Text message delayed by an hour - EVO 4G General

So I'm on the phone with sprint as we speak, I gave them my account info, and they are telling me the number in my account which is the evo line had been disconnected since july. Wtf is going on with spring lately? How can that be is this is my daily personal line? I initially called them because my text was coming in hours late.

What does this have do with anything? (In a nice tone)

Its in the general section, I posted to see what other users have to say or if they had this issue before...

Sprint reps for the most part are idiots. I work for AT&T and it's funny how they talk like they know what they are talking about. I just listen to their whole lecture and then school them on what they should be saying to the next person.

I know the Feb 7th announcement

The announcement will be that the Steelers won the Superbowl

Sure...
I spoke to sprint advanced tech support and he hinted that it would be a Sprint iPhone, though he admitted he would not put money down on that.
It will NOT be a Sprint iPhone. if it is I will cancel my service with them immediately for two reasons.
1. An IPhone for Sprint = not an industry first (people aren't seeming to grasp this one, though its not necessarily your prediction just what a rep said)
2. The iPhone 4 is already a device that is on the brink of obsolete. In a world where dual cores and 4g are becoming standard, the people buying iPhone for Verizon are asking to get left behind. If Sprint, who has been doing a great job of staying ahead of the game, decides that taking two steps back and calling it an "industry first" is a wise new game plan, I may as well throw in the towel.
Remember, a vast majority of sales reps, really don't know what they are even talking about.

May have been slight exaggeration... but, innovation and making that tiny effort to stay ahead is the main reason I go with sprint. The fact being that the company has been doing a great job leading the game without being the biggest in sales or subscribers would make all this fuss over an obsolete phone, instead of putting that money to better uses, would definitely make me question if I should go to Verizon or ATT for their soon to be superior phones (atrix, bionic, thunderbolt) if that makes sense.
It would be a huge letdown to me if all this hubbub was over a phone two other carriers have.
I really don't think the announcement is going to be the Iphone. I doubt Sprint will even get Iphone on there service until the Iphone 5 is out with 4G and a dual core. Anyway this thread was meant to be a joke. See, the OP said that Sprint's big announcement will be that the Steelers won the Super Bowl, which would not be making the impossible, possible. I hope the Packers win just because they beat my Eagles and the Eagles actually should have won since they lost by 5 and the Pro Bowl field goal kicker missed 2 FG which would have been 6 points and the win. I guess I could take a little more pride in losing by so little to the eventual SB champs.
I highly doubt Sprint is going to spend the money to get the Iphone on their service. Just Google how much Verizon will spend on Iphone. If Sprint does just expect some serious rate hikes on your next plan.

Lol. Hate the Steelers, but don't really care about the Packers either. Should be good though.
The thread was a joke... and I got myself a chuckle from it haha. Mostly because steelers=black and yellow, sprint = black and yellow, and.my music player = wiz khalifa "black and yellow" all in one glorious moment of things adding up just right haha.
My posts are simply at my infernal irritation at people desperately clinging to hope that its an iPhone (which I admit to being a very biased, avid iPhone hater), and the relentless "My sales rep said...." comments. Odds are, if anyone in the public REALLY knew? EVERYONE in the public would know. It's called a leak champ. haha.

that would be a first but they can't even get Qik to work right. They need to enhance the service before bringing some phone with a hinge into the mix. EVO's screen is big enough WTF am I gonna really do with 2 and 3D don't ever go there. I need a 3D phone like I need a hole in my head. I can put my foot on a hinge while Sprint wears some 3D glasses and kickem in the face. This is upsetting.

I will agree that the Echo is a big disappointment, and I comment on sprints facebook that way.
After watching that youtube, (before that all I saw was the one pic showing off the huge hinge) the echo does look kinda cool. It's the processer, and the rest of the specs are weak.
Has anybody seen how much RAM/ROM it has? Also is that the second gen snapdragon, like the 800mhz one in the G2? The running two seperate screens at once is kinda cool.
Someone needs to be fired.

Epic fail in my book, Ill just keep my Evo until they release something worth upgrading to...
I find it hard to believe that there wasnt a handful of people at sprint that thought this was a terrible idea. I wonder it this was a one or two man mainshow as far as approval of the idea of the phone.
There is literally one or two positive comments amongst hundreds of borderline verbally "violent" comment against the Echo.
Makes you wonder if Dan just said "We are doing this phone, if you dont like it then your fired" or if the even did any market testing????

Seriously? This is what Sprint got all excited about. A single screen dual core phone would have been much, much more exciting.
I think Kyocera makes the best music....listen to the song they have on the youtube ad....It's great! I feel like I'm back in the '80s!
im pretty sure majority of sprint agreed that it was a failure, but kyocera pushed money and persuasion into this event.... im willing to bet sprint wanted nothing to do with this phone and kyocera paid for the event, not sprint.
So was this the equivalent of being rick rolled by sprint? I never expected to get trolled by my own phone company, they should know its bad business to play with peoples emotions when you are trying to get money from them.
But then again this is the same company who called the epic, well, the epic.

Im just wondering because im looking at the CTIA schedule and see AT&T, Qualcom and some other mobile announcements but I dont see anything from Sprint on there. So im just wondering...

EVO 2 and WiMax are on hold right now, with Sprint's ongoing saga with Clearwire. It's at a point where they are thinking of going complete LTE, and just move away from Clearwire/WiMax. Clear could avoid this death wish, by using Sprint's Network Vision and calling it a day. Both companies will make an substantial amount of money, and your 3G speeds will be back to normal.
The only way the EVO 2 debuts at CTIA, is if HTC/Sprint rehash the Inspire 4G/Thunderbolt/Desire Z for Sprint, and call it the EVO 2. It won't be close to the actual original EVO 2 designs(Sabor wasn't either), but to appease the public, that is what may happen. By the way, HTC/Sprint's love child has been in the works a year and a half before Engadget leaked the news. "Supersonic" wasn't even the original codename for the device. News did leaked months before the device dropped, but that info was late too.

Funny his comment regarding AT&T's deal to acquire T-Mo, though! Dan Hesse got asked if he was just gonna stay quiet about it, and he says (paraphrase), "Well, I think the DOJ, the FCC might have something to say on it."
just a bunch of disgusting FLITHY rich old men on the stage talking about nothing. GTFO and tell us about the phones!
Jim to Hesse: "I get very angry when my phone freezes. Who's at fault? Why do things freeze?" Hesse: "Wait, didn't you say you have Verizon?"
Ha. The crowd erupted in laughter. I admit, it was great timing and not too direct, which worked.
Oh yea did you notice how the verizon CEO clammed up when asked about unlimited data?? BYE BYE unlimited on verizon 4G, enjoy for a few months, its outta there. LMAO!!!!

Well, we're sure to find that all carriers will most likely be joining in on nixing unlimited data. Sprint seems to be most reluctant, at this point, and will likely be the last to join (based on speculation).
But, hey, I'll take unlimited data for longer than any other carrier for as long as I can get.

Honestly, in this business, I think everything is 'for now". He knows being truly unlimited is what keep Sprint above water.. so if he does start to throttle or cap data.. I think it will be a because he has to.
Most rooted users who abuse wireless tether aren't helping keep things unlimited, just keep that in mind.
Notice how the CEO of Verizon just walked away, where as ATT and Sprint CEO's were laughing and shaking hands LOL, Sprint's CEO was just laying down the burns on verizon which made me laugh pretty hard
