Its launching in Korea, the home of samsung, and the land of a new phone every month. Latest and greatest there man. I don't even think they have feature phones there. Most people don't have a computer but a big chunk have phones we just dream of.

Fwiw, that's the Galaxy K, not the Galaxy S. I know, I'm mad too, but it's not like they're releasing the exact same model of phone with Froyo. We'll get ours, don't worry. Right now I'm just trying to figure out if implementing Voodoo is really worth it, or if I should wait for Froyo before messing around too much.

And Samsung is based in Korea, so you'd expect them to have the latest and greatest first. They're trying to use the galaxy s platform as their iphone killer. So you're going to see them continue to make bleeding edge phones...

FYI; Google around released Froyo update to Motorola, which released to Verizon, which they are testing for release bugs so it doesn't ruin to many customer phones at OTA launch like the other Froyo updates have done in the past. So its Verizon holding Froyo goodness from us...

I'm trying to figure out why T-Mobiles galaxy s 4g had froyo and why Samsung can't get it to the other galaxy s phones when they are all essentially the same phone hardware wise and software wise

CDMA vs GSM. They have had no problems pushing froyo to their GSM phones across the world. For some reason in the US and especially the CDMA carriers, they cant seem to get it ported correctly.
Makes no sense but I guess that's what rooting is for who's what I'm going g to do when I have a decent computer at my disposal

Samsung has had issues with more than just the Galaxy S phones. They had to stop pushing out the "pre-update" to the Win Phone 7 Samsung devices and they are GSM. Samsung seems to have a problem in general with being able to be consistent.

I know it is possible to boot up to 4 versions of android on a phone given they are using the same file partitioning (found out about it in the XDA portal, here is the link http://www.xda-developers.com/android/boot-up-to-4-different-roms-with-dualromx2/) tho im sure this guy is bs'ing especially if he is using applanet. Well we don't have to worry about the up and coming next gen phones from Moto being as google now owns/will soon own Moto. I can hardly see google blaming google or a google partner
