Hi guys.
I saw a friend of mine, he had pictures from Facebook on phone contacts. A name in contacts had a picture from the contacts name from Facebook.
Is this possible for me?
Thanks

There are many Apps that syncs Facebook Pics with your Contacts in your Phone with Android 1.6, but with Android 2.1, this would be default feature! For now, you can use this app to sync Facebook and Twitter Seamlessly with your Xperia X10. I like this app because it gives you options for perfect matches and potential matches as well. Let me know how did you find this app,

syncmypics will do it
I use facebook sync and it dl all the pics for my contacts, but you have to associate them manually and it is boring (when u have 300 friends on fb)
syncmypics is the best one I've used - it manually associates the photos and gives you the chance to correct any errors (there were no errors on my phone.).!!
sorry.. it's called "syncmypix"
+1 for facebook sync. It permanently adds the picture to the contact, so you can even sync your contacts to gmail and re import them, all with fb pictures, i use it for now, until eclair obv

Hi guys,
On my Desire, I sign in to the facebook account sync and also the facebook app and it syncs all my contacts with pictures from facebook.
This doesn't seem to happen, at least not automatically on my GFs X10. I can link the contacts to facebook accounts but it doesn't pick up their profile pictures like the Desire does.
How can I achieve this?

Well, that option was supposed to be included in the now delayed update So if there are no more delays you'll get this feature sometime in october.
Right now, you can use an app like syncmypix which is free on the market. it will check your phonebook and try to automatically link your facebook friends' pictures to your phonebook contacts. You can manually cange the linking if it's making a mistake.
Sometimes, the Facebook app lets me choose someone's picture and add it as a contact picture (not exactly a sync I know) and most times it doesn't...

Hello.
I have been using cm7 and loving it. Only thing I miss from original Tom is how facebook was tied together with Facebook and would provide updates and show recent picture.
Is there a way to have this on cm7?

No. One of the trade offs
Install Facebook from Market and turn on contact sync for existing contacts. Make sure the contacts on your phone have an email address to match with an email address listed in Facebook.
Thanks. Also I have seen Facebook picture sync apps are they any good?

I tried doing that, downloading Facebook and hoping it would sync everything but it didn't.
So I downloaded an app called 'Contapps' and through the settings you can sync your contacts with your Facebook account, and if theres contacts that don't automatically sync, you can do it manually.
facebook app will aloso sync if the names match exactly. I have mine all set like that and they sync just fine.
Mine seem to be syncing. They all show up as being linked under the contact, but for some contacts their picture doesn't show even though it is linked. Any ideas? And also is there a way to make it so those facebook pics don't show up so blurry in the caller id?
just upgrade to google plus and kiss Facebook Bye Bye.
If you need to see what person look like prior to calling them, you don't know them well enough.
Just edit the contact, and if they're already linked to their Facebook account, click the Facebook photo and choose to "Use this photo."
So for some reason, my contacts will sync with their facebook counterparts, and display their facebook profile picture in the contacts app, but when I dial their number, or receive a text from them, it displays no picture. Any solution?
I think it has something to do with the 'phone' contact overriding the 'facebook' contact. Either way, the way I got around it was by deleting all the phone contacts I had and just going with google and facebook. This, of course, takes away the ability to set individual ringtones (as far as I can tell). But it should solve the issue.

You can try downloading SyncMyPix from market also, it will download all your facebook contacts pics and import them into your phone and google acct contact pictures, but you have to run it every couple of days/weeks if someone changes their FB profile pic and you want the updated one to show up.

Hey folks, I was looking for a way to sync facebook pictures to my existing google contacts; the way HTC and Samsung phones did.
I tried Contact sync for facebook; but instead of syncing pics to your google contacts; this app just downloads another set of contacts with no phone numbers.... I would have an entry with no photo from google contacts; and 1 entry with a picture from facebook.
This is not what i'm looking for.
How does haxsync work? does it actually retrieve facebook pics and add them onto your existing contacts??
Just wanted to find out before I purchase.
THanks!
Haxsync also download another set of contacts (to your phone's contact book) however with address, pictures, birthday, phone numbers, etc. Most of the contacts will be automatically merged properly, however you will have to do some manual editing (you know, since some people are on your contact as "sister" while on FB she may be "Jane Doe", Haxsync can't know that)
Haxsync has a lot of options to customize, and the new version has the ability to merge the contact photo from FB with Google contacts, which is rather awesome (no longer have to redo Haxsync when flashing new ROMs).
I highly recommend Haxsync.
I second haxsync. It works great and it also syncs your calendars from Facebook to your phone. So once you accept an invite to an event, it'll be in your phone with dates, times, and location.

same here
Hey folks,
I've synced my facebook contacts with existing contacts and the images are blurry as hell, like they are a tiny resolution. This used to happen on ICS but was meant to be fixed with Jellybean, seems to have reared it's ugly head again for me.
Anyone else getting the same? and if so have you resolved it?
Thanks,
Ben.
I always use Contact Picutre Sync to sync facebook pictures with contacts

It's the simplest way to do it

Would recommend Haxsync, it will sync the hi-res images as well as your contacts statuses which appear under each conact on your phone. It also syncs the fb calendar and allows you to set reminders for birthdays and events.
I disable the contacts and calendar sync for fb and just use haxsync to do it all.

You don't get people's phones though. That's why I use Facebook sync in the first place.

Fair enought, anyone I want to call I have their number outside of fb. Just use Haxsync as well as the fb contacts sync, it will automatically merge the contacts anyway giving you the number and the high quality photos etc...

I suppose I could do that. I hope it merges the contacts right this time. Last time i used it, it was throwing contacts all over the place. I had to merge them manually.
