[Q] Where I can find OEM? - Windows Mobile

Sorry for the noob question. I'm just trying to build my first ROM, 23563 build for my HTC Diamond. Following your great tutorial, I'm able to work with SYS and XIP and initflash.dat.
But I don't know where to find the OEM folder (OEMDrivers etc..). Can I take it from the original stock ROM (It's 6.1)? However I notice a LOT of files and folders in it. Should i use all of those files? Could I clean it in some way?
Thanks!

Use the OEM from the latest stock rom. There's probably a few kitchens out there for the diamond, so it will be easiest to get a working oem from a kitchen.
Of course there are a lot of files in the oem, and many are very important. Some are complete junk. Use trial and error to figure it out.

prepare_imgfs for ipaq HW69xx

Hi, after some research (German and Spanish ROM from HP, and dumped ROM from spgi), I present you a modest modification of prepare_imgfs which works with the ROMs is it supposed to.
Of course, the dumped ROM from spgi doesn't need it to be correctly extracted since it's a dump (and dumps are not encoded!)
to use it:
prepare_imgfs.exe CEOS.nbf -i (or -ipaqHW69xx)
and then to extract the content (a dump directory will be created):
viewimgfs.exe imgfs_raw_data.bin
Modifications "should" work but I cannot test it (I just did it for pleasure).
Of course: thanks itsme, mamaich and all gurus who share source code.
Modifications: rate=0x10089; step=0x10000; skip=0x89;
and now make_imgfs
USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK...
make_imgfs.exe YOURROMFILE.nba -i (or -ipaqHW69xx)
Should work (tested by comparing a ROM with a decrypted and re-encrypted ROM => no change).
As addfile/delfile/buildimgfs works only in nosplit mode, the imgfs_removed_data.bin file could be invalid, so keep a safe backup of these data (just in case) and restore it before using make_imgfs. That way, the imgfs_removed_data.bin file will remain as valid as possible (if it's a CRC or sth like that... it could not work).
Try to make a very small modification (like a background image) to see if it works before cooking.
Good luck!

I don't even have a 6915!
All I know is:
-nobody made it for 6915
-based on a correct imgfs_raw_data.bin + correct imgfs_removed_data.bin + correct ROM (for bootloader and headers), you obtain a valid ROM
now you have to find how to create a correct imgfs_raw_data.bin and a correct imgfs_removed_data.bin. More informations are available on ROM kitchen making guides (all along the threads) and one of the already found methods may work (with small modifications)
I tried to make a buildimgfs, it should work but some things in the source code are obscure to me, and doesn't permit me to validate the tool...
But you can find it by yourself... I made those tools without having the device... you have the device, you could try WITH MASSIVE PRECAUTIONS! read all ROM problem threads to be sure you cleared every possible problems! Reading is the only thing important in such operations... Then try to create a ROM, see if this ROM can be dumped as an official one...
You need to try to use USB Monitor during an upgrade to see if more informations are needed (if we could be sure imgfs_removed_data.bin is useless, it would make the thing easier)
Read, Read, Read!
Many others problems (CID Unlock) seem to have be done, but nobody shares the how to, same for ROM Dump from device...
It's just sad the 6915 community doesn't try to solve their problems by themselves... I mean the community as an ensemble...
bumpity bump
Will Try Soon, And Post Results
I have did this about a 8 months ago, and got some error, my data cable is broke, so once my new one gets in I will post the results
This doesnt extract the ROM right? This lets us play with it after? We still need to find a way to extract the ROM without errors.

I have backed up everything I can with awizard. It is posted in your WM6 port thread pg 3. Awizard won't let me backup the radio but I have a copy of the OS. I'm not sure how we can get all of it, no one has had any luck getting a complete backup.

Upgrading to 6.5

Hi,
I guess this is one of the top5 most answered questions arround, but i seemed unable to find any useful answer by searching myself and so i guess i should ask before i damage my phone in any way ;0)
Well, what do i have in mind? Ah yes, i wanted to upgrade my ROM to Windows6.5 using Billabongs rom in the rom section (ok, i say ROM one more time just because the previous sentence had so many ROMs in it.. hmpf).
Yet i would like to retain a copy of my original rom just in case that i have to send the phone to the company when it breaks (still have warranty). From what i figured out i need 'only' to dump the 4 Raw files using the 'Dump my phone' package. Currently i am doing this, but i am on Part2 for now about 15 minutes.. filesize not changing.. then as the next step i understood i had to use kaiserkitchen - which seems at first look to be something you have to have a diplom to use it.. wow, what an exciting challange ;0)
Now when that is done i should be able to upload the new rom, right? or did i miss something? Is there maybe a 12-step program i missed somewhere for upgrading roms? Years ago on the prophet it all seemed so easy.....
*edit* in the meantime my files were created. I have two RAW files at hand which i can 'decompress' with viewimgfs - so dumoing seemed to work.. now the question is how to make these RAW things become flashable roms again?
Thanks in advance
Currently I am trying to backup the original ROM too using dumpmyphone. The HardSPL unlocker worked but before I continue to install billabongstaffs ROM. I want to backup the original ROM.
Currently I start up dumpmyphone (downloaded from billabongstaffs post). A dos window opens with the message 'CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x3c0000, Part01.RAW)', then the next one CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x7800000, Part02.raw). I get 2 RAW files (after a long time) one small one (about 4 mb) and one big one (about 128 mb). Then DOS says: push a button to continue. Dos window closes. Is it done now?
*edit*: same question, when needed: how do I install the original rom again?
hey, does anyone know this? Before I update my phone I would like to know how to backup the original may anything go wrong. I tried searching the forums but I cant find a clear explanation.
sorry that I bump this topic but does anyone know this???
What is the rom you have? There are already flashable stock roms here in Rom Development forum. If you have a european or an asian rom for sure you can find them here.
If you have another language rom, then you can use the raw file that you have already dump(the larger is the rom). You can reconstruct it to an nbh flashable file with Ervius Visual kitchen, which have an option to create nbh file from a raw.

New HTC Rose @};- Project

Hello everyone!I had started a project for our devices (and yes this mean a holl new ROM) I started this days to make something and I managed to do something but need a lot of help from other users of this section of the forum who have knowledge of ROM cooking,so for those of you that want to help improving this project I want a PM from you.
Use my kitchen, with it you can extract ROMs and cook ROMs without problems... I don't exactly know why you are being so overly excited in the General Hacking Forum, since all that you need is already there, use it!
no the prb. is that i need more support for ex how to extract a .nb image?or how to extract from a ROM the programs that it haves?Because with yours i didn`t manage to do something to different and now i`m preparing the build a new ROM 6.5.3 with new XIP and new SYS
In my kitchen go to TOOLS -> bats -> extract.bat and open it in an editor, it should tell you everything you need to know about extracting roms (the nbimagetool extracts pretty much every *.nbh and *.nb you throw at it). Once the dump is put into packages by the pkgtool, the programs are sorted into those packages (if the cook didn't prevent this for example by deleting the dsm files during the cooking process, in this case all you get is a veeeeery long list of files )...
EDIT: I forgot to mention, I had a lot of problems with the 6.5.3 emulator image, the home screen wouldn't rotate (CHome that is). And I figured that 6.5.3 isn't worth the hassle on non-touch screen WM phones (I am moving to Android soon anyway )
I also had some problems with the SYS when i was trying to make G`reloc and gived me a Skybox language error and stoped, but after I deleted Skybox it worked like a charm .Did you had this to?
That's normal. G'Reloc doesn't support the new modules of WM 6.5 that are allocated to memory slots that don't exist in previous WM versions. So you either remove or recmod the modules or you use wmreloc instead of G'Reloc...
yes i found out that if I remove it everything is ok i removed it with unlocker but now i want to try wmreloc hope it will go without errors
I always used the recmod mehtod, but removing skybox makes sense anyway, because it's available in the market...
Something for you to read on the topic: http://www.techparaiso.com/windows-...memory-and-native-kernels-in-windows-phone-os
So it`s better to remove it because eats lot of memory anyway I don`t use it but I wanted to be included exactly like in the original ROM but in the last days I was thinking to do it different and I will do probably a light version and one customize by my own needs but I would love also to know what the users would want to include,so waiting for some proposals

What are you trying to do? Unless you are cooking ROMs, you have no reason to open one. Even then, you wouldn't be able to use the file without the original kitchen.
nbh files contain the ROMs that are flashed to your device. It is flashed by way of a CustomRUU.exe or via the bootloader from your SD card. I suggest reading up on flashing HERE before going any further.
Is this what you're looking for?
No, based on his other posts, this is what he is looking for:

I think he was trying to do what I was trying to do. I wanted to easily edit a couple different pieces of the NRG ROM. There were a couple things I was looking to edit, but I think it was actually repoint (or airextreme or someone, anyways its not important) who told me I would have to get what kitchen that NRG himself used and try to recompose his ROM from what he told me.

You can't edit a custom ROM without access to the original kitchen. Most chefs aren't going to give you access to that, so you can either build your own or see if they would make a special ROM just for you. They might do it for a small donation.
The OPs posts AFTER this thread are ones asking how to HardSPL. He is most almost certainly just learning how to flash a ROM, and didn't know what to do with the files; and not trying to cook a ROM.
ondo hardSPL
HardSPL! ok now i net to try undo HardSPL! can anyone help? please!!!!????

[Q] AutoInstall on Stock rom

Hi everybody.
i just flashed back to stock rom and want to give it a try. since right after i bought the phone i always had cooked roms on it and they all came with an autoinstall feature. now after hard resetting i face installing a lot of cab files and certainly don't want to do it manually.
i tried renaming my AutoInstall folder to 2577, hoping it would be processed then (it didn't), i looked through the entire rom for a similar feature, found none. can anyone tell me, how to get an entire folder of cabs installed?
- could anyone upload their autoinstaller, for instance from NRG or cloudy rom?
- is there a stock way to process a folder of cabs?
- is there maybe a portable tool (Autoinstall.exe) available somewhere?
- could autorun.exe files, that often come with a 2577 folder of satnav software process all cabs in their folder? if so, could someone please upload one?
thanks in advance
Would Sashimi help?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538513&highlight=backup
thanks for the tip. meanwhile i got so bored with the stock rom, not offering enough features for my everyday use, i changed to energy rom, which comes with XDA_UC autoinstall, and before ever flashing back to stock, i will extract the autoinstall from this rom. still sashimi is an interesting thing. after all, energy roms get updated so often, there is a lot of backup/restore to do, it might come handy.
As stated, SASHIMI appears to be your way forward. Goodluck
