know everyone about the "Touch 2" it's possible to take a WM 6.1 Rom on it.
I want this for more perormance and stability.
all this graphic gadgets they come with WM6.5, I don't need that, I use SPB MobileShell for the Surface at the Device and I need a stable OS to install other Apps.
And I think the power consumption is a little bit less at 6.1 as 6.5 (the elfin run 1 week with 1 full charge of the battery)
as example: I have a old HTC Touch (elfin) and all Apps (MobileShell3.5.5, IGo 8.3 and many other....) works perfect but a little slow and no 3,5mm audio jack.
Yes they are:
[ROM-Online(27-08-2010)]WM6.1 Professional v2 built 21057 Hell Fast now
But use version1, becouse in version2 there is not Quick GPS.

Hi,
yesterday I was reading about putting new WM 6.1 on my 614c. After reading all day long other ppl experience about WM6.1 on their devices I decided to put it too….
The main reason I put it it was when I saw this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/meet/wm61-faq.mspx . (I don’t like 3th parity appz so my PDA can “look” different).
After WM was done installing on my PDA I was a bit puzzled. My today screen is/was looking the same like on WM6.
So is there by any chance something I’m missing here or theirs no such feature on our beloved devices?!?
TNX
Btw I have iPAQ 614c ROM WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.20757 (Build 20757.1.4.0).
Hm... yes, you seem to have confused the home screen on Windows Mobile Standard with the one on Professional. WM 6.1 Pro's home screen is exactly like the one on WM6.
If you're really against 3rd "parity" plugins, I hope you're ready to wait until Q2 2009 - that's supposedly when WM 7 will be out.
That’s odd a bit.
Coz I taught it was like in Vista case. Vista Ultimate has all the features it’s up to the user which one he will use and which one not.
So from my point of view WM Standard has better GUI than WM Professional.
But nwm I will wait…
BTW tnx 4 answer and keep up the good work.
Hello. I need a wm 6.1 or 6.5 to put on my trinity. (p3600) I want to install igo8 and mio v3.3 on it. Can you tell me witch wm i can use? I need space and at least 30mb free ram for installing igo8, mio and any other software. I tried all kins of rom but igo 8.3.2 is not installnig anymore. please help.
WM 6.1, I dont belive that the Trinity has enough RAM to run WM6.5
I use this ROM on my trinity without any issues
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494727
i'm currently using wm6.5 (i believe TRIN_WM6.5__3_00_707_51__B21232) and it seems pretty stable so far. The only real issue i've had is with the status icon in the top right of screen that shows programs running and mem usage, it's disappeared and the only way i got it back was doing a hard reset, but then it went again. Apart from that all good so far.
I'm using the rom as supplied and have installed no extras apart from TomTom7, which works fine.
I do get a bit of slow down occasionally but it doesn't seem any worse than 6.1 and killing off apps using task manager generally sorts it out.
Hope this helps

Hi deedee,
Thank you, that was good advice, I had to fix a friend's Trinthy P3600, I took your advice and 21014.1.6.0 ROMs first I tried the full version but then switched to the Medium and it was awesome. From a fresh boot it gave me more then 29MB of RAM, Then I loaded a ton off apps like iGO8, SPB mobile Shell with SPB weather and SPB TV, Mobi Pocket Reader, AE Buttons, StopTime, scientific Calculator and RDP (and I thin I am missing a couple of them) but it is working great.
Very Good Stable and Fast ROM, since it was this post of yours that guided me to that ROM so I owe you tons of Gratitude. And I also owe chanv93 lots of thansk for making such wonderful ROM and putting it out there for dumb noobs like me who are not smart enough to cook their own ROMs.
Good Work chanvi93 and many many Thanks
For people who liked the speed of windows mobile 6.1 i found a fix to make windows 6.5 just as fast. ( i take no responsibility if you mess your phone up)
1) step use the latest version of tess pride( tess is what i always use)
2) change the wall paper (go to settings then select wallpaper) this disables the animation witch slows down the phone.
3)install the NeoS2007_Driverpack_3 cab ( i take no credit for this cab)
4)restart your phone and your touch flo or sense (what ever its called in windows mobile 6.5 should be a lot faster and smoother.)
tell me how this worked out for you guys.
I have used several ROMs with sense 2.5 for its quick link facility. I use lots of Medical tools with my HD. But as HD is well outside the capabilities for Sense 2.5 was designed. And I feel it is very slow for everyday use sometimes.
I have used Win 6.5 Titanium with SPB Mobile shell. There are many themes which simulate sense 2.5 with shortcut functionality. For example HTC PURE STYLE 3 from Mobilecustom.fr. There are even win Mobile 7 like skins from Proplus.
I feel some speed gain but not sure whether it is my mind due to bias.
Which combo is faster???? Post your experiences!
Mobile shell is it for me, very flexible
i am using a touch hd with stock rom 6.1 ( i cannot comment on 6.5, )
i also have SPB Mobile shell with... HTC PURE STYLE 3 from Mobilecustom.fr.
( the best, been using..HTC PURE..for a couple of versions back ..)
further i have also " tweaked " some applications and programs with HD TWEAK .
further, a few registry tweaks .fixes eg. fix .. if phone is woken from sleep and is normally unresponsive/lag........now response, is immediately...!
also addded..
TSALTA MAGIC TWEAKS CAB,
added certain driver fixes found here on XDA..!!
RESULT.....
i have found my hd to be very ..very smooth,( hardly any lag..at all )
quite " fast " and very ,finger friendly.in fact..+- 95 %( i really dont need the stylus ,only use it now and then ) and plenty of shortcuts etc..
bottom line , i have seen a rep. for HTC , who was flashing a hd2, in his hand , ( in a phone shop ) look at me and shake his head and mumble something about..illegal ..flashing ..etc..
i said to him no... stock rom, with tweaks , etc..
what i am trying to say with the right reg.edits..tweaking ..and such applications, as above ,etc...
you will get the right effect, that you are looking for ,on the hd..!!!!!
good luck

I'm very new with the Athena (or Ameo) I will get this week. I had a Touch Diamond (nice, but so small and slow for me) and a Toch Pro 2 (cool gadget so far). Now I have bought an Ameo I have wanted so long and I hope this little nice device will live a long time.
Well, because I'm new the the Ameo I have some questions and hope you experts can help me.
The Touch Diamond had a VGA screen too but with much lower size and a slower CPU. So, programs running on the Diamond are also possible to use on the Ameo?
Can I use the latest SPB Mobile Shell on the Ameo without issues? Haven't found some infos about.
I can use the 16GB MicroSDHC from my Touch Pro 2 with a simple MiniSD-Adapter on the Ameo, right?
And the most important questions: Whats the ROM I need? Okay, without any informations this is the most stupid question I can tell, I know. I'm looking for a light ROM (German would be nice, but English is good too) based on WM 6.1 or 6.5, but should be stable with all function working like the base ROM. I also want to use the G-Sensor (not only on internet browser), GPS, WLAN and VGA/TV-out. Bluetooth is necessary for using headset. And I have seen a special driver for the ATI chip. Do I need a ROM with this builtin driver or can I install it later?
Best regards

Thanks for your replay, baramuli!
Now I have tried some ROMs... original T-Mobile MW6 (brrrr ), HTC WM6, full AP 4.0, xXaCsXx V4.31 Clean and V4.31 HH WM6.1 (all German), irus Ultra Vanilla WM6.1 and AP4.0 Vanilla, WM6.5 MULTILANG R6.5 RC1 MiChY and lennie's AGB V3.00.0. Some I have flashed more then once to check special tweaks or settings.
WM6.1 build are nice and fast, had around 120MB storage and 80MB free mem. Well, AP4 was startlingly slow.
Michys R6.5 was best looking on paper, but on the Ameo I had much trouble with it. I like the 6.5 design, but R6.5 was unuseable for me. Had have freezes, non working keyboards, broken start menu and some more.
But AGB V3 was amazing. Stable, fast (for a WM6.5.x build) and I haven't found bad bugs so far. The only point I'm not happy with it are the big menus and fonts. Well, its nice for small displays but oversized on the Ameo. I hope I can make some changes here.
Yes, the Ameo is not the fastest device, but pretty usable and my Touch Pro 2 with WM6.5 has dropouts yet. The Ameo can play the same movies I had watched on the TP2 and games (Palm Heroes, NfS Underground, Spore) are a pleasure on 5" (yes, I'm 34 but I like to play games, some times ).
Mobile Shell was nice on the Ameo but I was not happy with it.
My 8GB Class 4 Kingston microSDHC is running without problems on a MiniSD adaptor on the Ameo but I will change to 16GB Sandisk from my TP2.
ATM I try to optimize AGB V3 for myself (change some programs on the ROM, make some registry tweaks).
