Cool thanks gonna switch em out right now!
I didn't like the solitare interface. It was a forced landscape, and the card sizing is funky...not the cards themselves, but the symbols/numbers. They should've taken a cue from WinMo and made the hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades oversized so that they're more visible.
I'm not sure if everyone has seen this, but here is the video from Google's I/O Developer event:
Google I/O Day 2 - Android
It shows a bunch of things coming up in Froyo -
- browser based on chrome engine (3x - 5x faster)
- browser integration with camera, microphone, etc. (think web apps)
- ability to move apps to sd or leave on device
- update all in market place
- error reporting per app
- streaming music from pc to phone
- push apps from web right to phone
- a ton of jabs at apple and the ipad
- lots of new features in froyo, and further out.
It's 45min, so grab some popcorn. If you're an Android fanatic like me though you will enjoy every moment.

i love Google lol

Watching this as I speak. This is awesome.
I saw on Twitter that everyone who went walked out with an Evo

I think many will still use and dev the phone
So I was browsing the Internet to see how cool is to have Flash on Android device, I was sure Adobe improved flash due to many many criticizes about it but I was wrong.
I know(actually I think) that Google did his part, and improved speed and usability in Android, but Adobe still needs a LOT of optimization!
In this video you will see following because of installed Adobe Flash:
-Slow page loading(even though Google improved speed in Froyo!)
-choppy performance
-instability
-huge CPU and RAM usage
Android 2.2 (Froyo) Web Browser Test with Flash enabled
In my opinion don't install Adobe Flash Player
Don't get me wrong guys I love Android 2.2 and Google openness, but ADOBE needs to work...A LOT!
What do you expect? It's a beta release.

Than they shouldn't release it, it is useless!
Apple was right...I can't believe that is true!
This really bugs me, its FAR from useless. I have used it to play music from the myspace music players, games on kongregate, a liveleak video, and on the burger king website. It works great, if you keep it on demand and not on all the time, it won't even slow down your browsing. If you really think that this is useless, and shouldn't be released, then you are an idiot. It may not work 100% yet, but this is a huge step forward for the Android platform, and I for one am thankful that I have it on my Nexus. If you don't want it, you can uninstall it, it's that easy. Stop being whiny idiots and complaining about how it slows this down or uses too much CPU.
You can go into your settings and set the Flash plugin to "On demand" which essentially switches it off until you browse to a site with Flash content when you will see a play button. Press that button and the Flash will load.
Perhaps that should be the default option, but nonetheless, simple to change and is definitely the way forwards in my view.
i don't browse flash based website all the time, so it doesn't bother me at all. at least i know the mobile browser is fully functional for all websites.
Its Beta for a reason "Testing purposes"

Calm down. It's not even hardware accelerated yet. I for one am glad I've got any flash support this far.
If you only wanted something that's 100% failsafe go grab a parchment and quill
I hope the op isn't trolling. Adobe released the beta version for adventurous people to try it. If you don't think it is ready, then fine, just unistall it. No need to jump into conclusion when the final version isn't even out yet. The argument 'then they shouldn't release it (the beta version)' is rather weak because we are talking about a beta version here, which is expected to have flaws here or there...
flash works fine for me...and it definitely doesn't leave my browser sluggish...seems to be faster than the 2.1 browser even with Flash enabled...so I dunno.
Also, the Froyo browser is a fully capable HTML5 browser as well...so no, Apple wasn't right, Google was right...options > no options. I could understand if Google was anti-HTML5 but they are not, in fact as witnessed in the Day 1 Keynote of Google I/O they are one of HTML5's biggest supporters.
They just refuse to abandon the PRESENT to feed the future.
at least we have the option to use Flash.
You can change the plugin settings in the browser to load on demand so it will only load the flash content if u click on it.
Seriously, some people need to learn what "BETA" means. u_u
it's funny.
I was reading this and went to cnn and I was watching that oil spill vid.
And then someone called me. The vid stops and I talk on the phone to a
co worker and then hang up after about ten minutes. After pressing the end call button the video starts back up in the browser.
I thought that was pretty cool.
It's better than I thought it would be, and I'm pretty happy to have it.

Exactly - It's a standalone app that can be uninstalled if you so choose to. I may feel differently if it was integrated. Not sure what Google's plans are when the final is released though.

Other than huge flash sites its awesome for me. I think its easily almost done.
Yeah initially flash slowed down my browser but once I switched it to ON DEMAND only everything is perfect. The thing I like about android is that I have the CHOICE to use flash if I want. I don't have to let apple choose for me. And when html5 matures and is mainstream I will have to choice to use both.

Currently watching World Cup games through ESPN3.com on my Evo ...... SOOOOOOOO NICE.
Quality is much better than Sprint TV
You get to replay all the games and watch live ones
Full DVR controls with markers for each important part in the game
BTW, if Apple is still waiting for an example of Flash running well on a phone this is it.
have you tried other site
can you watch videos on fancast, online movie sites, or clicker,tv? what about dvix online videos?
Needs Froyo right? Just tried on Eclair and no go
damnn when are we going to be able to install froyo?
you can right now, there are two builds in the dev section, but niether are fully functioning

Can you list a couple of those sites that you can watch? I tried Hulu.com and they don't support the Android platform and I went to Adobe for the plugin and they only support Nexus One on Google.
Too bad my ISP is not amongst ESPN3's affiliates, and besides, Nigeria lost to Greece this morning, so i'm in a foul mood already anyway !!!

I did just try hulu and it does not work, some of the video's on justin.tv do.

I would love for it to work but I have a feeling the Sling AP would not work with the new AU.
But... you could go to slingbox.com and sign into your sling player that way and watch with no problem I would assume. I will find out tomorrow.
thanks, I have the same feeling. Slingbox.com will probably work, but not until Xoom gets Flash support.
I doubt slingbox.com would work...you need to install a browser plugin, its not just flash only.
Wouldn't the app work in "stretched" mode?
I'm sure theyll come out with one eventually, im just hoping its a scaleable update to the current one.
I have to hope they don't really expect me to shell out another $30 for a tablet version of the mobile one I already have.

Oh yea, you are correct about the plugin... I completely forgot about that. ha!
Well, hopefully they come out with an ap for Honeycomb, I can't imagine they wouldn't. Hopefully sooner than later.
Slingplayer works but the video quality is not great (not optimized for the large display), but it does work.
Yea I completely forgot about the plugin. Slingplayer would be the app I used most on a tablet. The Droid Streamer Pro app is a good alternative, but i doubt the current version of that will work on honeycomb either.
Thank you. Good to know that at least it works somewhat. I can live with it not being as sharp as it is on a phone as long as its watchable until they update the app for Honeycomb
