Hi, there are a number of very good action screen cabs for the HD2, e.g. the 12 Button Action Screen on the Co0kie Energy ROM.
I want to have two different ones, one mapped to the right hard end key and the other to the left soft key.
Problem: whichever cab I install, it maps the action screen to *both* the right end key and the left soft key. If I install another one, or try to map the left soft key to another one, it doesn't work: each cab maps to both the hard and soft key.
Does anyone know a tweak guaranteed to work so I can map one action screen to the left soft key and another to the right hard end key? It might not be possible with action screens, I don't know. But maybe there's a registry tweak or other mod that will do this?
I hope I'm making sense!
Thanks guys,
David

I mean End Key
Yes, that's what I mean. I want something like that for the End Key, but a *different* action screen (of which many are available) for the left soft key.

Hi,
I have noticed that in the normal mode when you activate the keyboard to enter a string in a textbox of a program, it works okay, but there is no way to collapse the keyboard back.
The result is that very often, the "OK" or "CANCEL" buttons in the program are at the bottom (not the soft key options) are overlapped by this soft keyboard. I have tried clicking in some blank space to get rid of the keyboard but it stays there.
The only way is to tap to another tab which collapses the keyboard.
Has someone found any solution to this ? (Qtek 9100, original rom)
One more problem: Even when I set the clock to 12hr format, it doesnt know the AM, PM on the title bar. Is there any registry hack to do this. I know the one for modifying the short date format.
Short Date Format to show "Mon/2" (example):
HKLM\nls\overrides\SSDte = "ddd/d "
Can somebody help me with these issues
Thanks
Anup

Hard reset sequence: Press VoiceDial button + comms manager button + soft reset. You will get a screen with 3 colored bars; at this screen, press the D-Pad UP. (some other version will display a message saying to restore to factory default settings, press the 'Send' button. In this case, press your 'Send'/'Call' button).
seriously, please tell me.. where is the Dial Pad?

i need to delete this msg! i dont know where
I can't view the image (it gives me an error when I C&P the link) and I get the second version (the message with the 'press send' button), but I think the instruction means for you to press 'up' on the almost-D-shaped-if-you-squint-a-bit navigation button (located between the Send/Call button and the End Call button).
I'm not sure though, as I am no guru so hopefully someone else will come along and confirm this!
With regards to deleting the double post, I think you'll have to ask a mod to do it. Sometimes there's a delete option if you click the 'edit' button at the bottom of a post, but I can't see one when I try and edit my post, so maybe these forums have it disabled?
Hi,
I'm trying to remap my left softkey to the phone application.
What path do I need to find the Phone application? I can't find it.
Just te be clear:
I'd like my left soft key on the today screen to link to this app:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Where can I find the right path?
Errrm...why do you want a softkey link to the Phone? just pressing the dial button will start it...
anyway, Phone is somewhere in the Windows directory if I remember correctly(I recall seeing it there once...).

Old habits I guess, I want a Phone button on my screen.
I can't find one in the Windows directory (latest PDAViet rom).
I just fixed it by linking to
\Windows\Start Menu\Phone.lnk
That's a way to have it work too...
Hi,
I'm new to HTC devices, so maybe it was already discussed for the HD, although I couldn't find anything.
I know there are many of you are missing the dpad, and I think a dpad is really helpful in some situations. By watching some reviews on the Diamond I just found a little application called GScroll.
It includes a really nice functionality called "'Swipe' to Scroll":
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As I don't have my device yet I'm not sure if it would work on the HD, but maybe it could, or at least it could after some modification.
Maybe it would be possible to use the "home" and "back" button as a dpad, that would be really cool. Another possible solution would be that by pressing the "back" button you enable the functionality and then could use the "home" button as dpad. So you "loose" just one button at all.
So I'm asking you, if you could give it a try. Maybe we have to write to the author(s) in order to support the HD, but I don't know why it shouldn't work at all.
Any input is appreciated.
It does not work on my HD.
I hoped that it may work sometime.
I have solution to left and right. just slide on this hardware buttons
ups this right and left should be change by side. right -> left <-

Try using AEB Plus which lets you map functions to buttons.
Unfortunately there is no LED's on these buttons. To see the four hard buttons in the complete dark, place one hand parallel with the bottom of the phone. The light from the screen reflects back onto the buttons making them clearly visible. Alternatively it is also quite easy to estimate where the buttons are by visually dividing the lower edge of the backlit screen into quarters and pressing below the relevant section. If you use your phone regularly you'll remember where they are without looking anyhow!
