Is this the update? "Connecting to DM Server" - Vibrant General

This notification just popped up in the bar about 30 min ago. It still says "Connecting to DM server". Is this the update trying to download?

What does that do? I dont have adb installed on my work PC. Is there a portable version of adb so I dont have to install it?

Thanks.
It is the update. Just go the notification update is ready. My phone though is not ready, not enough juice. Postponed! NOooooo!

I just got it too but it dissapeard. Im not stock though, Im ussing bionix 1.4

This just popped up on my phone also. I am also at work so am not able to adb. Isnt there an app in the market for logs?
I have the oc/uv kernel from JAC... I suppose the update will go fine?
Anyone able to instruct me how to show the URL from where it is downloading?
Trying to install aLogcat from the market now.... doesnt seem to be working. I guess my phone is downloading the update.

download logcollector from the market.

What do you do when you get the message Connecting to DM Server
but nothing happens after that. The message dissappears in a few minutes...along with the icon with the blue and red arrows. I have no data connection. A few times I have turned my vibrant on and the message was there(even though my wifi wasn't running. If I switch my wifi on or not...makes no difference...the message still disappears and nothing more happens. What should I do?

Why is anyone still waiting on the OTA? Just install Kies mini from Samsung and install the update, OR create a shortcut to the update process and force it. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to still be waiting for this OTA to JI6.

Will we be able to install the Froyo update with Kies mini also when is is available...just in case thats the only way I can get it. Oh and I still would like to hear if anyone knows the answer to my question in the above post, please.

Help!! Phone is Frozen....

Ok. So I just got this phone. I had the iPhone before and Im pretty tech savy. I honestly have no idea about this phone. I rooted it and today I received the Tmobile GPS update. Of course silly me updated it. Now its hung on the opening Vibrant screen. I deleted all data thinking it might restore it completely. That didnt work. So now my phone wont work and I have no clue how to fix it. HELP PLZ!
First of all can you access download mode or recovery? Try pressing both volume buttons and power. And let me know what happens.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yea i can access all that. It gives me the "reboot system now" and all the other choices.
So reflash stock thru odin

Not sure how long it takes. Its on "File Analysis"
How long does it normally stay on that?
It appears your phone is Soft-Bricked. You may need to use ODIN to go back to stock

Sorry, took too long replying, i see you already almost there. If it stays too long at the File Analysis phase then there is probably not communication between your PC and your Phone. Make sure your PC detects your phone and that ODIN shows a port number when your phone is connected. (Any port # will do it) Check your drivers. Also if running Windows 7 Vista, try running ODIN as administrator.
The link to get all the files I need isnt working. GRRR!! This is a pain! Lol.

Not long usually.
It sounds like you are in recovery mode vice download mode my friend. Try this:
First make sure you have all the correct drivers for the phone loaded onto your system.
-Close and reopen Odin.
-Unplug the USB cable and remove the battery.
-Reinsert the battery into the phone.
-Hold down both vol down + vol up and plug in the usb cable (make sure it's plugged into your computer first).
This should get you to a yellow screen that has a andriod sweeping, with "Download Mode" displayed at the bottom.
When you look in Odin you should see a little yellow box with a com port number in the upper left. This means the computer and Odin have found the phone, and that it is now ready for flashing.
Select the stock JFD firware for the PDA option, and the correct 512.pit file for PIT.
Try flashing again. Hopefully you get a bit further this time!
YAY!! It worked!! Ok. Thanks for the help.
Oh should I install the Tmobile GPS fix and root it again? Or will it get stuck again?

No! heh....download Kies Mini (there's a thread in here...like pg 1 or 2) install JI6 from there. It's the official release instead of OTA from T-Mobile.

Which version of GB firmware are you on?
Also have you installed any apps recently that your phone started acting goofy around the same time?...

I had this with 2.3.4 but 2.3.5 seems all good.
How can I updates my firmware to 2.3.5?

Wrong order:
PRE-CONDITION: If you have Kies installed - kill its processes on PC using process manager (Alt+Ctrl+Del), then:
1. START Odin;
2. Set download mode on phone
3. Connect your phone

So the device driver is already installed but still no connection, maybe you should turn on usb debugging, try this:
Go to Settings, Developer options and check USB debugging then connect your usb. If it doesn't work, then your ICS update may have caused the problem. You may have to restore your tablet to HC and recheck your usb connection before upgrading to iCS. Good luck!
Did you try this?
Under Settings/Storage there is a menu in the upper right corner.
Open it and then check MTP.

Good info, I wonder if the ICS update disabled this setting? That would definitely cause the usb connection problem.
I know from the GNEX that it happens sometimes if you're flashing a custom ROM so I thought it might be the same case here.
I just updated to .17 today and I'm still having the same issue he is. I haven't tried installing the driver, but my TF101 doesn't connect...
I updated from the .zip here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546113
I guess it may be because I had the problem before the update so the simple update didn't fix it.
Is flashing the .zip from this thread like a new ROM? Will it wipe my data??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334673
Thanks for any help!!

Did you try Nebucatnetzer's advice on Post #10, that may help? Click the MTP off and on a few times just to make sure then leave it on.
Yeah I did try that, and I turned on USB Debugging as well just to see if it would work. Still no luck Does anyone know if the ROM from the "[UPDATE] CWM - Stock + Root - 9.2.1.17 US Updated pi/2012" thread does a full wipe like it's a new install? Or is it just the update itself?
Quick question, what is your Bxx serial? Asus started changing code midstream in the B70 tabs, I have one of them and it's acting differently from my B50. That's one reason I favor an ota update rather than manual, the update codes may be different for different serials.
At this time I suggest a full backup then a factory reset to stock Android. You may have to go through a lengthy update process so make sure you're plugged in and fully charged first. Good luck!

Mine is a B50. The reason I manually updated is because I rooted it a long time ago.... Anyway, I'm going to do that and just let the OTA's roll through. Hopefully I get my USB connection back! Thanks for the help!

Good for you, my B50 is doing great after ICS and yours should be no different. Make sure your wifi is exclusively servicing your tab so there's no interference. Be patient, it will finish in due time. Talk to you later!
If we already have this thread. Does any one have an idea why adb can't see my TF?
Driver is installed, devices shows up under device manager and I can access the storage. But adb isn't working. USB debugging is checked.
It works with my GNEX though.
Updated to ICS, lost root and usb connection. I have the drivers installed and nothing happens. I've messed with MTP, USB Debugging and nothing works. If I boot the transformer into recovery and then connect it to my PC it can see the connection but does not have the proper drivers for it though.

Deleted Rom Before Install

hey Guys,
I by mistake deleted the rom on my phone, I know cannot load the rom or install a new rom. I have tried side loading via ADB, It does not show the device. I have checked in device manager and I can see LG-D802 as an "other" I have installed the drivers though.
Im really stuck and dont know what to do?
Any ideas?

If sideloading a ROM is really impossible, then you either grab an OTG cable and put your ROM on a pendrive/memory-card; OR start your phone in download mode and flash a .kdz.

Thanks for the reply. I really have no idea why I cant side load as I was able to load the Recovery via sideload.
I am battling to find an OTG cable, But I see you can DIY one, I will try this next.
I would really prefer to sideload. I can see the phone in device manager, however its disabled to driver missing.

Stuck forever in Software Version 1.13.652.1

I have a completely stock Virgin Mobile HTC Desire 816.
Not rooted or anything.
I've tried to update the software in the phones settings for months now.
It downloads the 120mb update and when I click 'Install Now' it installs about 10% then I get a red exclamation mark and it fails.
So, I go to HTC's website on my PC and I find the ROM to do it manually... Click download.. download fails.
So, I try Chrome and Internet Explorer (god help us) the download fails.
Am I just going to have to never update or? I don't get why it's doing this.
Any help is highly appreciated.
