I waited to order a Micro SD card because I knew the Nand Android was coming soon, but it just seems like a better idea to have a good SD card to have. Does anyone have a link to a specific card I should buy? Or even the specific class I need.
Transcend class 6 card are fine with Android.
Don't buy Team branded class 6 cards, they are awful.
Kingstonn class 4 8gb is best
Thanks guys, I just realized someone had already posted on the front page like 2 days ago. :/ Search usually doesn't work for me.

I picked up a class 4 Kingston 16 GB from Fry's last weekend to replace the stock 16 GB. For me, it seems like a different phone as I haven't had any black screen freezes, unresponsive touch screen, and battery life is significantly better. After a 12 hour day at work my phone would be almost dead, now it has plenty of juice.

Yes, but I wanted to try a class 4. The HTC replacement will still be a class 2 from what I have seen.

Recently bought one off of eBay for $40 (+ $9 3-day USPS shipping) and it works as good as gold in my HTC Touch Pro. It was listed as "bulk" and did not come in the official Sandisk blister pack; therefore, this could possibly be gray-market hardware, but it works as listed none the less.
Perfect amount of space for my GPS software and my music/talk-radio.
I have had it for about 5 days now and have had zero compatibility or usage issues.
Cheers!

Haha, he said possibly... I'm pretty sure that MicroSD card you just bought was not manufactured by Sandisk. Good to hear that it's working okay though.
Ya, well I bought a 16GB MicroSD card and it has been working FLAWLESSLY...until tonight. I was re-installing a ROM and re-installing TT7...when the install hung...told me it couldn't install...then the card just died. Hopefully SanDisk will RMA it...

Well, most suggest that you remove the SD card prior to installation of a new ROM. I am using my card with Elite RC2 Rom, but have not tried leaving it in while installing a new ROM.
At this point, I have purchased 3 Sandisk Micro SD cards (2 4 gig HC's, and 1 8 gig HC) over the past 1.5-2 years off of eBay and haven't had a single one of them fail... none of them came in Sandisk blister packs.
Time will tell...

Im sure you could find one cheaper, but I am willing to bet is bootleg. Anyway the 55.00 ballpark is not that bad. Or you can wait till the 32gb releases. That will drop the price of the 16 big time.
Gotta link?????

Pretty cheap now. However, I have heard that class 6 speed with 16GB+ size cards can be unreliable....anyone know if there's any truth in this?

So is the SanDisk 16GB Class 2 card good? Mainly the class 2 part. Will it be much slower than my current class 4 8GB card?
I just got my Sandisk 16gb card. It was Sandisk branded in a Sandisk blister pack. It works, but so far I'm having intermittent problems with my MP3 files pausing and starting again. Sometimes worse than others. It happens with Kinoma, Coreplayer, Windows Media Player and the Sprint Music player. Are there any ways of minimizing this?

It will not be much slower (could even be faster). Check this thread, where someone posted his c4 8GB card benchmark, which was lower than my numbers posted at the end.

Try reformatting, and apply this patch as well. I got a bulk package from ebay, and I haven't had a single problem so far (more than 2 weeks).

What is the largest capacity the HTC Touch Pro can handle? I thought it was only a 8GB?
Decided to get a new and bigger memory card at once so i dont have to think about if i have enough space all the time.
But what should i go for? was thinking about a class 6 card or are a class 4 card enough? think 8Gb should be enough for me. feel free to come whit advices.
Definitely Class 6

8GB Maxell Class 6 for £14 (normally a lot more) - and maxell have been around since the dawn of time as far as storage goes.
thanks for the answer, and yes that ebay deal was a nice one. but can the phone use a class 6 card to all its power?
Firstly, Woops sorry - didn't realise that auction had already ended. There are others on ebay, similarly priced but mostly brands I've never heard of
As for the magic using class 6 to its full... that I can't answer. Reading around, people recommend going for a class 6 and there's no harm in it.
What would annoy you more though, buying a class 4 - only to find out the magic can use a class 6 to its full and you could have got one for just £5 more. Or buying a class 6 first time round, and the magic not quite using it at full speed - thus not stressing it, and potentially even lengthening its life.
Know which one I'd prefer

isellapples: yeah i guess its best to go for class 6. found a card on ebay, but the problem is that im not sure who made the cards and i do like to know what i buy. Anyone have any experience whit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8GB-CLASS-6-MICRO-SD-SDHC-MEMORY-CARD-FOR-NOKIA-E90-N95_W0QQitemZ230350051969QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_AudioTVElectronics_PDAsAccessories_MemoryCards?hash=item35a1eeda81&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1683%7C240%3A1308%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
I bought a Transcend 4GB Class 6 which failed after a week. Sure it was a probably a one off though.
if you are in the US or kind find wher you are from look at this card. Is a great and fast card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820183244
I'm using a class 2 16Gb Sandisk card that I was using in another phone. Works perfectly well.
I have been using a pny 8 gb class 4 card in my phone for the past 3 weeks. It had been working great, but today it reset and lost all my data. God the phone up and running after a hard reset.
anyways, I want to purchase a 16gb card now. But i want to get one that I know will work. I read through the working sd card thread, but I found it challenging to pick out the ones that really worked. many people had success stories, but often they were from cards they only had for a few weeks, or with little of the memory used.
so my question, is what is the safest 16gb card for the focus. One that no one has had any trouble with. After reading through the thread i saw no one complaining about the samsung 16gb class 4. Can any confirm or deny this?
I've been running the Samsung 16g for about a month now without a single problem. Bought it off eBay from seller doctorwatsonsclinic.

awesome. I've actually been looking at one from the same guy. Have you filled it past the internal 3 gb?
Internal NAND is 8g, I have over 10g stored on it and growing.
I have been using the 16GB Patriot memory card and I have not had any issues yet.

i've heard that one is good. How long have you had it? and how full is it.
I have had it about 3 weeks and I only have about 10 gigs free on my phone. I will try to fill it up all the way and let you know how it does.
anyone else?
Going by the posts, the safest would be these Class 4, 16GB cards: Patriot & Kingston.
I've been using a 16gb Samsung class 2 for the past 2 weeks. No resets or lost data. I've noticed some slowdown at times but nothing major. Much better than the 32gb SanDisk class 2 I was using, which had multiple resets and data loss after just five days

Goodnight/Good morning my fellow XDA-ers!
Okay so I have a USA T-Mobile HD2 I installed WP7 the day after it was released by DFT but the day after I was forced back to WM6.5 due to the SD card issue, my device was constantly restarting every 15-ish minutes. I was wondering if anyone has any experience running WP7 successfully on their HD2's for a decent amount of time with a specific card. I'm willing to purchase one of these cards as I want to get away from WM6 as soon as possible, but I really want to know if the card will work!
What I'm looking for is a 16Gb card that works. So if you have purchased a 16GB micro SD card that has been working flawlessly with your HD2 for some time now, please chime in, and please include a serial number as I want to get the exact thing!
Thanks for your time.

Just recently purchased a Sandisk 16gb card. Works flawlessly. No crashes, hangs, resets or whatsoever.
AAARRRGGHHH!!!!
how many times do a few others and myself have to tell people this!!!
no two cards are alike, you could buy two identical cards and one might not work, there is no "working card list"
Statistically you will have better luck with a class 2 or a class 4, ive personally had better luck with sandisk class 4
but that is it, its just luck
I've been running mine flawlessly since the first rom (now on my second) on my HD2. I'm using the stock 16gb SanDisk that came with the phone. Indeed it is "luck of the draw" but most people I've talked with and/or flashed for others have had no problems with the stock sd cards.

I like you had the same problems with a few SD cards. I remembered seeing a post going back about Sandisk selling SD cards as being HD compatible. So I did a search and found the cards and their model numbers, bought one and have had no problems at all, no lag and WP7 runs perfectly!

Yeah, the class 2 sandisk with serial ending in A11M were called wp7 certified by sandisk for about a day before they pulled that certification. What dazza said is true... at the moment, card makers don't test their random access speeds and don't keep them consistent enough batch to batch to guarantee any specific card will work. Sandisk makes very high quality cards and I think you're best chance of getting a card that works is to go with class 2 or 4 sandisk. I have few Sandisk class 2 cards ending in A11M... 1 8gb, 2 16gb, and 1 32gb. All work... All work flawlessly except for 1 of the 16gb cards, which give a little lag, but no resets or anything like that. After testing, the access speeds are very different on the 2 cards, even though they are the same brand, class, and model number. Were even bought from same store, but 6-9 months apart.
So yeah, if you want to try wp7, go for a class 2 or 4 sandisk. It will most likely work... but there's no 100% guarantee. But sandisk has good warrantee... if in the rare case it doesn't work, tell sandisk it's brok or something and try to get them to send a different one.

Thanks a lot my man.
I got a Sandisk Class 4 at radio shack (good sale at the time) and it works perfect. Not a single hicup.
I am using the original class 2 16GB card that came with my HD2 and it works flawlessly.
Hi, I just for the 16gb sandisk card that was on sale at newegg and my G2 is having problems dectecting it.
I know android has problems with class10 cards so I bought the class 4 one.
when i plug in the card and start up the phone sometimes it say the SD card is blank.
also while im using the phone the sd card will say it unmounted or the android files in the card will turn into weird icons.
does anyone have this problem too?
I formatted it to Fat 32 many times.
i bought the same card on newegg. Although i haven't had the chance to use it yet, i was just gonna format it and copy the whole of my previous SD to it. Does your card work on any other device? if not might need to RMA
No i haven't had time to try it on my other phones yet.
I had to Clone the old card to the new card and so far no problems.
so problem solved?
I think so.
I couldn't just drag the files over.

They may or may not work okay. But Class 10 cards seem to cause more problems than lower class cards, based on user posts here. Plus, the extra expense doesn't seem justified, as you will not see much if any performance gain.
Since I'm in school, I got a lot of problems with sandisk product. (stop working without a sing, corrupt, takes days to boot).
For my usb flash drives I use patriot now. Never got problems, especially with the little 8gb usb key. Excellent reviews on newegg.
I bought class 10 16 gb micro usb patriot. Run some bench marks, average 11 mb/s writing. Since 5 months, lot of testing roms and watching videos, no problem yet.
Be careful with bad reviews because some people runs day long benchmarks. It kills flash memory.

Does Sandisk work better if you're not in school
Odd. Was it a genuine Sandisk product, purchased from a reliable source (like Newegg). Because there are a heck of a lot of Sandisk counterfeits on places like eBay. Sandisk and Kingston are probably the most counterfeited brands of flash memory. On the other hand, its just possible you had a defective unit. Its impossible for even the most reliable electronics manufacturer to be 100% free of defective units.
I've used 3 different Sandisk Micro-SD cards in my smartphones and tablet, one of them is almost 4 years old. Only had a problem once, and a format fixed it right up. Also used Sandisk SD and CF cards in my cameras for years, without issue.
Today my Transcend 16gb class 10 arrived and I installed in my DZ.
Not any problems until now ...

Happens to me about every other week. My Sandisk 16gb class 4 card is from my local Radio Shack, so I doubt it's fake. Perhaps some G2's don't like class 4 cards? When it happens to me, I see that message when I get up in the morning.
