-type any women here....but it has been my seeing that most women prefer more of a girly like life sytle.... very rarely have I ever met a women who care about how fast a phone is.. how many gigahertz it has, how much RAM or the difference in kernels or software let alone all the technical b.s. we throw in between. But it is nice to see them around. For example... I serve the country in uniform, and while yes they are here in uniform. They don't much care for technical details of there job. They just show up and do what is asked of them. Nothing more. And again while most are wrapped up with clubs and fashion and what have you there is a small handful of them that do surprise us.... glad to see at least there are surprises here.

First Time with Hero

Hi, Im getting my TP2 replaced with a Sprint HTC Hero and would like to know if the Calandar agenda widget comes stock with the Hero. Like in this video

Its a replacemet for my TP2 covered by insurance

i agree soon as you get your hero you should SELL it immediately and take that cash and put it with more money to get an evo or epic or you will be sorry the hero is probably not better than a tp2 as i dont use winmo but trust me getting a hero is like going back in time 3 years even though its only a year old. lol i dont want to sound so angry im just trying to make sure you understand me.

I cant say it does for certain because im rooted using cm6 but id assume its part of htc sense.The hero is a great phone for the price and fits my needs just fine. Still havent figured out what all the *****ing is about.

yes it does come with the calendar widget along with alot of other sense ui widgets.

yeah its a budget phone indeed, really wasnt *****ing just offering advice if he had an OPTION to not get the hero, if he doesnt have an option thats cool too. Most of what i said are fact anyways. And @delta you answered your own question by watching the video all sense roms have a calender widget. Last @xjayman lets get a few more post under your belt before you can make the call that someone is *****ING.

Well, if I could afford an Evo I would, but I guess I have to settle for the Hero for the time being, its android and Im done with windows.

If I want to trade in my Atrix for a Nexus S or something that CAN ACTUALLY RUN LIVE WALLPAPER, what is the best way to do it? I've had this thing for over 30 days.

- Purpose of this tread is not to complain about LWP. That's why its called "Atrix Trade In" and asks "what is the best way to go about trading in an Atrix." For purposes of this thread, it doesn't matter WHY I'm doing, just the best WAY to do it.
- I know standard ways of selling a phone. Just like you can sell anything else. I'm not an idiot. That's why I asked for the BEST way to sell the phone i.e. some exchange that I may not know about where people exchange devices etc, or potential some return program through AT&T that I may not know about.
No need to be complete d$&#s.

I'm so confused. I'm using my Atrix right now, and I've definitely got a live wallpaper going right now.
Also, if you're really gonna sell it, Craigslist. I've sold a couple smart phones and plenty of music gear within 24 hours or less for a good price. Just make sure to put up pictures and your phone number, and if possible have original packaging and proof of purchase.

What the op means is he wants gingerbread, gingerbread brought along hardware acceleration. Hes going to trade his new phone because there is a tiny amount of lag in the launcher while using an ornamental wall paper. Well I am a ****, so I'll go ahead and say it, you are an impatient moron. And this is General Atrix forum. Development questions go in the Development forum. XDA, true, began as a development forum but has obviously expanded. Check the rest of the threads in this General Atrix forum - most have nothing to do with development. If anyone has mild retardation, it seems to be you, because apparently you can't read (note: illiteracy is a sign of mental retardation).
Thanks for the tip on Craig's list! I'll check that out. The lag comes in when you use a launcher with animations with LWP. LWP works, just not well enough for my tastes (I bought "the most powerful smart phone in the world" so things like this wouldn't be an issue).

The OP isn't really looking for help. This is just an attempt to take a jab at the Atrix veiled as a request for assistance.
At least that's my take on it.

The atrix general forum is filled with confused people asking for help and giving advice. There are questions about the atrix in mexico, how to enable 1080p recording, how to get better battery life. Then there is you... Asking how to trade the atrix. Just say it to yourself... How to trade the atrix...

Simply put....from your short ass first post it looks like this is the biggest problem you have with your atrix.

Side track.. That's cool... I think spb mobile is pretty badass. I thought with all that hardware acceleration it would be horrible on battery but it used about as much as adw which is practically nothing.
Goes to show op, worlds most powerful phone is pretty f*cking powerful. Let the software mature, or jump ship the nexus is a great phone. Just whatever you do don't tell us

I'm sorry for your loss..

I have a 2 year old terror for a son, that is constantly playing with my phone. The blue htc case has been the best purchase i have made in a long time. It definitely beefs up the phone enough to withsatnd majority of his punishment. He did manage to break something because my keyboard lights rarely work... But thats nothing compared to if he would crack my screen... Come on root so i can get a new phone with working keyboard lights.

there is skins for sense 2.1 to atleast take care of the nasty sense 2.1, all i wanna do is get back to themeing aswell cause the stock icons are horrid to look to look at. mainly the battery, i miss 1% battery mod.

We all feel your pain . Guess it's going to be a minute before your able to do anything for the community . Dammm you HTC .

you could always try a different Launcher so that it will look different...

If you're lookin for a sense 3.0 like lockescreen try Agile Lock from the market, been using it on my evo for a week or so and loving it. In order to get all the functionality out of it you'll have to download 4 or 5 apps from within the agile lock app. They're all in Japenese or Chinese, can't read either so not sure which language it actually is, but just download and install them then you can delete them. Once the app is unlocked it functions almost just like the 3.0 lockscreen.

As far as children, I think my 15 y.o. looked at some pR0n on my shift the other day. I spent hours deciding how to sterilize it, in the event that he diddled himself, without blitzing the circuits. My first impulse was to soak it in bleach for a day or two. How's that for some FML?????

Because the RUU checks the hboot and says you've got the wrong one and fails.

I know your saying is correct, but if it is simply just that, how come with revolutionary on other phones you can run a RUU and it'll reset the phone but keep s-off? Or is it because revolutionary just does something crazy?

Dunno. I may be wrong in the above too. I've been lucky enough to keep my root and haven't actually been paying much attention to the problem of rooting the 2.3 OTA.

I came across this thread (below), and I'm trying to see if its at all possible for one of our devs to translate and port this to our Evos. That would be awesome.

Miui is basically that plus some from what I remember. Give it a shot. Someone some time ago actually made an iOS ish Rom. Think it was on HTC hero. It wasn't that popular.

As it turns out, I'm Running MIUI right now. I just came across it an hour ago. What I like is that it has the "search" feature if you go to the leftmost screen. Try out the launcher on the thread and tell me what you think.

I just don't understand the want for this. I have used every single iPhone and haven't seen any progress with the crappyness of the OS. I can't imagine why anyone would even want to use this. Even completey stock,unthemed android looks so much better than this. It's whatever though, everybody has their own preferences as completely mind blowing as they are. I'm also a little biased because I can't stand anything that is made by Apple. I would rather have no technology at all than to use any product made by Apple.

Deep breath in and out there Fangoria. Wow I have seen some ignorance in here but remember, NOT ALL OF US LIKE THE SAME THINGS. Iphone has its good points and android has better points(In my opinion). Why you so quick to bash someone today? You need some Midol. We all are different and like different stuff click the back arrow and go on to something else if you don't like this thread.

Someone should definitely do this. I'm willing to bet a lot of people would use it (someone in that thread even said they would donate to get it on the evo), and there's nothing like it in the forums. (no, MIUI is not like this)

Can you not read? I wasn't trolling anybody. I clearly stated that EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN OPINION. I did not insult his intelligence for having such opinions nor did I call him any name for any reason. Use your brain before your fingers touch the keyboard.
