Question about the ji6 update - Vibrant General

I did the gps fix that I found in here a while ago so I tired in those numbers and changed those things in the settings. Now that I got the ji6 update did those settings change back to what they we're when I bought the phone or do I have to change them back? Also ever since I updated I try to connect to my wifi and it says my network is not in range even though I'm during right next to it.
Can anyone help me?

[Q] PLZ PLZ help..3g and 4g issue

Hi there. Im on EB13 and not running any customs rums. I upgraded from DK28 using the samsung file from the samsung website. Ever since I went from DI18 to DK28 last month i keep dropping 3g or 4g signal. the problem still exists even when i upgraded to EB13. The interesting thing is that the phone shows I have 3g or 4g signal on the notification bar but im not able to load webpages or the market or use youtube (i get a "connection failed! try again" error). It'd be working for like 10 minutes and then disconnects. I have to toggle 3g/4g off and on and i will be back online for like another 10 minutes. This issue is really annoying since i used the web a lot. Is any body else experiencing this? does any one have a fix or can some at least direct me to a direction for a fix? thank y'all

Try to flash it with Odin that might be better I'm on my phone so I can't put a link up for u but search on here I'll find it good luck

thank you. i will give it a go but i doubt it will fix the problem. I have used odin several times before and besides the rotation issue that it causes (i know the fix to it) i like using it. But i have heard that the samsung update tool does the same thing as odin and it flashes everything prior to writing new files to the phone. It may just be a modem issue but again im a noob and i may just be talking out of my rear
Try removing the proxy settings off the data radio. On the dialer do this:
Get your MSL code first then
##data#
Edit
Others
Multimedia
Then change all proxy addresses to: 0.0.0.0 and the proxy ports to 0. Back out of the menus and reboot the phone.
Let me know how it goes.

Hey thanks. I had done this trick before and it didnt seem to help. I will do it again just to see if it makes a difference on EB13.
Did you figure anything out? You could always try to update your prl?

Why does sprint put these Proxy settings in place? What are they trying to achieve by having them setup?

prevent ppl from streaming data all day. It will slow down the network a bit in some areas. But we are lucky. The thiefs over at verizon got a data cap to 5gb. We do aswell but sprint turns a blind eye just like tmobile.

I havent figured anything out yet. i had my data network turned off since morning and occasionally used 4g. I also changed the proxy settings to 0s again. I will know by the next day or so. btw. Thank u for your help, u had helped me once before also.

Galaxy S2 Problems on Rogers Network - Canada

1. MMS stops working by itself, after factory reset starts working again. No settings are being changed.
2. Bluetooth connection to my car Audi Handfree is very unreliable and causes network connection to stall, no data and calls go straigh to voicemail.
3. Call waiting stoped working. Everytime i get a second call my primary call mutes and I can't hear the other person and they can't hear me. By switching back and forth between callers I am able to hear first caller again.
All of these issues are solved by factory reseting the phone.
Does anyone have a clue why is this happening?
Using latest KE7 software.
I am on rogers and are having no issues with my phone that you are having... Maybe you got a bad phone?
Can you check if your mms messaging work?

I am on Rogers and I have the same pronlem with my car bluetooth. I just disconect the hands free and I can talk on the phone then.

On Rogers in Southwestern Ontario. I don't use MMS, so I don't have much experience with that.
I have used by SGS2 with BT Audio and calls on an Alpine KCE-400BT (Parrot unit rebranded as Alpine) and a Sony Xplod unit without any unusual behaviour
Haven't used call waiting other than by accident, no experience there either.
Hi I'm on Rogers is Windsor, I don't use MMS or bluetooth, but I use call waiting very often and not once as it messed up on me.
Anyone using Rogers having problems with digital call display? Whenever someone calls me it comes up as "unknown" but my account has digital call display on it.
I have seen name display work fine on my phone.it's a fantastic feature!

Anyone using Rogers having any data stalling/dropping issues? It seems like every time I go into an area with no signal (subway or elevator for example) it just doesn't seem to connect back onto the network fully. Even though it will say 3G, the data connection is actually dead and I usually have to wait a while or cycle airplane mode to get it back.
I'm using the KE4 radio. If you guys are having no problems, could you tell me which ROM and radio (baseband) you're using? Also, if fast dormancy is enabled or disabled? You can check with dialing *#9900#. Also, which APN you're using for data? Is it the internet.com one or the rogers-core-appl1.apn?

I just got a Bell SGS2 yesterday and rooted/unlocked it. I'm having 2 problems to date:
1) GPS cannot fix. I can be in view of 12 satellites, but it just won't fix.
2) My SMS timestamps are screwed up. Every message comes in with a stamp of 4 hours earlier.
Anyone else having these problems?
EDIT: Oddly enough, MMS works AND the timestamp is correct.

Hi guys, how did you get it to unlock to work on rogers? I have tried the free app on the market but that doesn't work out for me.
I have rooted the phone already.

Instead of getting the Galaxy S2 unlock app from the market, get the Galaxy_S app. It'll crash the phone at step 2, but it'll be unlocked after it reboots!

I haven't had this problem with my SGS2, but I've had it with previous Android and Windows phones. It is a known bug.
Apparently the problem isn't present when using Handcent SMS (which is really good anyways) or you can use this program designed specifically to fix the problem.

Might be a dumb question, but did you check your APN settings? Maybe they got messed up somehow.

This is why I'm afraid of using anything but the stock Kernel. No problems here on my unlocked stock SG2.

NTT works on completely different frequencies....there is no way it'd work here. If you want a phone that'd work in Japan then you'd need to buy one here and get a Softbank SIM card while in Japan.

Nvm got it working.

Cannot recieve any updates

First, do you have to be on 3g to update PRL or Profile?
Second, I have not been able to update my PRL or Profile since I first switched to a EE03 beta rom, I tried MANY other roms since, I even tried ODINing back to stock EC05 like it was when I first bought it and I get nothing. The only thing I ever get is... could not be updated at this time "Unknown Error."
The one fix that involes changing the OMA DM settings did nothing for me and I couldnt really find anything else that would be helpful to me.
This is really frustrating and I do not want to take my phone back to sprint to have them give me a refurb as a replacement. Anyone have any ideas?

Try to odin back from stock again and you have to unroot before you can get the updates.
You should be able to update prl on any rom... I had the same issue, odin back to stock tried to update prl again it still didn't work so I brought it back to sprint... it failed some test they gave it, and then I got a refurb 2 days later

I wouldn't worry about it. Call it a blessing...load 11114 manually and enjoy being stuck on that PRL. It's a good thing.

I actually run the modified verizon PRL cause sprint sux in my area! I dont even know what updating your profile is but it sounds important so I am upset that I cant do it.

Updating the Profile updates the handshaking between your phone and Sprint. If you have no trouble making phone calls you are good. But if you can't update anything it is something programmed incorrectly on your phone. Take it to Sprint.

It uses the same data path as the PRL updates do...ever notice how the 3G or 1X icon disappear when doing a PRL or profile update? It commissions the data on the phone, sets up the AAA key, etc so your phone can connect to 3G and 1X data. If your data is already working then don't worry about it, contrary to belief Profile Updates will not make your internet speeds faster.
How do you run 11114 Manually?

[Q] No 3g since latest update

Hey,
I updated my phone about 5 days ago to the latest 4.3 and since then I've lost my 3g connection. It has been there a bit but today it's completely gone and hasn't come back.
Tried turning it on/off, switching to airplane, changing from WDCMA to GSM and running in dafe mode. Nothing works.
Does anyone know what the issue is and how to solve it?
I should point out I'm not very tech savvy and don't know all the lingo so go easy on me

Post a screenshot of Settings > About Phone and scroll to the bottom. Is your phone stock or rooted?
Check your APN under mobile networks. Make sure you have an APN .

Showbox error please help!!

Hello all,
I am currently having issues with my showbox on my Verizon Note 3. For some reason the app refuses to update and I am forced to uninstall and reinstall in order to get the most recent movie/show listings. On top of that, when I reinstall, I ALWAYS get an error msg when the app initially tries to download the movie/show list. It says "network error check Internet connection." I do not understand what the problem is because at the time my Internet always works fine on 4g. Finally, I am only able to download the most recent movie/show listings 1 time after initial install and that is when I am at home on wifi. After the initial update it goes back to not updating. My phone is not rooted, although my friend went through all the steps and then found out that bc of my baseband version, the phone could not be rooted. Is there any chance that attempting to root messed up some settings that are causing me to have this problem? I am running android 4.4.2. Any advice or help is greatly greatly appreciated. Also, I've been trying to find a way to contact the developer but haven't had any luck? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks again for all the help!!

Uninstall it and then get it from their website. That's the only way it works for me when that happens.

Today it updated when I was on my home wifi. What is the website to download the app?
Mine only updates on WiFi. ..also I get it to update by clicking into some of the movies

Verizon has this application's host server blocked in their firewall. I hear t-mobile, and AT&T aren't far behind...
I use shoebox daily on my note 3 and it's not blocked at all... I'm rooted and I just hit the back button everytime the update dialog pops up. Causing the pool up to go away... Back to showbox viewing then... Mine updates the movie or shows on either wifi or data... I did update a few months back when app broke though... I searched it on Google

What version is it?
Tried Uninstaller and reinstalling new app from website. Still getting "server error check Internet connection" while I'm at home on WiFi . Believe it or not it only has updated when I'm at work. Very strange. Any ideas?
So i just downloaded the app and you're right it does have the connection error.
I decided to run some tests on my work ATT wifi it wasn't loading but when i turned off wifi and used my Verizon 4g it loaded.
So i went back to wifi because i am not on an unlimited verizon plan to be downloading all these files, and it works.
I was able to recreate it on a tablet so i believe only the inital sync of the app is needed on a network not on ATT after that you can use the app normally.
Give it a try and see how it does work.
1st open the app on a non ATT network then switch over to the ATT wifi you're using.

I tried showbox and I really liked it but it comes up as a threat in any Antivirus app.
I really don't know much about it but would like to know more.
I just don't need any frauds getting my info off my phone.
If it's all good to use can anyone explain the permissions. Location and a few others kind of made me worry. Plus my GPS was searching the whole time I had the app open.

I went to the wife setting and clicked forget for my wife connection then reentered the password and the problem was fixed

I keep reading downloading it but once it's open I get a request to update to a newer version and get an update error message. If I click on a movie it says server error. Can someone please PM me a better download link! Much appreciated!
I get this same issue just mine says update error been doing it for past week pretty annoying to be honest

It's a network issue when I run vpn it loads perfectly. I use betternet app.
