D2 frame rate hack? - Droid 2 General

EDIT: I would like to know if it is possible to increase video playback quality by adjust the framerate settings, similar to the way you can adjust the framerate of the recording quality settings.

Improving the Camera Capturing Speed

Greetings...
Here is my recent observation:
If you enable the FPS and turn on the 1.3MP Camera (to take photos/videos etc), the frame rate is roughly about 14fps (on standby).
If you go further and disable the Dithering from the registry, then the frame rate can now reach to ~20fps; and its much more smoother looking around with that.
Is this good or bad? :roll:
I mean, it would have been great if this can be coupled with some other settings to find a way around the 10fps limit of the video recording (of that stupid 320x240). Changing the fps limit to 15 seems to change it within the video properties, but not sure if it is helping at the final recording yet; need to experiment some more.
Any ideas? suggestions? comments?
Thanks,
- Matt.

Video recording tweaks

I found some registry to improve the recording from being jerky every 2.5 seconds when recording to midiSD.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\Recparam\AVISmall]
"VTimetoWriteCard"=dword:00002710
"ATimetoWriteCard"=dword:000009C4
"ATimetoWrite"=dword:000001F4
"VTimetoWrite"=dword:000001F4
Modified the red coloured settings to 10000 miliseconds. Seems to work better but still jerky after 10 seconds of recording. Works with MPEG-4 Medium recording... not sure about other format though.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\Recparam\MP4Medium]
"VTimetoWriteCard"=dword:000009C4
"ATimetoWriteCard"=dword:000009C4
"RCModel"=dword:00000000
"SearchRange"=dword:0000001F
"ATimetoWrite"=dword:000001F4
"VTimetoWrite"=dword:000001F4
"FrameRate"=dword:0000000F
"Complexity"=dword:00000002
"InDtx"=dword:00000001
"Level"=dword:00000003
"BitRate"=dword:0002EE00
"Mode"=dword:00000006
Also you can modify your frame rate and bitrate of your MPEG4. I left the bitrate alone, but increased the frame rate to 15.
Hope this helps.
Anybody know how to hack it so that it can record at 320x200? I can't seem to find a registry to do so. Maybe it's hard coded?

How to increase audio bitrate in videos taken by camera?

Like in title. There is option to incerase video bitrate but audio is still 48kb/s. Is there any option to increase this vaule for ex to 96kb/s like in movies taken by Nokia's?
Oh key to change video bitrate is there:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Recparam\MP4VGA\

Video Quality

Hi All,
Is there a certain setting I'm missing for good video/audio quality? The video i get is pretty grainy and choppy and the audio is kind of garbled. I know it's not a video camera but you should be able to get something half way decent. Right now I'm using Mpeg setting but i don't see anywhere where you can choose audio recording setting.
Thanks,
Ho'okani

can't seem to increase video recording bitrate

I have installed various 3rd party camera apps & despite increasing video recording bitrate in app settings, recorded videos all have 40mbps bitrate.
Can the media profiles xml be edited just like with older phones?
Has anyone else tried or had success with increasing the bitrate for video recording? Any input would be appreciated
Edit: found media_profiles in system\vendor\etc...going to change it and see what happens
