Desire
yesterday i wanted to get a battery status bar for my desire just like the picture below
found a thread here that explain how to get it
Super Circle Battery with % |Version A-I & Z (Custom)| Desire 2.2 ROM
Problem
However i found out that i am un-able to use it because the requirments for installing (what i have been told in the thread) is that your device has to be
1. Rooted
2. Have different ROM than the stock ROM
personally i find it very inconvenient to root & flash a new ROM just to get this battery circular percentage (thats all i want, I am pretty satisfied with the stock FROYO 2.2)
Solution
I have modified an APK, used an existing programming logic but with different presentation.
the APK can be installed to your Desire (and probably other android phones without any problems) and it will show you what you want in the notification bar, just like in the screenshot below
Advantages
- You will not need to root your device (this APP will not change any system files in the framework-res.apk)
- You will not need to install different ROM
- Small size APK, you can just download, install and enjoy
Credits
- Battery Indicator from Darshan Computing (Freeware)
- Graphics provided by Fightspit & mendozinas (Thank you!)
any feedback would be appreciated
That is nice

Battery Indicator Pro is an independent Open Source Project, think of this app as a different distribution of it
any chance of getting this into the market, so if there are updates it's easier to update?
Very nice indeed, very polished look to it. Thank you
very nice app, can u add an option to select text colour cuz i'm using milestone, the status bar is white colour so i almost cannot see the % text.
thx
kk
Can you add a themable version reading files from SD card? In this way anybody can use and test its own icon style
Working great on my Desire. Thanks brother!
works on mytouch 3g with biffmod 2.0.1 looks great
Thanks, very nice indeed, the only problem is that on the Desire, the background color of the notification area is white and the text of the application is also white, but this is rather minor. The other thing I'm missing from Battery Indicator Pro is the option to disable the lock screen, but this is also minor (I've installed No Lock).

Well i guess i have to work with this apk. Looks great just what i wanted, but like you, I wanted it in my battery icon area. Unfortunatley root is required if you have Froyo 2.2. Well until i find a good reason to root my, I'll be fine with this. Thanks again for making this.
Stock Evo Froyo 2.2
works perfectly, thanks a lot
Works just fine on my D2. Thanks and nice work.

Firstly let me make clear that I have taken inspiration from SimpText by UltraLinx, you can find his thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742449
I loved the idea he had created, very simple and minimalistic, however on my Desire the icons were just too small to be useful for me. Very kindly, UltraLinx also provided the PSD file he based his icons on. From this I amended the colours, the font, the size, as well as some more font options.
The end result is as follows:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

}
I can create more to your liking if requested
Currently there are 139 icons in 10 different colours below:
Black
Bright Red
Dark Red
Green
Light Blue
Orange
Pastel Blue
Pink
White
Yellow

Ah, they seem great .
Are you able to provide a PSD at all like was done by UltraLinx?
They seem very nice! Definately gonna try them if you could provide a psd file
EDIT: Changed the colours a bit and they are much better than the original ones by UltraLinx, very clear and easy on the eye, thanks!
These icons are great mate. Any chance of making me a few? I'm after htc calendar, my games, my apps, my tools, my media, my misc. In green and orange if you can, would very much appreciate it. Thanks

Team BAMF Presents.. Matte HD v1
Okay guys, now that I spent most of my free time this weekend mucking around in our frameworks, it is time to release the beta version of Matte HD for you guys. I hope you enjoy my hours of piddling.

This theme is framework only right now, and I'm not even totally happy with it yet. In the coming versions I will be reworking the status bar and pulldown, theming more aspects of the UI, Dialer, etc. As always, it's up to you guys to weigh in on what direction you would like this theme to go. More color, less color, etc. Just let me know! The best feature so far of this theme is the modded AOSP lockscreen. I reworked the xmls so that now the AOSP lockscreen background image will be whatever is default_wallpaper.jpg in your framework. To get the effect pictured above I made a wallpaper with a transparent rip through it so that you're homescreen wallpaper shows through which creates a great effect. I also nuked all the text besides the clock. I will be posting a tutorial in a day or so as well as a PSD so that we can make different lockscreen images and use metamorph to quickly apply them.

Perfect! I'm one of the Sense haters. This is gonna be great! Thanks again guys for these great quality ROMs.
Looks good, but flashed so many goodies today on the remix I can't change now, lol.
Nice, the best ROM on the TB just hit a wider audience. Sense has grown on me though and I have no desire to leave BAMF remix
Haha good to hear it guys, this should hold over the purists. Will update accordingly with the others but should need way less "supervision" in this thread.. It's the tried and true base with no sense to confuse anyone. I'd like for someone versed in Android to help moderate this thread. PM me if ya wanna help out.
Butchdude, would you happen to know if zhp pilots mods like red 3g/4glte icons and his battery mods would work with this Rom or do we have to wait for him to reconfigure?
IN!
gonna try this right now

The battery mods will work with this ROM but will also theme this ROM with the Remix pulldown as it is all located in framework-res.apk. If you are okay with losing the pulldown in the above screenshot, by all means flash away.
PS: NOW, I'm goin' to bed.
Dammit. BAMF remix is so good and all the mods... Oh well downloading now ROFL.
Curious on the zhp pilot mods too.

Hey guys, I bought some on insurance on my phone while I went on holiday and obviously it got broken, so Orange are ever so sweetly replacing my phone tonight with a brand new one. However, to avoid the questions, I'd like to make my phone exactly like I first got it, if that is atall possible.
Second issue, once I unpack my new baby I'd like to install the newest, most stable rom.. good battery life, fast, efficient.. etc. Any advice?
Thanks guys.

Well...seems that you want a custom ROM. If you want to run the stock Sense ROM with android 2.1 you can install VillainROM 13 (it has some tweaks that make the phone rocket )...but you can try an AOSP ROM with android 2.3.5
Here are the links were you can download them
1.VillainROM 13 [Stock ROM with tweaks] -> HERE
2.Elelinux AOSP v3.3 [Android 2.3.5 with some tweaks and extra stuff] -> HERE
3.OMFGB AOSP by JieeHD [Android 2.3.5 with little modifications] -> HERE
4.Elelinux Speedmachine V5 [Android 2.2.1 with custom settings] -> HERE
5.Floyo 1.2 [Android 2.2.1 with custom settings] -> HERE
I recommend all of them, but you choose what you like, i used the first 3 and like them a lot. PS: i put some of the roms with the direct download link, if you want to see the page go to the development section
Keep me posted if you have any problems
Stefan
Sorry if I'm hi-jacking the thread, but thanks for the helpful post stefpaul. I'm getting a Hero this week (won it on eBay for under £100) and going through the development section to look for a good ROM is like looking for a needle in a haystack!

on the 140 dpi version everything gets a little smaller. For me there's no problem to read the text and it is pretty useful to display more content at the screen. I've not found any apps that don't like the new lcd density

Runny Blue Sky
A custom theme by ZeGuitarist
Hello all! I'm new to the world of Android modding and I don't have any knowledge of programming whatsoever, but recently I've been learning how to create and compile your own skins...
So, I'd like to present to you my very first skin called "Runny Blue Sky", which is based on the Sensation XL (Runnymede) skin Blue Sky, but ported to work on Sense 2.1 and 2.1+3.0 hybrid ROMs. It features a skinned navbar which looks like the Sensation XL dock, which I think is a lot more attractive than the "old" Sense navbar.

Known bugs:
- Skin will be named "Slate" in skin selector, as I haven't figured out yet how to put a custom skin name there.
- Not all the .pngs and colour codes seem to be in the right place yet, so you'll find little traces of green colour among all the blue, and some (very minor) graphical glitches.
BUGS WILL BE FIXED IN FUTURE VERSIONS!

but it will work on insertcoin 1.1.4 by baadnews ?
Yep, should definitely work on IC. On all Sense 2.1 ROMs, basically!
Great idea! I love 3.5 dock but want to stick to 2.1/3.0 for speed Will try this skin at home later and provide feedback!
Wooow really nice
Thx
really beautiful but every time i reboot my phone the theme disappear, and i must re-install it other than that i suggest you to skin also the taskbar, with ics theme it will looks more great
ps:i'm using leedroid 3.3.3r5 without the sense 3.0 addon
I've got no idea what might be causing that bug. I'm sorry.
Regarding the taskbar, I'm not sure what an ICS-themed taskbar looks like... I'll look into it. But since this is a Sense skin, I'll probably stick to the Sense-themed taskbar anyway.
Thanks for the feedback people! Will be updating this soon.
Another bug i 've found is on the stock message app...it doesn't display the contact 's imagine (Facebook one)
But for me is still a great theme, thank you
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA premium app
I'm not sure where these bugs of yours are coming from, because that too is working fine for me. Neither this or the other bug you found seem skin-related to me, anyway... Probably a ROM problem, tbh.
Anyone else have any of these problems with my skin, though? Just to be sure.
Sorry it took so long, but finally installed and tried it on IC 1.1.4, works and looks great so far I don't have any of the bugs mentioned by celoni! Looking forward to new versions coming? Hope so!
EDIT: Found one little "bug", there's a white frame/shine round the text under the htc switch widgets, for example for wlan, gps etc. Possible to remove that?
Awesome theme applied without troubles in a 2.1 + 3.0 Sense rom
For now I have not bugs
Thx
Found another bug. I reverted back to the old sense 2.1 lockscreen. However, there seems to be no texture for it. The lockscreen works ok (you can drag it up/down) but instead of the regular bar a small ring appears.
So I guess the problem here is that the old lockscreen uses the texture of the new one. I have to say, it looks kinda cool though
Love this skin but could you please add landscape support? Would make it perfect!
Thanks
Will deffinitly try this when I'm back on Leedroid, testing an ICS ROM now.

Very nice theme à big thank.
If you can create other do not hesitate because it is really smooth.

Good luck

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Just wanted to let you know that I will update this, to hopefully fix any flaws that it's got, but please be patient as I'm in the middle of exam revision right now.
Cheers!

I'm getting a ghosting effect when I choose a different skin and the text in the notification bar is black and barely readable when I get notificatons. Just two things I've noticed in the two hours running but so far very fast and smooth.

Describe the ghosting effect? I have never noticed it. And the black text is being addressed tonight.

It's like whatever was there before is left over or something. Hard to describe.

This ROM is a combination of Gingerbreaton and KillaSense out under the FactoryROM brand. We have talked about adding the 3.0 lockscreen in the future. We will keep you updated.

I'll upload a sepcific file to fix that, you're using a theme that has transparency and the framework does not support transparency on the default rom. I'm uploading a fix for the black text now you guys will NOT have to wipe data to update it, I'll upload a flashable zip for those who want transparent themes.

Like orka said, combination of our roms. Has some tweaks from his rom I did not know about that I really like and power control widgets. Has his and my heart in soul in it, you should enjoy it.

I went ahead and changed the name to 1.1 for you
So does this mean KillaSensation is on hold permanently?

No, I have talked with the team and we may continue the port a little later as a team.
