What kind of sim card format is used in the G2/Desire Z? I'm asking because I plan to get one on Bell and swap my SIM from my SGS to it and vice-versa depending on my moods.
Do they share the same form factor? The SGS uses a standard SIM card.
yup just a regular simcard size not those micro ones found on the iphone4

Thanks! That's what I wanted to hear! Being able to keep my SGS and still use it as a phone once I get my Desire Z is something nice.

Greetings Streakers!
I'm getting my new Streak tomorrow and have a SIM card question. I'm a long term ATT customer (coming from WM) and have a working SIM in my current Touch Pro 2. I understand the Streak comes with a new SIM card. Is there any reason to have the local ATT shop move my stuff to the new card, or is it okay to just use the old one? Thanks!
Stephen
I just took the one from my TIlt2 and stuck it in - works just fine. I threw the new one in the bottom of a drawer just in case I ever need one.

Okay Thanks!
I had heard from a friend that the newer SIM cards provide faster data speeds. I'm not sure about this though...
I'm thinking about switching my old SIM card when my Streak comes in just in case

Depends on how old your current sim card is. If it is the old white and blue (i think that was the color) and says cingular, then i suggest using the new ones that say 3G on them.
even old sim cards from the 2g gprs era will get you the fastest data speeds. if your card is over 10 years old, then yeah, you might want to use the new sim card. but if youre already coming from a 3g smartphone, theres no advantage to using a new sim card.
I want to remove the SIM card from my still working Infuse and put it in my s3. The problems is that sim card in the new S3 is about half the size as the older standard Sim card. Do I have to go to the ATT store and have them program a new sim card that fits my S3 with my new number?

i used a micro SIM cutter and cut my existing SIM card to fit in, coming from my atrix. just wanted to try it. i could connect to network but could not get data. so i just activated the micro SIM it came with instead.
why didn't your phone come with a micro SIM?

They should. They may charge you the $36 'activation fee' for the new SIM.
I'm fairly certain you need a new SIM due to the GS3 being LTE, and the Infuse being HSPA+.
I just made the switch, myself, this morning...from Infuse. What a difference!!!
32gbps speeds here in NYC.

The only places that will charge you for a new sim are "authorized" sales channels, not corporate owned AT&T stores. Go into ANY corporate AT&T store and you'll have a working SIM in a few minutes, no questions asked, free of charge. They'll probably ask to play with your phone or try to sell you accessories though.

You have to have the correct size SIM card (the N4 uses micro SIM). If you don't have the correct size, then you can just go to an AT&T store and ask them to swap you out with the size you need. It should be free.

Any advise guys?
I dont think dual sims are normally sold in the US. I purchased my from hongkong. Although i live in the UK i do like to use dual sims. However samsung s7 has one big problem. You can either use 2 sims or 1 sim and 1 sd card combination.

Yes I know dual sims is not big in US. This unit will be sent to my family in India hence the dual sim question. There is a hack to use 2 Sims plus microSD card but that's for later. Right now I want to know if there is a way to use two sims on my phone's model.
Thanks!

One cannot use two sims atleast on the atnt model.
Thanks for chipping in.

yeaa I search it too , to Crack second imei in the phone but
no good way now
or can't found it...
Are there any US carriers whose Sim card will fit in 2nd Sim card slot? AT&T and T-Mobile don't fit.
Why don't they fit? Both sim slots have the same network bands.
The US variants (included the unlocked models) are NOT dual sim devices.

Neither has a card the same size as the slot. Either too big or too small.
I have dual SIM. Att sim fits in both slots. Perhaps you have the wrong type of sim.

Perhaps you are trying to put the second sim onto single sim version tray.

I would doubt the tray is because on the dual sim tray the same size card fits in both slots
So either you have the wrong tray.. Or you have a single sim phone

That's the clue right there.
On the box you will see two IMEIs.
Mine has DUOS on the box as well.
The tray for DUOS can accept dual sim cards or a single sim and microSD card.
With 1TB storage the need for the microSD is moot except perhaps if the need to transfer a lot of data.
For most transfers, wifi5 and airdroid suffice.

My sim tray is exactly like this
https://www.google.co.th/search?q=s...biw=412&bih=771&dpr=2.63#imgrc=wAlKBc0SGWlfdM
There should be no problem at all fitting both nano sims.

Can't really tell if you are being sarcastic or genuinely trying to be helpful. But yes it is a dual SIM card model, it has 2 imei #, under setting it shows the empty 2nd Sim card. No card fits in it. I'd accept it was my not knowing how to put a Sim card in a phone, even though my S8+ was also a dual sim model, if I hadn't been to both AT&T and T-Mobile stores and no one could make it work. Really glad you got yours to, but it doesn't fit in my device.

Calm down man. People here are trying to help you. Since almost no one here has ever had problem inserting sim card, and you don't tell us much about the detail, we then assume you have single sim variant, wrong sim tray, etc.
It would be a lot easier if you just take a picture of your sim card tray and post in here so we all can understand what really happen.
If you cannot post picture or whatever other reasons, just cut the sim card to make it fit. I used to cut many normal sims to micro sims and micro sims to nano sims in the past (nowadays, all operators in my country make 3 in 1 sim cards that I can pop out whatever size I wanted).
However, I am absolutelyx3 certain that nano sim fits S10 second sim slot.

The sim type for both is the same. So if your card does not fit in slot 2 I can only assume the wrong sim carrier has been supplied
I would either goto a Samsung experience store or talk to the supplier of the phone and advise them and try to get another sim carrier from them
But there is certainly no need for a different type of sim

Amazon. Pretty sure it's the right tray. The slot says microSD/Sim 2. Will take the advice of previous post and take it to a Samsung store. Not a huge deal it was just convenient to have 1 phone instead of 2 since I work on sales and have customers calling all the time
