Download launcher pro plus from the market. It allows for widget resizing.
So I'm assuming there isn't a way to get this to work w sense? What about when rooted do you think its possible?

You can use launcher pro with sense, but you will lose the use of the sense launcher (rosie.apk) and the sense widgets. The launcher pro plus widgets are almost the same as the sense widgets. If you go ahead and root, what I do if running a sense based ROM is actually remove rose.apk and move launcher pro over into /system/app. Works like a charm and I have not encountered any issues as of yet.
You can use ADW Launcher. I think the free version lets you resize widgets.
Alright sweet am going to try ADW launcher first if that fails me ill just go ahead and root and change the rosie.apk to launcherpro so u say no hickups or anything like that?? No slow downs??? I rooted my old Eris no problem using adb n the sdk n all that so hopefully this journey won't be to bad.... do they have the one click root for the incredible yet or still done via command promt? Prolly should have looked before I asked sorry but thanks for all the help guys

No. It's launcher2 from the G2 system dump.
This screenshot should show it a bit more; no home app has screen previews like Launcher2.

Long press on an empty area of the screen and choose widgets.

I can't even get the android ones to show up. Am I missing something?
Edit: never mind I do get the android ones.
They are part of touchwiz which you turned off. If someone was/is able to extract them from touchwiz that would be cool. But its all part of touchwiz launcher. Like htc sense. If anyone has pulled some of those I would like to have a few.

X2. I have an Evo and upon installing Launcher Pro I no longer have the ability to use Sense widgets in LP, but going back to Sense I can use them again.
Hiya guys, quick question.
Is there a way to have the Sense style preview (the one where you prress the home key & it shows you all the screens) on Stock 2.2? I'm rooted so it doesn't bother me if I have to flash something. Its the only feature of Sense I like
Thanks in advance

Just get a new launcher. I think Launcherpro and ADW Launcher have it default.

I don't want a new launcher though, I'm loving Stock Android. If its not available just let me know & I will live without, But if I can get it I would be in heaven!
I don't think there's a way to. However, you can set LauncherPro to look exactly like stock 2.2 in the settings.
I think is to pinch the on-screen will show that kind of screen, from the first n1 Rom I used.

Looks like not. I've tried few times, but in vain.
btw if you'll root with unrevoked software nothing will happen. the only thing is to backup contact list etc.

I didn't think their was a version of unrevoked that worked with the OTA Froyo update which my mum installed :S
That's true. You can't root your mum's phone just yet even if you wished to.
Well, you are out of luck unfortunately, atleast for the time being.
Oh well :/ I'll just wait and hope for someone to do some magic and root 2.2
Well, as per Unrevoked's latest tweet, they are pretty close (Maybe)

Good news! I googled "livewallpaperspicker.apk" on google and downloaded it from MediaFire. It works!
Edit: It FC'd.

First let me say I'm not rooted. With that out of the way, are there any home launchers that are optimized for this tegra 2 phone? I've used ADW, Launcher pro, and Go Launcher and all 3 of them ran slightly slower than just using the stock launcher.

Since dual core is so new there are no launchers or even many apps that make any use of the extra power

Unfortunately that's what I was afraid of. Has anyone had any success with a home launcher running fast and smoothly on a non rooted atrix?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
GO Launcher EX ran fast on my non-rooted Atrix. There are a lot of settings for GO Launcher and I just set all the transitions to the fastest settings and it ran fine. I didn't notice any lag at all. I'm rooted now and I'm still using GO Launcher EX.
In fact I'm using all their add-ons for SMS, Dialer, Weather, Score, etc and they all run pretty fast on the Atrix.

When you installed the launcher, did you remove all the widgets you had on the stock launcher? If you didn't, they'll still be there running even when you use a new launcher. Remove everything then add the new launcher and set it up the way you like. Should be a lot smoother.
Also, have you tried Zeam? It's fairly minimal but quick.

Or he could just freeze the stock launcher with titanium backup that works well.

Yeah, I went through all the usual proper steps. Just for kicks I just reinstalled go launcher a few hours ago. Within 1 hour it started freezing my phone causing my screen to either stutter or just go totally unresponsive. Going to go back to adw and see if it happens with that

It's a strong possibility.
Since my Galaxy S, I've stopped using all running widgets.
Actually come to think of it, all my current icons are shortcuts which is probably why Launcher Pro runs as smooth as butter for me...

My LWP runs MUCH smoother after freezing all the recommended stuff I'm on GingerBlur 3.5 BTW
JUST ROOT!!
Running adw ex.. noo slow downs whatsoever
Xda app via atrix
+1 for zeam, I've been using it for months now and its very smooth. It is very minimal by comparison to most others though.... which is what I was looking for actually.
Im using go launcher and having no problems whatsoever... I also use fancy widget on my home screen.
Have also used both lpp and adw* both ran pretty good as well. I just prefer go launcher

Root, flash GladiAtrix 3, then use ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro. I use both. You will see a significant speed increase.
Hmmm I might bite the bullet and do that. What's the best root method for a bell canadian atrix?

on a side note go launcher ex just got updated and there are some new app drawer animations that I like.

Ive used both Launcher Pro Plus and GO Launcher EX extensively, and GO Launcher EX has been the smoothest, fastest, best launcher.
I can vouch for the new update with the Icon Transition in the app drawer, its pretty slick. Good stuff here.. not sure how the GO team keeps this stuff free.
same as post above, golauncher is just as good if not better than lp plus, and its free. no brainer
