Is there any way to install BlurAlarmClock after installing the EpicUnleashed 2.5 rom? I already tried putting the apk in my apps folder and changing the permissions but nothing seems to work.... thanks in advance!

Try to copy the current Clock.apk to your sdcard for a backup then delete it from your system/app folder and then install the other AlarmClock.apk. see if that works. I had the same problem when I was trying to install the D2Eye modded live wallpaper and it installed fine after I removed the original eye livewallpaper.

I am using root explorer to copy the city id and 3g hotspot apk from my sd card to system /app but every time I try to install I get application not installed. I changed permissions and everything. I do not know what I am doing wrong. I un installed them with titanium and want to restore them. I did a backup but did not see an option to reinstall. So, I just downloaded the apk's and am doing it this way.
Where did you get the apk's? I need the City id

Here is where I downloaded the cityid apk. Hope it helps. I do not even know if it was the right one. They are for the Droid X but I assumed since they are similar it would work but I can not ge it to install to my system /app

APK doesn't install
Yes, there's something strange going on with the TAB.
I get "application not installed" when I try to reinstall the mail app. I've also tried moving the APK into the system/app folder but it won't even with r/w access.
I've also tried installing with adb, but that throws INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT.
The same file installs fine on my HTC Desire.
I used Superoneclick to root the TAB, and terminal seems to get su without problem, but I think there's something I'm missing.
Any help gratefully received.
I am trying to install APK's that I deleted. I moved the copied APK's from the SD card to the system/App file and tried to install through root explorer but I keep getting error (application not installed)? I have reset permissions and tried again but same error, any help?
For future reference?
If u want to change for example the camera app /apk you have to place the new apk where the old one was instead of installing ...if thats your problem ^^

System APK's or APK's in use (loaded at startup) cannot be installed, you would have to copy and paste, or push the file to the location which would overwrite the old one if the file name is the same.
Hi,
I have deleted calendar application (accidentally) from my phone. Titanium backup also not showing the backed up calendar so i can't restore it.
I tried installing the calendar.apk (extracted from the rom package) it forced stop with error.
I want my calendar back. Is there any way. I am using cm 7.1 rom 2.3.4.
Please Help
Thanks
can you explain how u delete that?because it is very necessary to solve ur problem.
I believe that if you flash a relevant gApps .zip file you should be able to get it?

Did you try pushing the Calender.apk and CalenderProvider.apk to /system/app/ using adb or root explorer. Then changing the file permissions to rw-r-r. Maybe it works. (If it force closes again, clear the application data from /settings/applications/manage applications/all/ and restart. )

Dear all,
Yesterday I updated my P7510 to ICS using the UK ICS release and rooted the thing properly. I managed to delete some of the preinstalled apps using RootExplorer in the \system\app folder, but for example I cannot find the apk to get rid of Pulse (what is the name of the apk in this case). Is it located somewhere else or is there another folder in which apps are stored as well? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Although I can help you with the location, manually deleting the apps from /system/app seems like to much "work". Just get Titanium Backup and uninstall (and probably backup first) Pulse and all the other via the app.
Thanks for your reply. In the mean time I kicked out all unwanred preinstalled apps manually, so I am only looking for the apk name of pulse
I found that some apps were just "Installed" have you tried to just uninstall them?

Not all apps are installed to /system/apps when you ODIN flash, check /data/app for the Pulse.
Hi,
I've been wondering if I could somehow push the stock 4.2.2 Launcher that comes with the stock jellybean update into lets say CM10.1? I always preferred the stock Launcher over all those different ones, is it possible though?
Take the app from the stock ROM located in system/app. I believe its called "launcher2".
Then just put it into the system/app directory of the other ROM. Also change the permissions to rw-r-r, and delete the old launcher that is there. (In the case of CM, I think the original launcher is trebuchet so delete that apk)

I tried that before and I couldn't get it to work, I also tried to install the "Launcher2.apk" and it refused to install, I managed to install it by doing the following steps:
1-Flash the stock ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147281
2- Download Titanium backup and back-up the "Launcher2.apk" file.
3- Do a full reset to phone/cache/dalvik
4- Flash the latest RC1 CM10.1 or whatever ROM, then reboot.
5- Install TB again and then restore (App+Data) for the "Launcher2" file.
6-Reboot
7- When booted, choose the "Launcher2" as the default Launcher.
8-Finally, launch TB and deleted "Trebuchet", Reboot.
The procedure might take long and I'm not sure if there is an easy way to do it, but I got it to work that way.
Thanks!
