Come on guys....
does that mean no one using this automatic pairing ?
'm still being postive on this thread
Cheers
I would be amazed if it was true, it would be a huge bluetooth security hole if it was !!! if you can force a headset to pair with out authentication you can force anything to pair !!! are you sure you understood correctly
Don't you mean that the sound was automatically sent to the headset when a call comes in? Automatic pairing is something I have never heard of. I guess the guy paired his headset, so that when a call comes in, he hears it autmatically in his headset. Sounds more logical and feasible to me.
Why would you want to pair automatically anyway? Just pair it in the morning when you wake up, and use it all day till you switch it off. Only thing I can imagine would be battery save, but that would mean that an incoming call would have to activate both the BT on your phone and on your headset. And that is not possible, since without BT connection ( paired) no signals from the phone come to the headset.
ice_coffee -- Though I didn't see the subtle details of the mentioned software i think we'll have to pair with our BT device (proper authentication) which will be saved by the program and these details wud be used as and when incoming call comes ....
Koksie -- ur intuition is correct ....i.e. reason to do this stuff is to save battery.... bluetoooth drains exec very rapidly.....
if none of you all seen that post then i should be dreaming :!:
i'll continue my search and update the thread if i'm successful
Thanks for your inputs guys....
Cheers
Pairing is pairing but turning bluetooth on for an incoming or outgoing call is something else. PockeZenPhone has this option but it doesn't work cause it takes to long to turn on bluetooth and connect the headset before loosing your call.
Oh.. not it make sense. I think what he means is that, you had your headset and phone paired (with code and stuff). However, the headset or phone bluetooth may be off. And once there is a call coming in, it will switch on the headset/bluetooth on phone.

Bt headset and two HTC's!!!

Hi,
I have htc 3600, HTC Mteor and SonyEricsson HBH-600!
I can't use headset with both devices at the same time (not same call, i think on normal use of two devices) , because headset will connect on first device and ignore other!
It's little bit unuseless for me and the same problem was with HTC & Nokia 6230, and qtek s200 & Nokia 6230, my previous combination!!
The question is which BT headset to buy, device that will be smart enough to disconnect from htc after call to be ready for receiving call from 2nd htc....
Thanks,
Regards
look here: http://www.omiz.com.cn/new/products.asp?cat=4
...scroll down for the twin-cellphone bluetooth headset.
enjoy

You can also use the Plantronics Voyager 510.
It supports BT Multipoint, I use it myself to switch between my trinity and PC programs like skype and MSN.
I think it works great.
Scala 700
will do the job as well...

Ill try with plantronics, tnx to all...

Any ideas about a stereo BT headset that would deliver this fucntionality?
Cheers.
I wouldn't buy a BT stereo headset just yet, at least not until a ROM update.
Use the search function in this forum and you'll see that their are still some problems with it.
I really want to get a pair too, I really like the set from jabra but until the BT stereo issues are fixed I won't buy them.

Hi guys !
Do you know if Jabra BT 800 works in this way ?
Thanks

No ringtone via bluetooth

Searched the Blackstone forums but did not find any post/thread regarding this particular problem .....
I'm a new Blackstone owner (and a newbie on this forum). Love the device but one major issue I have is that ringtones dont come through via the BT headset. I have assigned different ringtones to people and based on the tone of an incoming call, I should be able to screen calls without looking at the phone ..... or so I thought.
My phone : Blackstone (ROM 1.14.405.X). Dec/7 hotfix from HTC installed (since ROM is older than 1.19)
My BT : Jabra BT3030 stereo headset (AVRCP works fine)
Can anyone please help ?
Thanks !!
Try assigning a long ringtone as there is a lag and this may be cutting off the ringtone
Thanks winwiz. Tried that without luck. I only get the default beep-beep in the BT headset warning me of the incoming call ......
Bump !!
Can anyone of you folks help me with this ?
I tried a few tricks - set a looooong ringtone (2 minute song) ...... selected a single ringtone for all contacts ...... but no luck, still get only beep-beep via the BT stereo headset for incoming calls, while the phone itself plays the correct ringtone.
Funny thing though - music comes through fine on the BT (A2DP works fine) and I'm also able to control music without issues (AVRCP also works fine).
Any help/suggestions are welcome !!
Cheers !!

I'm a little out of touch with the very latest gear - BUT - would the headset output the ringtone?? Surely it just has it's own ringtone that is the only one it can play, whenever a call comes in?
It seems to me that to send the .mp3 file over bluetooth to a device that doesn't seem big enough to have a full codec supply would tax the Bluetooth bandwidth somewhat!

A2DP is used for stereo music, not for talking. Maybe its just not possible (with your headset). But I'm quite unexperienced with bluetooth headsets .

Hello Riceburner .... today's Bluetooth headsets do indeed play your phone ringtone. But it should have A2DP feature that allows music to stream in and your phone should also have A2DP to "send" the music to your headset.
The .mp3 file does not get sent to the bluetooth .... the mp3 plays on your phone as a ringtone when you get a call and the A2DP feature then streams it to your BT headset where you then hear the ringtone.
This can have a lag of even a few seconds, hence the suggestion from winwiz a few posts back to use a long playing ringtone.
johnpatcher - A2DP is indeed not for talking, but it is necessary for the ringtone to play in your headset until you answer the call at which time the traditional bluetooth kicks in to handle voice.
Cheers !!
Can anyone help ?
Here is a consolidation of the issue and my attempts to overcome :
My phone : Blackstone (ROM 1.14.405.X). ROM date Oct/24/2008
Any hotfixes : Yes - since ROM is older than 1.19, applied the Dec/7/2008 hotfix from HTC that addresses screen freeze during multi clicks.
My Bluetooth headset : Jabra BT3030 stereo headset (A2DP and AVRCP works fine with the Touch HD phone)
Problem : Phone ringtone does not play through the BT headset. I get only a "beep-beep" on the BT headset for incoming calls, while the phone itself plays the correct ringtone.
Tried the following :
1) set a long ringtone (2 minute long song) as suggested by winwiz. No luck
2) Selected a single ringtone for all contacts. Still no luck
3) Paired the exact same BT headset with another phone (symbian OS) and it works perfectly - A2DP, AVRCP as well as phone ringtone comes through via the headset. Frustrated !!!
Any help/suggestions are welcome !!
Could this be a WinMo issue as opposed to a Blackstone bug ? Found the following thread ........
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310438
One way to find out ...... can folks spare a few minutes to post their experience in using A2DP heasets with the Blackstone - were you successfully able to hear ringtones via your headset ?
Cheers !!
*Bump*

I have a BT headset too that can A2DP. (SE DS-980) I don't think its meant for it to transfer ringtones as what one poster mentioned. Anyway, whenever my phone rings, I can hear the tone from my phone and a common single tone from the headset then the contact info is displayed in the LCD so I know who's calling. Another option is if you have MSVC, you can set it to alert you who is calling and only through the BT headset when it connected. That way you'd know who's calling you.

thanks kieboy
guess i'll install MSVC
I use my A2DP headset to listen to music on my embedded helmet speakers while in my bike. And of course, to answer calls too. So, looking to the phones screen isnĀ“t a option and the custom ring tones would be VERY usefull
but, if there's no other work around...

streaming music over BT and A2DP

i seem to get handsfree phone only when i connect the omnia 7 to my FMT300 BT handsfree car kit. I cannot stream music !
the FMT300 works fine with my BB Torch and HTC Desire
is this to normal?
Handsfree Device is the only Bluetooth profile supported by WP7 currently.
thx for your reply, and what a big disappointment.
so why do they post it in the specs if it doesnt work ?

very misleading !

Disappointing! I remember WinMo 6.x had pretty much every Bluetooth profile under the sun! I'm going to try it with my BT headphones... see if anything happens.

Done! I turned on Bluetooth and my headpones appeared instantly (as "headset"). Connected fine. I can play music through my Bluetooth headphones - tried using a marketplace sample as I don't store music on my phone.
@CreepinJesus,
thx for giving this a try, this made me give it a go at my older Parrot PMK5800 kit and guess what, the Omnia 7 was happy to pair and play music with this kit.
"can't have it all" i guess, but at least it proves a2dp over bt could work
cheers
Perhaps it only allows music playack over headphone devices and not hands-free kits? I don't have a hands-free thing to test it with.
I've been able to play music through A2DP to my Sony Ericcson MW600 headset no problem. A2DP is definitely supported by Windows Phone 7.
There is however, an issue with video. Video sound still comes out of the phone speaker, and is not sent over Bluetooth. It's an issue with WP7, not the phone and hopefully will be fixed in an update.
I can stream music over my Motorola T505 car speakerphone just fine
Enclosed the reply from the supplier (Technaxx):
"The music stereo streaming depends on the mobile phone functions.
Check if your mobile phone can be connected with the transmitter over the A2DP protocol.
(Some phones need to be connected with 2 separate BT profiles: BT Headset and A2DP)"
no clue what this all means.
As far as I can see the Omnia does not allow for any settings, right?
it just connects and one hopes it works
this apposed to my BB Torch where i can set different kinds of connections, the Omnia has no settings at all.
A2DP is the profile it needs to use for music. I think your headset is connecting only with the headset profile, so it cann't play music.
I'm not sure if you can set profiles... If you can, somehow, you need to set your headset to use A2DP, then you will be able to play music through it.
Thx for your reply.
The thing is the "headset" is an FM carkit and A2DP works fine when i connect any of my other phones (Palm Pre, Palm Plus, BB Torch and HTC Desire). In all these cases i get both handsfree phone and music streaming. No special settings needed. These phones also all allow me to change the type of connection from within the phone afterwards.
None of that when i connect the Omnia 7. Al i get is handsfree phone calls (a handsfree connected confirmation window pops up). No other connections ...
So i really think it is an Omnia 7 "absence of settings" compatibility problem. There are no settings available in the phone.
I am using my BB Torch at the moment also because market is not available in the Netherlands ...... not much fun with this phone
dont know what happened but i gave it another try today and now it seems to be working.
unbelievable ...
the thing is you still do not get to see the profiles that have been set but it works ..
thanks everybody for the support ...
