If I do a "Factory Data Reset" on my unlocked T-Mobile MyTouch Slide will it be locked again?
Seems the answer is typically no but just wanted to see if anyone knows from experience with this particular phone.
Thanks.
The "sim lock" and the OS on the phone are 2 COMPLETELY different things.
So whenever you unlock your phone, it's permanent.
You can factory reset, replace your OS and ect...
Your phone will still be sim unlocked.
Secondary question: Will it erase any of the APN or connection info?
Thanks!

Guys,
I just had a quick question. Does anybody know if I do a factory reset on the phone, will it erase the SIM unlock that I did already from T-Mobile? My phone is extremely sluggish and locking up. However, Iam worried that doing a factory reset will "lock" the SIM again to T-Mobile. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
You can unlock your phone as many times as needed with that code. The code is locked to your device!
It shouldn't remove the SIM unlock.
I have never tried with the Vibrant, but in me experience with about a dozen other unlocked GSM phones, a factory reset has never re-locked the phone.

Yup, same here.
unknown amount of odin's and roms 2.3 included, never a relock.
Factory reset doesn't even have access to that partition.
You should be able to factory reset with no issues. Once that unlock code is in, that phone should stay unlocked for life.
no, but I wish it does because some people with corrupted imei are having a hard time to fix it.
anyways, you'll be fine.

The phone was from Roger, Canada. And the phone is unlocked. I don't know what method when unlocking the network locker.
Now the phone can use in my contry, but have these problem.
I asked motorola support, and they told me reset the phone. Method is:
Factory Data Reset is a tool used to remove everything that was imported, added or installed on the device. Keep in mind, when using this feature everything is deleted. Nothing stored on the MicroSD or the internal phone storage will be affected unless you choose to erase it as well.
Factory Data Reset
From the screen of your phone, press the Menu button
Tap Settings.
Scroll down and tap Privacy
Tap Factory Data Reset
Check Erase internal storage if you would like to erase all the data on the phone internal storage such as applications, music, movies or photos.
Tap Reset Phone

I would if the phone will locked again after reset the phone.
So my question is:
1. Will the phone locked after resetting to factory settings?
2. If the phone locked again, where can I find free unlock code or a fee unlocked bu isnot expansive.
I don't want pay twice for same thing.

I bought mine from ebay, unlocked, I did a factory reset and it didn't locked it back, that's just my case, I can't say it won't happen to you.
So the story is I switched from telus to wind, what I did first was the QPST AWS band unlock thing, that went smoothly but afterwards I was unable to unlock my phone. I know that I can't reach that special menu because of the latest firmware samsung released which blocked it but I even got a code from telus which I know it's correct, the thing is it doesn't work for some reason... "network unlock request unsuccessful" I tried everything, first I did a factory reset, I restored the file that QPST replaces which I was sure was the source of the problem but no luck there. I rooted my phone, still nothing. I contacted samsung and asked if there was a way to completely reinstall everything, I mean make the phone a clean slate, they said nothing can be done besides a factory reset (officially anyway). So I'm stuck with a locked phone that won't unlock with the unlock code. Anybody have any idea what I can try? I have a brand new galaxy s4 that I can't use, to some extent it's heartbreaking...
I did some more research and I found that its possible that the device is "frozen"? And that you need some unfreeze code, mck "manufacturer control key"? Anyone know anything about this? I'm dead in the water, I've tried everything I could find
Try fastgsm.com.
Hello, I used the SIM unlock method from the thread here on XDA and was able to successfully unlock my phone and use it on a foreign network. A bit later I had a problem with my Bluetooth so I did a factory reset, and now the phone says 'sim not allowed mm #3' when i put in a foreign SIM.
The frustrating part is that when I go to the unlock menu there is a list of various logging methods, but every one of them says 'Phone is not personalized' which means the phone is unlocked, so there is no way to reenter an unlock code.
Is there a wwayas to check and change the software lock status?
Hey all,
So, a little backstory: I got this HTC 10 from Sprint not too long ago, and little did I know that I would be stuck with Sprint unless I reflash the phone firmware. (after research, asking HTC and Sprint, I received misinformation from reps stating that the phone would work on Verizon with just a carrier unlock issued over the air). Moral of the story: don't rely on customer service :silly:.
Fast forward to now, and I have rooted (temporarily to run Sunshine), S-OFF'd (using Sunshine), changed the CID (for Verizon), and flashed the newest Verizon RUU that developer Dottat kindly posted here.
That worked, full LTE, but then whenever the camera or GPS were accessed by any application, the phone would freeze with a black screen (though it seemed something was still running in the background, as notification sounds would still play, and I could exit by pressing the home button and waiting about a minute). After this, I tried flashing the Viper ROM just for kicks, but then the cellular radios only functioned with 3G coverage (no LTE in a coverage area), and GPS was still broken (the camera issue was fixed with this flash for some reason).
Unfortunately (or maybe not), I am pretty sure /system has been wiped multiple times. I also ran
Code:
htc_fastboot erase modemst1
htc_fastboot erase modemst2
after each install of a new ROM, then performed a factory reset from recovery (just a factory reset, nothing more).
Now I went ahead and used an official ROM from HTC's website in an attempt just to get full functionality working on any carrier. I flashed the USA unlocked variant (and changed the CID to BS_US001. MID is still 2PS650000), but now I am experiencing more missing functionality. The camera and GPS are still missing, and now the SIM card is not detected (when entering the access point names dialog, a message pops up stating that there is no SIM, or SIM error when I am using an activated AT&T SIM). When I enter the test menu (*#*#4636#*#*) and select any option for network mode other than what is default (LTE/CDMA), the new option won't 'stick' (it returns to default after a few seconds).
This sounds to me like there is stale firmware on the device from a previous flash, or that the firmware for these core peripherals is corrupt. Is there a way I can get these devices working again? Or am I now stuck with a bricked device ? I do still have a backup I took of what was installed stock by Sprint (all except for /data...but I don't need that partition, right?)
EDIT: Mods, I am terribly sorry! I meant to post this in HTC 10 Q&A. I don't see a way to delete a thread, so hopefully we can move it.

A MOD should move it soon.
I am not the best here, but hopefully can be of some help.
I would just superCID, save a step for flashing RUU's.
So, when you flash the Verizon RUU, does camera work?
(if you RUU and only have 3g, wipe the modems to get 4g back)
If your trying to use the phone on Verizon I would do the following:
1) Change your CID to Super, 11111111
2) Flash the US Unlocked RUU, http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html#unlocked
3) After it fully boots, reboot into the bootloader & flash the Verizon radio, http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-10/how-to/vzw-how-to-unlocked-model-vzw-t3376743
4) Make sure the Preferred Network is set to Global, Settings>Mobile data>Preferred Network
5) Get to the secret menu *#*#4636#*#*, and set the preferred network type to "CDMA/EvDO/GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto"
I use a Verizon model with the US Unlocked firmware. As far as custom ROMs, some work with Verizon's network and some don't. I'm sure theres a workaround but I've stuck with the US Unlocked firmware, and just use Xposed for any tweaks/mods.
If your trying to use it on AT&T and the radio from the US unlocked RUU should work.
