Does your device have a chin? If you don't know what I mean (bend at bottom of it with keypad) then it's not the G2 Touch.
This is the htc hero. If it's a hero, then it's the right place. If not, look at the index maybe.

In other words, 256/192 (i.e. identical to dream but no keyboard) or 512/288 (which at least trades the keyboard for more flash/ram).

Theres a rather large problem with your plan here..
Your sapphire is locked to vodafone, our dreams are locked to tmobile. Unless you're going to pay to get both unlocked, I doubt you'll find anyone to trade.
I have an android Dev phone. I would consider trading, if for no other reason, because I can sell yours for a bit more.
To be honest though, I probably wouldn't want an even trade. I have 2 skins, a hard cover, and a 2 week old 2600 innocell battery, a bodyguardz screen cover installed (and an extra BG screen cover). I would also want you to get yours unlocked.
I was planning on selling my g1 soon anyway, because to be honest, I am thinking about buying a Toshiba TG01.

Well today i have become a member of this forum i did manage to swap my magic for a g1 with a fantastic honest guy Malachi byfield we posted the phones to each other and it kinda shows that their are honest people left in this world we did the exchange on trust and trust alone .. thanks malachi and hey to all here in this forum !!!

Im not quite sure now. I'm hearing two different sizes i was told 3.6 and also 3.8 so i don't know. Either way its still will be a upgrade from my i637 jack.
Is this LG Quantum, LTE capable so when AT&T rolls out LTE, we don't have to change our phones?
I hate to upgrade and pay $199 only to find out that it will stay on 3G.

Bumping this for the benefit of the G2 folks, in case they haven't seen it.
Yes, I know the entry in the poll says "Desire Z" and not "Vision" or "G2/Desire Z". I PM'd the guy who is running the poll but it looks like he doesn't want to change it, based on what he says in the first post.
Anyway, "we" are not doing too well vs some of the other phones, so if you are bothered about this sort of thing, why not vote ?

This used to be the HTC Vision forum... now we're using carrier branding? Gets confusing when the phone has three names... and possibly more if the Merge ends up being the same and the HTC Shift.

Well, the G2 forum used to be called the G2/Vision forum IIRC (or something very similar). But whilst the Desire Z had its own forum, that didn't have the Vision label on it, even though it's a Vision phone.
I think this is all part of the initial confusion about the G2 and DZ being somehow fundamentally different, when they're not (just different radio bands and hardware keyboard layout).
It would be good if we could start referring to the phones as "Vision" more often, I agree.

We're standing pretty good at 6% which is 6th place. Considering we've one of the most recently released phones, I'd say that's not too shabby. The rest have been out for awhile.
I had to google what a Leo was, I didn't know the HD2 was so wildly popular lol.

The Desire HD has been out around the same amount of time (slightly less I think ?). But unlike the Vision, it wasn't fragmented into two differently-labelled phones (G2/DZ).

That's what I thought at first too. But it didn't get released in the US until March 2010, I think.

It kind of urks me to see it reffered to one way (desire z) or another (g2). It confuses me too. Altho I call it g2 when I'm talking about it in person I know the people who own the desire z probably get annoyed to hear someone call their device the g2. I totally agree the forum name should be changed to htc vision as well as the poll.

Yeah, mine says that as well. It doesn't really have much point, except to advertise that the phone has Sense and to distinguish it from the other versions of the Desire Z (not sure about the Vision, but the G2 doesn't have Sense on it).
Mine also says "with Google" on the battery cover, just in case I wasn't sure who made Android I guess....

Yeah G2's say "with google" and DZ's say "with HTC sense"... really only helpful to distinguish between the two but who really cares about sense on the back of their phone?

"Vision" is just the codename for the phone. All models of the Desire Z and G2 are "Vision" (e.g. the word is in the filenames for RUUs for both phones).
May it doesn't matter, just thought that it was an interesting mistake

Wait, so you're telling me you started off with (what I assume to be) a T-Mobile G2 and they gave you a HTC Sense-less "Desire Z" in return?
Does the front of your device say "HTC" or "T-Mobile" on it? Does the battery door have a "G2" engraved or is it blank? Maybe you could take a couple pictures? I'm really curious about this.

I'm extremely curious about this peculiarity, as I am trying to remove all non-HTC branding from the device in an attempt to transform my "T-Mobile G2"-branded Vision into a more HTC-esque Desire Z. Except without Sense... simply because I don't like it.
I'd like to get a screen that says "HTC" and not "T-Mobile". I already ordered the appropriate battery cover.

Chinese model. Only changed the button below!
The clone is just that, I understand it works well, but the roms are different, so if you'r thinking of buying a cheap model and flashing it to Android or a decent win mo then its a no go and you will end up with a brick - there are posts on it here, try the search option
