So I have read that you need to use your stock TW launcher to run the update through KIES mini. Does this mean that I have to uninstall launcher pro or simply switch to TW using hone switcher? My launcher pro home screens are highly customized and it would be a pain in the ass to start over. Thanks in advance.
When I apply the update I was using launcher pro in a stock phone, updated without any problems
You do not need to uninstall Launcher Pro, Just disable the Defaults under Settings-Applications-Manage Applications-LauncherPro & Clear defaults. Then Go into USB Settings, Select Kies. & Finally Go to Development and Check USB Debugging Mode. I can confirm this works on MS64Bit. Just run Kies Mini as Administrator to ensure no problems.. Now you have GPS fix.

True. Selecting Kies will automatically remove the check in debugging. It is not possible to use both.
Done. No sweat.

Hey guys i have the n8010 And i wanted to disable some of the stock apps like Google+ Google Games and so on.. but in App Manager it appears only the options Force Stop, Uninstall updates, Clear data/cache. I did disable them on my HTC device but here i cant...
Im running full stock and 4.1.2 Android, Shouldnt I be able to update to a further one or it isnt released yet?
Thanks
you are going to need root to freeze or uninstall the system apps
You have to uninstall the updates first. After that, the "Uninstall Updates" button will show "Disable" and you'll be able to disable them

They can be simply disabled without root as it was said by coyoteelab. But cannot be uninstalled. When they are disabled they dont start.

As coyteelabs said... go to settings - applications - all apps - select the app you want to disable. Then..
1. If necessary, uninstall update first (select uninstall updates)
2. Then click disable (for some apps you need to uninstall updates first before you can disable them).

Thank You ! It worked i disabled those many unecessery stock apps ;D
Verizon released an update for my phone a few days ago. Being that I'm rooted I don't need the update, how can I stop it from popping up? I don't believe there is an option anywhere for it?
If memory serves correct, you'll have to either freeze or remove the stock system update apks (I think there are 2). And if the update has downloaded, just not installed, you'll also have to find the location it saved to and delete it. Then you won't have to worry about ever seeing it again...
You could start by unchecking 'Auto Update' under Settings > General > About Device > Software Update...

You can freeze or remove the apks with Titanium Backup, as for the location of the files, you'll have to do some research, as I'm not sure....

Because it's under Software Update. The option in About Phone (or About device, depending on your language setting) that's above Status and Legal Information.
I have s4 rooted with 4.4.2 i9505xxugnf1

I have tired Wipe Cache, wipe cache Dalvik .......but nothing

There are two options:
Just once and Always.
You have to select Always for it to be stored.
Is that the official firmware for your phone?

I choose always, of course
yes, it's official firmware
he was working properly until 2 months ago
Maybe it's cause by some app. Stuff like this doesn't happen with no reason. Especially if it worked fine before.

By choosing 'always' at any point, the phone no longer prompts you for a choice because you've told it you ALWAYS want to use a specific app for that task.
Go to the applications manager in setting. Find the app you are using that isn't producing the option dialog, and choose CLEAR DEFAULTS
The next time you do it, it'll prompt you again.
I'm sorry with my bad English I can not make myself understood.
These things you say I know them well.
My problem is another.
The phone does not create associations and always ask me for any app "Complete action using" if i confirm "always", the next time me once again.
I tried to clean the cache
help me...up
I understand what you mean, but I don't know what causes the issue.
It might be because of the root.
Did this happen only afer root?

The problem can be inflicted for differents apps, mods or modules of Xposed Framework:
1.- Update your device to the latest firmware via ODIN: HERE.
2.- Backup your internal data and factory reset your device (Settings > Accounts > Back Up and Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Device > Delete All/Erase Everything). Install the apps that you had manually.
3.- Root your device and install Xposed Framework (latest version). Add the modules one rear other trying always "complete action" for avoid and detect problems with them.
I have a thing against having lots of apps in my app drawer that I never use. I always go through and disable ones that I won't need. Well, I disabled some of the ZTE apps like My Voice, and now I can't re-enable them. When I go to app info, it shows "disabled" on the list for the app, but when I tap it, there is an "enable" button that is grayed out.
I'd like to be able to do this without factory resetting the phone.
If you can get ADB running to connect the phone to the PC try this
adb shell pm list packages -d
adb shell pm unhide package.Name

 looks like we are all here , by the way wont work (unhide command) needs to be " pm enable " and requires system access (root) "Permission Denial" , i try with a disabled app(s), just hope we get that update soon to avoid all this problems
P.S. yeah i'm the guy from ZTE forum
Haha good to see you guys!
Too bad on the ADB pm cmd, i was 50/50 on it working

Technically i went there from here
Looks like you ran directly from terminal emulator. I'm not sure, but ADB shell might run under a different UID and have more permissions. This might have changed in MM, but you could use pm command to grand permission to Greenify package on non rooted devices
Was there ever a fix for this? I am running into the same issue and can't re-enable apps.

Update to B27 (and maybe factory reset). I'm pretty sure this was one of the things fixed in B27.

Oh. I was putting off upgrading until I got root and there was more development in the phone to recover corrupt devices.

Are you sure about this? I have seen posts on ZTE board saying that apps can no longer be enabled/disabled with B27. With B20 you can at least do disabling (I am not sure about enabling).
some you can some you can't. you can disable ZTE browser, but can't disable ZTE calendar or ZTE messanger for instance.
For disabling apps, are you using a different launcher?
Launch the Stock Android launcher and disable apps through the app drawer - I've successfully disabled ZTE calendar and messenger on my device.
Re-enabling seems another problem altogether though..

B27 can still be rooted and bootloader unlocked. No real reason not to update.

That was something else that was changed.
On B20, if you disabled apps in Settings > Apps, sometimes you would not be able to re-enable them.
(What you're talking about) On B20, if you use the Stock Android theme, if you press and hold on an application icon, there's a "Disable" option at the top of the screen that you can drag the icon to. Using this method, you could disable apps that you couldn't via Settings > Apps, such as the ZTE Calendar and Messaging apps. However, this allowed you to disable things that could cause issues with the device, such as disabling Settings or the Dialer. If you disabled apps this way, you could not re-enable them via Settings > Apps.
On B27, you can still disable apps in Settings > Apps, and people haven't reported having issues re-enabling them.
On B27, the "Disable" option in the Stock Android theme has been removed. So while you're not able to disable some stock apps, you cannot accidentally disable something that could break the OS.

Thanks - hadn't noticed that difference with B27 till now.
However, I've disabled the stock clock, and can no longer re-enable it through the App settings.
There does appear to be another solution (I haven't tried it though) - from the App settings, if you select the 3 dot menu on the top right, the option to reset app preferences should re-enable apps (and reset other settings as well).

Did you disable it back in B20? Cause when I look at the stock clock in B27 on my device, the disable option is greyed out.
