Who did trade in, when you got the EVO!

Hi, guys, congs you got the evo. But anybody trade in any mobile phone? Such as Hero or moment. and how much do you guys get?

I was due for a Sprint premiere 1 yr upgrade so I upgraded my Pre but then switched numbers with my Hero and posted it (Hero) on Craigslist. Figured I didn't need 2 Android phones plus I just couldn't part with my Pre just yet.

Motorola Atrix Forum

Hey all,
I was wondering if we could get a forum for the Atrix? I want one of these so badly, I will sell my body parts to get one!

The Atrix is seriously drool worthy on paper.
I want one two, in fact I want one so much it's weakening my resolve to leave AT&T for Verizon, though I'm going to try to hold on till September with my Captivate and upgrade to a Verizon Android on LTE, AT&T's ping on all phones in NJ is just sad, I think in NJ we need lower ping times more than bandwidth in order to get more performance out of these phones and Verizon's LTE has the lowest ping times I've seen.
That said I'm up for an upgrade already on AT&T so the Atrix is going to be haunting me lol, begging me to upgrade.
It's certainly a sweet phone and I've love one of those dock's
I just can't figure out how AT&T got this most definitely coolest Android phone.

Hopefully Motorola will strike a deal with Telstra, I want this phone badly, otherwise I will just have it imported. EDIT: You can get the Atrix as the DROID BIONIC on Verizon.

+1 atrix forum, not that the LG Optimus x2 has a 1080p video sample out, cant wait for someone to get there hands on this phone to see if they have upgraded the software to record 1080p & I want to see how good or bad the 5 megapixel camera is.

I don't doubt the level of genius here at xda, but motorola really dropped the ball locking the bootloader. They are notoriously slow with updates and it 2.2 can't fully utilize the dual core chip set.

I don't think the bionic has 1gb of ram so it can't use the docks.

Thinking about getting an incredible...opinions wanted

My Verizon contract expires on the 26th but I'm really not feeling the selection of phones right now. I wanted n LTE phone until I realized the current offerings were sub par. Then I thought I would wait for the Bionic but with the release of the locked down Droid 3 I'm not feeling optimistic about the bionic. Being locked down is a deal breaker for me. I'm thinking about getting a used incredible locally for about 150 atleast until Verizon comes out with some worthy LTE contendors. Thoughts? I'm coming from an OG Droid by the way.

if u want LTE get the charge if you want 3G get the Dinc 2 or Dinc

Probably not a bad idea to get an original incredible and wait to see what happens with the bionic and sgs2.

Second that. Get the Inc used at a good price and hope for a legit LTE phone from HTC next year. I feel like Verizon is focused on getting LTE up and running this year as opposed to putting out really good phones.
I prefer HTC, myself. If the Sensation or EVO 3D were on Verizon I'd consider it. I think it's just an off year for Verizon and new phones.
I love my DInc, as does everyone else I've talked to or read a post from. It's a classic with unbelievable Dev support. Coming from OG Droid you won't be disappointed, esp if you like the slightly slimmer form factor.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I am going to go ahead and get one. I was definitely really impressed with the amount of dev support in the development forum. I think the bump in CPU speed/RAM + smaller form factor will be enough to tide me over for a year or so. I just didn't want to waste my upgrade on a phone right now and be locked in all through next year when hopefully better phones will be coming out.

yeah you won't be disappointed with the dinc. i still haven't found what i would like to replace it with. i'll keep it till it burns up (knock on glass)

My brother has the og droid, and I put miui on it (I have miui on my phone too), and the inc blows it out of the water. Even with an overclocked kernel on the droid, it can't compare to the inc. you'll love the speed increase and the awesome devs that the inc has!

The dInc blows the OG Droid out of the water, and is still a very competent phone by todays standards.
I actually really didn't like the Droid Incredible when I first used it because something seemed cheap about it. Realized a day later it was because of how quickly everything was loading on it, made it seem like there was no substance to the applications. Idiotic complaint? Yes, but my brain works in weird ways.
Love the phone. If you can get a cheap used/refurb I'd do that, I would be all about the SGS2 if it came with LTE, I'm thinking I may be waiting for the SGS3 to come out or one of the better HTC LTE phones.

I've had my DInc since the day after it was released and love mine. I almost got a DInc2 but decided against it. I will wait till Christmas time and try to get a multicore phone. My DInc does everything I need it to do, while there will always be a bigger and faster phone coming, I can wait.

Good luck, that sounds like a good price if its clean. I paid about $200 for mine 3-4 months ago if that's any indication.

I purchased mine off ebay. It's a great phone. My only complaint would be the screen. It's very hard to see outside in the daylight.

The incredible is a worthy upgrade from the OG Droid (I did the same thing in March), but only if you can get it for cheap. I got mine from verizon for $100. I only got it to satisfy my craving for faster technology since the lack of ram on the OG was pissing me off. I'll be ditching the incredible when I find a phone worthy of my (last) new every 2 (so essentially something thats 4G, Dual/Triple/Quadcore, and an unlocked bootloader), I wouldn't mind it if it launched with Ice Cream Sandwich either

you really can't go wrong with this phone... the devs having it doing things it was never designed for and it does it well! sense 3.0and panoramic camera are awesome.

The other deal for 125 fell through but I picked one up today..already loving the phone. MIUI is beautiful and it absolutely rips on this phone compared to my Droid.

There are alot of roms, by the time the first 2 weeks are over, you prolly flash 25 times! Try optimized shift and nils business gingersense, both fantastic roms.

I completely agree with you about upgrading to a Dinc2. My Dinc1 is awesome and I'd probably end up regretting using my upgrade on a Dinc2.
I wouldn't hesitate to tell someone to pickup a used Dinc1 at all. Coming from an OG Droid I couldn't be happier. I have to see if the Bionic is locked down, most likely will be, to make an upgrade decision. Guess I'll just have to be patient.

New phone suggestions

Hey dudes. Well, getting the itch for something new. After having my Epic 4g for over a year (and the fact I'm a phone whore) thinking of switching from crapola Sprint to Verizon. Network has been crappy to say the least in the last months. I've tried a multitude of roms, themes, but can't seem to shake it. Be that as it may, anybody in the same boat?
Any suggestions on what to get? I've been seeing the Prime talk and all, but who knows how long that will be before it comes out. I was looking at the Bionic, being that I can't upgrade to the Epic Touch, and again the crappy Sprint network. Any other suggestions?
Sorry to be leaving you all in a few weeks, it's been a nice run

Well i have to say dont get a moto phone all my freinds that have one hates them and i do to but verzion is getting a samsung galaxy s 2 i belive

Really? recommend AT&T?!?! I've been begging work to ditch their contract with AT&T and move to verizon so I could actually use the phone they provide me.
Just got the woman setup with the Droid 3 on VZW. It's nice and fast, but the custom rom scene is nonexistant yet.. The stratosphere should be out this weekend (so you don't miss yer epic too much lol) and i've heard a couple other phones are headed to VZW soon worth lookin into as well.

I'm thinking the Bionic right now. Was thinking the Droid 3, but after looking at both, I like the size of the Bionic. I looked at reviews on the Stratosphere, but it's not looking to "Next Gen" Best Buy told me that they would match the price of one I saw on Amazon Wireless at 130, so I can't wait for payday

Verizon android phones,new htc?

So currently I have a tbolt and its on its last leg. Everytime its time for me yo upgradr it seems like its always that transition period where its a while before any great new devices. Well I need an android device now. Not to thrilled about going with a moto device even if the maxx has great battery life. Nexus just doesnt seem well built. The lg spectrum looks good spec wise. Wondering if I root it to get rid of that terrible lg sw will be ok or should I just get an improved tbolt and go with the rezound. I really want an htc one x but mo timeframe vzw will be getting. Opinions on the spectrum? Rezound? Or anyone heard when they will be getting some new top of the line devices

Best signal of any phone I've ever used.
Development is getting going quicker now since we now have S-OFF.
It's a really underrated phone as it got lost in the Nexus/Razr Maxx craze and now the newer phones.

Totally agree.. rezound is.like a lost treasure. It's easily the best phone on the market. That's what happens with ****ty advertising. Verizon got more money to push the gnex and razor.

When exactly did they push advertising for the GNex? Retailers didn't even know the phone was supposed to be released on the release day. They advertise nothing but moto. I had to go to 4 different stores to get mine because they weren't sure if they could release it. Lol, vzw for ya.

The Rezound is a solid option great form factor. I've played around with the Razr maxx and it's shortcoming is it is a little too wide. I think Verizon is waiting to decide if they will carry the new HTC One X series so your options are the Rezound or the razr maxx at the moment.

They did announce the Droid Incredible 4G LTE at CTIA...

You're right! Looks like it is supposed to come out this month.

Verizon's CEO put out a press release specifying that they won't be getting any of the new HTC phones within the foreseeable future.
The Rezound has great development going on with it and is definitely a quality device. If you're getting a phone now it's what I'd recommend. VZ is going Nazi style on their Moto bootloaders so that's definitely something I wouldn't buy myself.

I would upgrate now before they take your unlimited data away.
