I have HTC HD2 with Ubuntu 0.2. How can I rotate screen to right - having hardware keys on left side? - By switching shortcuts on ubuntu desktop I can rotate only between portrait mode and right-handed landscape. Is it possible to rotate it by editing startup.txt or etc? I tried edit fbcon=rotate:1 to 3, but it only changes booting, not whole Ubuntu...

folks, with my very nice Herald I'm using either SK tools or manually editing the registry at
Local Machine/System/GDI/CleartypeSettings/SwitchOffonRotation or similar to have or NOT to have cleartype when rotate to landscape.
got following trouble:
1) when cleartype switched on in portrait AND landscape, everything is fine, but the rendering of Herald when landscape is that bad that I like cleartype in portrait only, but:
2) when cleartype switched on in portrait only, and I slide out the keyboard and going to write a message with landscape, it's very funny because the screen is partly cleartype on and off It seems to be the top part of screen without cleartype, but the buttom part with cleartype, which is not very fine
so the only usable option for me is to disable cleartype completely.
do you see the same with your herald?
Hi all,
I'm programming an application running over a Creme JVM on Qtek 9000, but I have a problem: I'd like the screen not to autorotate, I'd like to have it always on landscape mode, but it always turns back to portrait mode if switched of or simply if rotated to "PDA mode" (with the touch screen hiding the hardware keyboard).
I searched for registry keys to modify, but couldn't find anything except hiding the icon on the task bar, but it's not my objective ...
Is there a way (by registry key, or by firmware upgrade) to set the screen in landscape mode and maintain it so indefinitely ?
Thank you in advance.
The diamond/opal keyboards available have a feature to automatically switch keyboard type when switched to landscape mode, is there a way to change any type of registry so that the keyboard changed when switched to landscape would be null keyboard?? Or at least a tool that lets you choose which sip you would like on portrait and landscape modes would be an awesome help
PhoneAlarm has a setting for landscape and portrait default SIP, but I could not get it to work.
You can do this with Mortscript. Take a look in the script accumulation thread, there just may be one in there.
Hi,
I've used the 'advanced configuration tools' to enable screen rotation. The rotation itself works fine, but when enabling the keyboard, the second row is missing (on the 270° rotated screen). When switching back to normal, the keboardy is complete again.
Am I the only one with this problem and can I fix it somehow?
Cheers,
ratsche
Same problem here. I think the default keyboard is just not meant to be used in landscape mode, so I installed Resco keyboard and use it when in landscape.
Just select the standard keyboard in stead of the Complete qwerty keyboard.
IPAQ 910C, stock ROM.
Normally a WM 6.1 Pro device has a setting to change the screen orientation, between portrait and landscape.
Quite unfortunately, HP seems to have blocked that capability in the IPAQ 910.
Especially unfortunate, because the 910's 240x320 screen is landscape, while the standard PPC screen is portrait. Therefore, I find that some of my older PPC apps won't work on it, as they expect the portrait orientation.
Without reflashing the ROM, is there something i could to to get back the screen orientation settings, so that I can change between landscape and portrait? A registry tweak?
