After using G1 with either Super-D or CM on it for a while, I'm quite shocked to see that T-mobile did not bother to add any locales other then English and Spanish into G2. Is there anything we can do about it without root or does it need to be compiled into the rom?
Get "more locales" from the market.

I bought an HTC Magic a couple of weeks ago, and yesterday I got it. But then I realized that it only has english language. I know english but I speak spanish, I have read a lot of topics but haven't found a way to put spanish into the rom (with dictionary included).
So, my question is if there is an original HTC Magic Rom with spanish language included that I can install (I know how to root and everything), I don't need a modded rom (with apps and other stuff), I'm only looking for a way to instal the original rom but multilanguage if it's possible.
Thanks in advance to everybody who read this...
PD: I've already tried to searching the forum with no succes (I couldn't find anything )...
Tahnk you everybody.
Flash a ROM.
Several customs ROM ports nowadays are multilingual...whether it's the keyboard characters, or the displayed TEXT and settings on the screen; developers have done it. You just need to find the right one.
Trust me, in fact...I have a ROM flashed on my G1 now, a HERO port from JACxHEROski that right from the get-go allows you to alter the language settings prior to continuing to setup the device. That's almost standard with most well built ROMS.
I know, but I'm looking for a rom with no customization if it's possible.
I like the customized roms, but I prefer to have one with no modifications if it's possible. But I'm unable to find one
Hi there!
I have an Aria, i bought it on Ebay. It's an unlocked At&t version.
I already installed the "liberated_aria_FR007" rom (with Sense), i realy love it, but i'm looking for a default Android's rom, only to test it.
Today i probed the Cyamogen's rom, and i didn't like it, the spanish translation is weak and the menu is very caotic for me .
Do you know guys if there is a rom without Sense, no Cyamogen version, and rooted at least?
PD: sorry for my english.
I'm surprised the translation was so bad! I guess there aren't enough good spanish speaking devs, maybe a bit too much Google translate going on. Maybe you should offer to help, hint, hint...=D
AFAIK Cyanogen is the only non-sense ROM out there, and it certainly flies on this phone.
Oh, i see.
I going to stay with the FR007's rom for now.
Maybe i will use the Cyamogen's version when they fix the radio (doesn't work on the actual version).
Greetings.
You can always install ADW or Launcher Pro if you want to go without Sense...

I rooted my Mytouch 4g and installed CM7 on it few days ago. The Rom is running awsome super fast and everything is working like it should. I only have one problem, I want the keyboard that came with the phone stock back. Is there anyway I can get it back? Somebody maybe have the apk for it? I looked all over the Forum and web and cant find it The reason I want the original one is the configuration I"m used to and I had english and turkish on it and word prediction worked great without having to change from english to tr like you have to on smartkeyboard for example.
Thank you for any help you guys can give
Hi, my parents recently purchased a T Mobile MyTouch 4g and I was surprised that they didn't include the Chinese display package in there, only English and Spanish. Is there a way for me to add Chinese Display onto the 4g? I'm sorry if there's already been a thread on this, I did a few searches and couldnt find it and I'm at work now so I cant spend my entire time browsing through this forum. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Try the miui rom from thederekjay. Look for it in the android development thread. Go with version 1.5.20 as v1.5.27 is a bit buggy. I have had no problems with 1.5.20. Miui rom's come from China and has an user interface that people say is similar to the iphone. I like it alot and it has options for traditional and simplified Chinese. I checked already to make sure. Hopes this helps!

Thanks alot, appreciate the help. Now I have to read and learn how to flash the phone.
Is it possible to extract the ROM of android HTC DZ ?
if yes,
- does it have to be rooted ?
- Can I flash it on another phone (same model) ?
Not exactly clear what you are trying to do. Are you trying to migrate an exact image of your current phone (with settings, data, etc) to another phone?
Here is what am trying to do:
My phone does not have Arabic since I bought it from the UK and my friends here have the Middle East version which contains Arabic. HTC refuses to install the Arabic on phones with IMEI not for the Middle East so I was thinking if I can take a copy from another ME phone.
Is it clear ?
why dont you just download more locale 2 from the market and add arabic language
i think youre gonna save a LOT of time ; )

Android 2.2 does not support Arabic and so there is no such thing as Arabic language in Market.
Android 2.2 displays Arabic letters but from left to right and not connected. HTC added layer to support correct RTL script and this is what am looking for
It might save you the hassle or create more, but there is an Arabic rom posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933961

Thanks for the help, this is great except for one thing; it is Android 2.2 while my phone currently is running on 2.2.1 so it is a sort of going back
Similar to above suggestions, I think what you want to do if flash either a custom ROM, or an official ROM, which supports Arabic. Either way, you'll need to be rooted, plus S-Off and SuperCID. This would be easier than doing a ROM dump from your friends phone (and you would still need to be rooted to flash that).

My problem was not finding official Arabic ROM (now found) and almost all custom ROMs do not include Arabic support. I am proceeding with rooting
I flashed the thing on my mobile, it has 1.83 firmware which removed my root. Now am downgrading the f/w again
Here you can find a lot of stock ROMs
