I have tested several ROMs from here on my HD2 and have noticed that all of them shut off data itself when the phone is in sleep mode. When I wake the phone up, the data connection is shown active, such as "H" or "3G", but no data can be transferred unless I reset the mobile networks by turning off and on the "Airplane Mode" option. Only then, the data works. Is there any way or any application which fixes this? I want my phone to be constantly connected to data so my phone can keep itself synced at all times. Let me know. thanks
Wow that seems strange I have never heard of this problem before. That is probably why you didn't find any information when you did your search. Perhaps this problem is unique to your phone

I sometimes lose service and it only comes back if I cycle airplane mode or reboot phone. This happens in places were I have great signal . even when the phone shows no service I can still make calls but can't text and if people call me goes to voice mail. This happens on every build, radio, and rom I have tried. I don't see this as a known isue in the forums . Any help would be great . Also thank you to all whom contribuit to these android builds awsome work!

It's beautiful to revive some old dead threads!
I have here the same problem with my NAND build!
Can anybody help on this?!?
10x
yes I have the same problem, this can be resolved by setting the mobile data network to 2G only.
The Android build has this problem on some providers when trying to use 3G data mode.
Here in Belgium, this problem is there with Mobile Vikings (Base)

Thanks bro but unfortunately i'm 2G already!
I had this issue in the past! I don't know what made it go and now what made it come again!
Any third party apps that can cause the problem?
I have had this problem for a while. It will just randomly loose connection, you cycle airplane mode and then your service is back. Its almost like the phone isn't looking for a new cell tower after it loose connection and cycling airplane mode causes it to search again...
Extremely frustrating problem as it happens often and has been for a while (on many different builds and radios)
If anyone knows a fix or something, you would be my hero haha
And, what about the problem?
I've the same problem, but my network comes and goes..
one time i have reception, and suddenly its gone. autmaticly it comes again and on and on.
I'm a match ringer, i know
Nobody has this Problem too?

Hello all,
Not sure if anyone else is having this problem.
First of all, better to mention what my Aria is running on:
Stock ROM unrooted. Updated to Froyo from HTC via FOTA. I'm not located in the US therefore my phone isn't under AT&T which many here are. My ROM is strictly HTC's Asia's ROM.
Now I don't have much in a way of problems with my phone, its just odd to me that every once in a while (around once every week or so) I need to reboot my phone. This is because for some strange reason, my phone won't connect to the data network (3G) or it shows that it is connected but no data activity (even after I've instructed the phone to sync all information, i.e. weather, emails, etc). I've tried switching on/off the data network connection and also have tried switching between airplane modes on/off (in hopes to reset something) but nothing works.
I'm not sure if this is an inherent problem to the Aria's 2.2 update or if there is something wrong with my carrier, however the problem is ALWAYS FIXED right after a fresh reboot.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Try switching between the different options.

Thanks for the hint thinkhope. I'll try your suggestion. May I ask what you think the problem may be?
Update: I tried it for a couple of days and I still get the same problem. I tried switching between preferred networks but the problem persists. Quick reboot and once again, fixed.
I also have this same problem, stock/custom ROM no matter which ROM the problem is still there, up to a point that made me wanna smash my phone on the ground. I tried to use my SIM card on my wife's SGS and seems like no such problems faced. Is this a common problem for HTC phones?

Hello guys,
I'm running a HD2 using the above sd android build with a Energy WM 6.5 startup. My carrier is T-Mobile (USA) and I have the web2go plan using apn (internet2.voicestream.com).
My question is once in awhile one of the arrows for the H or 3G gets stuck on and the data connection drops out. I then attemped to turn off and on the mobile connection from the settings. The mobile connection state will show as off but the 3G or H stays at the top of the screen with the arrow stuck on. It will not shut off even if i leave it for a few minutes. I then try to turn the mobile connection back on but it stays the same. The only way to fix the problem is to reset the phone. This does not happen that often but on a recent trip to Florida it seemed to happen more often and became annoying. Is this a common problem with android and is there a way to fix it so the mobile connection will shut off correctly?
I have had other times where the data connection seems flaky and shut it off and on and it works good, but if the an arrow is stuck on it will never shut off.
i have the same problem like u with exactly the same setup(energy rom, radio) but you can live with it
i havent tried any other build could this was good for me for now.
Ya its not to bad, $10 data and i stream alot from my slingbox usually about 4-6gb a month. I did seem to have better results under a older android build I believe it was called PCB sense had a circuit board background, I will have to look for the old folder. Only reason I changed was to try out a newer build.
I was just wondering because I have a noob coworker that wants to do the same to his phone, but I'm sure there going to not understand whats going on if it locks up.
Anyways thanks!
So i recently bought a used hd2 that was already flashed to the NexusHD gingerbread 2.3 android, everything works great on the phone, the problem is that WIFI is not working at all. it shows scanning and it doesn't display any results, i tried searching for my home network and also the wifi at starbucks and it doesn't show up with any results. when i tried manually entering a network, the wifi just continues to scan but still no results. i don't have a data plan and so far i tried flashing it to different android builds and also back to winmo 6.5 and still has the same problem. i am a noob and so far without wifi i cant sync my contacts or access market =/ please help, thanks
You've flashed other ROM's and you still have the same problem? Thats really weird. Maybe that's the reason they sold it?

I am having problems with data when I use ICS builds. Before I started using Android I could use data anywhere on W6.5 and it worked on GB as well, but I much prefer ICS. However, I can only get data in some places and not others. At home it tends to be fine but at work I can't get anything, it just won't connect but with W6.5/GB it will. I am on Virgin Media who use T-Mobile/Orange.
I've tried several ICS builds (NativeSD), using PPP and changing the APN, so I'm abit stumped as to what the issue may be. Most of the time I use wifi but I need data at work and when I go away.
Any ideas or suggestions that I could try?
Although your problem seems to be different, try to switch on airplane mode on then off. (If on CLK.)

I'm not on NAND but NativeSD and boot using Haret.
I have just been playing with the settings at work and changed the network from auto to Virgin and data came on but only for a minute and then I lost it. Turning to airplane mode and back again worked but only for another minute and then I'll lose the connection again.
Does that help highlight what the issue might be? Although I'm confused as to why it worked at home with the network set to auto.
This is a long shot, but it may be related to 3g/2g preference. Maybe for some reason it is set to three g preferred and you don't have it at home. Im not home now, you can search for it or wait until I get back home.

EDIT: Actually, I got home as well as lazier. Please search for it and try it.
Edit - Sorted it hopefully, I turned data roaming on and it's working!
