Open Outlook does not dimsiss notifications - Omnia II General

Hello,
I have a small problem with notification of new emails:
Via push mail a new email is transmitted and notified correctly (popup and flash of the LED).
If i dismiss the notification popup, the mail sign in the top bar and the LED is swiched off, everything ok.
A new mail is then notified correctly (popup and LED again).
BUT:
If an new mail ist notified and I do not dismiss the popup and go directly to pocket outlook and open the new mail, the mail sign disappears in the top bar but the LED is still flashing.
Fatal an next new mail will not be notified!(no popup and no LED)!!
I'm sure this works correct on my old Kaiser (I cannot test ist because the Kaiser have a total damage).
Who knows this problem or maybe what is set wrong?
System:Omnia Lite (not direct a system of this subforum but its a Samsung Omnia)
WM 6.5 Build 5.2.21876
Many Thanks
regards
Bobble

Sounds like the problem is that you're not using the winmo outlook. Since the notifiaction software is tied into that, I'm not surprised it wouldn't work correctly.

I'm using the normal windows mobile outlook.
With normal ActiveSync Config.
If I dismiss the normal message before I read the mail in outlook, it works perfect, but If I read the mail before, the message dissapear, the little mail symbol on top dissapear, but the LED is still flashing.
If this happens, with the next email, and If I dismiss this next message, is OK again.
Seems that the notification is not "checked" complete, ore something.

Any ideas?

Pocket Outlook, notification when open

Hello again,
I have another question about Pocket outlook, why is it when you leave outlook open and a new email comes in you dont get notified anyone know a work around that ?
I asked somewhere else and no one seem to have the same issue, seems kinda strange, did I change something and I dont see it ?
I get notifications just fine.....in fact mine vibrates and plays a little jingle too....
Check your notifications settings...
Start--Settings---Sounds and Notifications----Notifications----Event: Messaging: New e-mail message
Check "Play sound"
Check "Display message on screen"
Check "Vibrate"
Tap OK
Tap X
Test it now...
Yes thats all there and it works just fine when out look is not open. but when I leave out look open the message comes in and no notify, when in standby and when not in standby, some time i would just press the power button to wake up the device and i see a new message in outlook and i wasnt notified.
Grrr this is driving me nuts !!!!!
he's right you don't get a notification when pocket outlook is open
Hi,

How to remove Orange Cingular Notification logo

I have searched for awhile on the forum and came up with nothing so here goes.
I constantly get an Orange Cingular icon in the top status bar with the a 'Notification'. The problem is that I have my 8525 set to notify if I get an email and it changes the Led to blink orange. But I get these Cingular notifications all the time and although I never get a message for it.. it just shows the word 'Notification'. When I click 'Notification', the icon goes away and that is it. No text messages or any other messages. It is just annoying and wonder if I have set something (or didn't set something) that makes this icon come up.
Thanks.
Wow, 74 views and no one has any ideas?
Does this mean that none of you Cingular users get a Cingular icon at the top of your screen on an hourly-daily basis that shows up as a notification? Maybe it is just me?
Notification
The only Notification I get is when I receive an email, voice message or missed call. The Notification is at the bottom left of my screen and is accessible witht he left softkey or touch screen.
i have never gotten anything like that... through my 8125 or 8525
Very odd. Have you tried clearing your notifications queue with the likes of Sktools, Memmaid or Scarybear? Though I'm not clear exactly what kind of notification this is!
Mike
He's talking about using Xpress Mail.... it pops up an ugly cingular thing on the top bar. I don't like it either.
Yes, he is referring to Xpressmail, which pops up a very nasty jagged-looking Cingular notification when a new email has arrived.
I found that Xpressmail doesn't really add any functionality to the phone anyway. You can set up any pop/smtp email account already in the phone, and if you leave the app running it will send/receive on a more reliable basis than Xpressmail does.
I understand the idea of Xpressmail -- waking up the phone if you have a new email -- but it just didn't seem to work for me at all. And yes, I really hated that ugly notification icon. I uninstalled it happily.
Bummer
Yeah, so far XpressMail is the only one that can get my work email. I have my Outlook set up on my laptop and XpressMail grabs it. I can't set it up through pop/smtp because it goes through the work Outlook server and requires authentication. I guess if I want my mail, I have to learn to live with it. At least until they set me up with the push from the outlook server. Though that won't happen this year at least due to IT restraints.
Oh well.

O2 Orbit2 WM6.1 Email Notification Setting

Hello to all!
I am new to this scene, did a search but could not find solid info on the issue I'm having/researching. I have an O2 Xda Orbit2 with WM6.1 (and using it in the US no problem), have gone through and set all preferences, etc to my liking, etc. I added a few AOL email accounts to the Messaging feature so it can grab emails and prior had set within the Notifications and Sounds settings that the phone NOT give me any notification (all boxes unchecked) of when new email comes in from when the phone runs its scheduled send/receive. However, the phone displays that envelope icon on the top status bar when it retrieves new email...even though that particular setting is NOT checked.
I have tried everything...playing with the notifications, setting it off then on, soft reboot and even a hard reboot (YUCK)...nothing cured it. I still get the envelope icon up top when it pulls new email, I don't want it to do that. Glitch, bug or problem with my phone? Anyone else have this or know what or why it is inherently defaulting to give an onscreen notification of new email when I set it not to??
GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY INFO!!

Solution to prevent the annoying contact sync???

Hi, since upgrading my Xperia to 2.1 I've notice something really annoying and all I want is for it to STOP!!!
Has anyone noticed whenever they sign into their google/twitter/faceache account the mobile's automatically sync's it's contacts? However instead of updating the outdated information with recent edits (either online or on the handset) it adds to it!! Often leaving a single entry with multiple parts (if you get what I mean) and multiple copies of the same address, number, email and notes in a single contact.
Does anyone here a solution to this?
I just want it to bleedin' STOP!!!
It's sooooo damn bloody annoying!!
I like the mobile contact list to remain the same, unaltered by it's software sync utility yet I like my emails to be pushed... So far, I've played with the phone till i'm completely stressed, only to achieve nothing!
STOP SYNCING my contacts!!!!
ALSO...
Where's the option to have assign different colour flashing LED status, for various types of notifications?
i.e.
Green - missed call
Blue - new sms
Orange - new email... etc...
Did you try going to the "Sync Settings" and turning off Sync? Menu button on the contacts list, go to "Account & Sync Settings" and uncheck "Sync Contacts" ?
when opening facebook on the settings you can disable the updates

I use Blink, its free in the market and works fine

[Q] Notification not updating

Hi,
I've had my Galaxy S5 for just over a week and I noticed that the notifications (email, hangouts) do not update if I read the messages from another device. If, for example, I have a new email and read that email on my computer (or tablet), the notification on the phone will still be there until I read that email on the phone. If i just swipe the notification to make it dissapear, when a new email comes in, it will tell me I have two unread messages eventhough the previous messages have been read (on another device).
Before the S5, I had a Nexus 4. Whenever I read a message on my computer, the notification on the phone would dissapear and messages would be marked as read almost immediately.
I find it really annoying to have the notifications and specially the LED light blinking for messages I already read.
Can anyone please tell me how to have S5 work the same way? All my settings are set to "push".
Thanks!
Check if you have enabled auto sync.
Can you tell me where auto sync is? I only found "activesync" under the exchange settings and it's enabled. I didn't find anything like that for my google account settings.
Thanks
bump
So nobody else has this problem?
