[Q] Lost ability to create new Exchange appointments? - EVO 4G General

I noticed today that I can only create PC Sync or Gmail calendar appointments, when I could previously also create exchange appointments. I believe this happened after switching to Calkulin's EViO 1.3 ROM (from stock sense ROM), but I can't be sure (I don't create appointments from my phone very often).
Does anyone know how to get this ability back, without switching ROMs? My exchange profile is setup and working fine (mail, calendar, contacts are all syncing).
Thanks,
Dave

[MISC] Calendar syncing with Outlook

Just thought I'd share my experience on this. Before I got my DZ, I was used to sync'ing my Outlook calendar (Outlook 2007) with my WinMo phone (TP2).
With the DZ, I thought I would use HTC's own HTC Sync software. This can sync various items to the phone from a PC, e.g. calendar, bookmarks, files, contacts, etc. You can download it from HTC's website - http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=1058&news_id=804
However, I found it didn't handle repeating appointments properly at all, something I've raised with HTC (but had no response yet). If I change one instance of a repeat appointment (e.g. different time, or deleted it), it just didn't seem to pick it up, and didn't sync the change to my phone.
I then thought I would try out Google Calendar Sync - http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=98563
Google Calendar Sync works much, much better. I sync'd my Outlook Calendar with Google Calendar initially, then removed my "PC Sync" calendar from my phone, and sync'd my Google Calendar with my phone. It is working fine so far, it picks up things like changes in single instances of repeat appointments.
I'm still using HTC Sync for sync'ing bookmarks and photos, but not my calendar any more.

Coming from the exact same old phone and doing the exact same process, I wound up doing the exact same thing!
Problem is google calendar sync doesn't work with Outlook 64 bit.
I am using a product called CompanionLink - but it's only a 15 day trial

HD2 and Birthdays -- a desaster!?

First off:
I own an HD2 with original HTC StockROM 3,14.
additionally I have installe Manila Birthday.
The device is synced with 2 PCs.
1) the birthdays from the (Outlook-)contacts are transferred automatically to the calender as "complete day" appointments.
2) with Manila Birthday you can also transfer the birthdays into the calender
Problem:
At first I have removed all of the original entries from the calender (see #1)Then I got all birthdays transferred by Manila Birthday.
But, whatever I do -- after a few sync cycles the originial entries reappear. This means I have now 2 entries for each birthday in the calender.
=> it's a nuisance, but not critical.
The difficulties start on travels. I am regularly on business trips to UK (1 h time shift). Now all the 1 day Birthday entries become 2 day events. (grrrr...).
When I return from the travel, this does not swith back (still two day events) (grrr no. 2.) But really irritating is, that also the data in the contact become manipulated. Meaning: all birthdays are either a day earlier or later. But NEVER correct. If you call then the jubilee - well you are always on the wrong day (and you look really stupid...).
Question:
1) is it possible (with ManilaBirthday or the HTC calender or the contacts) to set it up in that way, that the original entries to the calender are no longer made?
2) How can I manage that the Birthdays in the contacts are not manipulated during travels?
3) since I didn't find anything about this points... am I really the only one who experienced this problem????

I've noticed this as well. I'm using EnergyROM and everytime I update and then sync with outlook, I get 2 entries for each birthday. If I don't delete them from outlook before a new sync, they can start to build up. No idea how to stop this though apart from only sync either your contacts or calendar.
known issue with outlook happens on other platforms as well
I've got another situation, but it adds up to the same problem.
1. Original registration of birthdays is done in Outlook.
2. Synced in WinMo using activesync.
3. Synced WinMo with g-mail account.
4. Booted into Android, synced agenda and contacts with g-mail.
5. Changed Android build and synced that with g-mail.
By now every birthday is shown twice, some are quadrupled.
Don't really know how to solve this.

PC Sync calendar option

So I've just flashed a Gingerbread ROM after coming from mcr r9 for a few months. Prior to that I was on stock Sense 2.1 (I'm sure some may remember that! )
With 2.1 the calendar app, you had the option to have a good few calendars:
your google/gmail account calendar
a "my calendar" or similar calendar
the PC Sync calendar - for syncing with outlook
and iirc UK holidays
and maybe the Facebook calendar
With 2.2 going into the Calendar app and pressing [Menu]>More...>Calendars>[Menu] they removed the "my calendar"/"personal calendar" but you still have these calendars:
your google/gmail account calendar
the PC Sync calendar - for syncing with outlook
UK holidays
Facebook calendar
Now in Oxygen rc7/test build @6 Feb 11 you obviously get the new 2.3.2 calendar.
It looks like I only have
your google/gmail account calendar
UK holidays
So my questions are:
Is that correct or is the calendar still a WiP?
Is this something google are slowly changing over the android revisions i.e. Is this a feature of gingerbread or the 2.3.2 calendar? - So that people are forced to use google calendar as their sole calendar...
I need to use Outlook calendar on my pc and sync both a WM phone and this android phone from that - I don't want to sync my calendar with/migrate to google calendar thanksbutnothanks.
Do I have any options/workarounds other than to go back to froyo?
Thanks for reading this far and for any insight/help you may give.
I have had succes syncing my Outlook with something called Myphoneexplorer (for PC there is an android client app for this program.)
But I have found syncing the contacts can be a bit of a pain because of the multiple contact sources (facebook LinkedIn and Google) and it take some work to actually link the contacts on the phone to remove and combine the dupes.
I haven't had time to play with it very much but it did sync my contacts and calendar.
Still a robust and cloud consolidating option would be a god send.
Not sure if that would require better cloud support in Outlook but it seems logical.

[Q] CM7 exchange sync issues

Is anyone else having exchange sync issue in CM7? I've tried both stable and the latest nightly. Most specifically its in the calendar. It won't sync all of my appts. I know its not the sever itself as it loads fine on my vibrant running bionix-V 1.3.1.
Any thoughts? I couldn't find any known issues on this.
I'm facing a similar issue as well, e-mail syncs fine but calendar won't.
I've set everything to sync manually, no push and no automatic refresh.
Manual sync of calendar under "Accounts & Sync" doesn't sync calendar entries as well
I found with Exchange sync for Calendar, most, but not all, appointments sync. I found 1 that didn't sync no matter what I did. There may be others, but that was the only one I noticed. However, there seems to be another major timezone/daylight savings time bug where many appointments show up 1 hour before their correct time. For full day appointments, this results in 11pm-11pm 2-day events. It's not the calendar app, as syncing google calendars doesn't seem to have this issue, so it must be a problem with the Exchange sync. I don't use Exchange for email, but contacts seem to sync okay.

[Q] Exchange Sync - Contacts & Calendar

I am running the GPE 5.0.1 ROM by @Danvdh and I'm having a problem syncing to my new work email account. I haven't had exchange on this phone before so I don't know if its a problem, or just not possible. In my searches it looks like I might need a few different apps, but that's why I here asking.
I have installed "Bluemail" and added my MS Exchange account info. Email syncs fine, but I'm trying to get my contacts (google) to sync with my work email, along with my calendar. The rom doesn't have a calendar installed by default so I installed "Business Calendar", but I'm not married to it at all, and am more than willing to switch to get it to sync. I also tried "Nine" email app but it doesn't seem to be syncing contacts TO Exchange, (maybe just from it?) And I don't know where its trying to sync the calendar to, but it doesn't appear to be working either. I hope this is all possible because on my old work phone (iPhone) everything would sync up easily and I really don't want to go to an iPhone.
