Hey,
just wanted to know if anybody is able to port the great Taskbar from the MIUI ROM to a Sense-ROM. Neo managed to make the taskbar transparent already, so I think there is a way.
Thanks in advance guys!
Best, jakob
Alrighty here it is.
Just flash it and see what happens. I'm not running a sense rom, and borrowed the framework-res.apk from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788214http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788214, so I cant guarantee it'll work. If it doesn't ill try again. Nandroid first.
Thanks to user rujelus22 for that, as it's his theme.
Lemme know how it goes.
Josh.

I would like to know if any of the guys are working on themes for Haykuro's Modded FW? Thank you.
I've been trying to make my own Gloss Suite... but it just came back as "(Bad)" when I tried to flash it.
It's the only thing holding me back from 5.01G.
My G1 is naked without a theme! LOL.
Manup has ported over his moondust theme for build G, looks amazing check it out.
hey
thank you guys.. and I hope you can make your theme work.
So, there are so many people making really good roms now. A little dash of this and a hint of that, and viola, your flashing my rom on your phone!!
So how do you start cooking roms?
What software is needed? Do you need eclipse? Do you just need a file manager and an unzip utility?
Has anyone created a tutorial on cooking a rom?
I have some skill with android, and am pretty good and flashing and stuff, I wouldnt mind adding root a build that I like or taking something else out. Maybe add an app to the image, or add an option to my recovery image.
Where do I start?
Have a look at this thread, particually post #8

Also you could try posting in the Sapphire Android development forum next time
Thanks, Im up and going now. Me and my brother (my brother and I) are going to make a 'loaded' rom with lots of apks preloaded apks.
Question, where are the default wallpapers stored? What about the animated boot logo?

The boot animation depends if you're asop or sense. Sense (If I remember correctly) is System/customize/resources. And ASOP is System/Media
Hey folks,
I posted this in the Q&A forum with no luck so I figured I would try here.
I have a friend that would like a pink theme for her desire. I have installed Oxygen 2.0 on her desire and she was wondering if I could find a pink theme. I have googled and looked all over but can't seem to find anything.
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks in advance.
I have been looking for the same thing for days now.
Would be very grateful if anyone out there was feeling up to helping us find or design one.
I have tried a few times to get my head around the developer stuff but as soon as i get past changing directories i get lost :s

You have two options. First LauncherPro doesn't support themes
* Install ADW Launcher and this theme Pink ADW Theme
(or)
* Flash MIUI ROM and you will have varity of themes (one I could find is from another forum Pink-Pheonix Theme
I feel sheepish
Thank you for quick and easy fix. You're a gem.
A while back I requested the lockscreen sliders from the R2-D2 Droid2 to be ported to our Glaciers and it was kind enough to have been fulfilled by Rich2Thad. It looks and works great with CM7 RC1. He based it on MrDSL's Mixer Theme. I had also done some personalization to it once he got everything functioning on it. Since RC2 came out and MrDSL released a version of his theme that works with RC2, I went ahead and merged the Star Wars theme with the new Mixer. Everything works great, except the call answer screen. I cannot get it to show the proper lockscreen sliders. I copied the files into the same places that Rich had used in the RC1 version. If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong I would really appreciate it!
Here's the link to download the RC2 Star Wars theme.
I want to say thank you to MrDSL for his killer Mixer theme. Without it I would not have my super pimp Star Wars theme! And also thank you to Rich2Thad! Because without him I would also not have my super pimp Star Wars theme! It really does make other nerds drool!
I believe the png's you are looking for are in the phone.apk. You can modify them just like the frameworkres.apk. Hopefully this helps you out.
Edit: Just pull the images from the old phone.apk and place them in the new phone.apk.
Sent from my BluMagic Slide using the XDA App
Did you get this working?
No, I never got the call screen working. I tried to edit your most recent theme in apk format to try to get this working too. But whenever I try to install it, it says application not installed. I'm at kind of a loss as to what to try next. :/

Zip the images you're trying to replace and put them here and let me look
Hopefully renamed correctly to match.
Here they are. Thanks so much for checking this out!

It looks correct to me..I assume you're using the apk? After you replaced the images did you resign the .apk? It won't install without being signed..
If you don't know how then attach your modified version of my .apk here and I will sign it for you and repost it when I get home..
Use the newer Mixer_03.apk
edit...after looking at the images you want to replace you would need to use the metamorph file since the theme engine doesnt work with the lock screen..give me a few here
I did not sign it! That would be the reason! I think I can get it signed with Android Commander. Thanks so much for looking at it! If I run into any problems with signing I'll post it up. Thanks again!
EDIT: I looked at your thread on the General Themes forum and it only has Mixer_02.apk
The lock images you will have to use a metamorph on cause they won't work in the apk but all the other images can go directly in the apk..I would go ahead and put all the images there so they are there but the lock screen you will have to use a metamorph..
Follow?
Sorry Mixer_02 cause I havent released Mixer_03 yet.
I'm pretty sure I follow. Just replace the images in your metamorph zip with the images I have for the lockscreen.

and the phone.apk also..they have a couple lock images also.
Thanks so much for all your help man! I cannot wait to get out of class so I can finish building this! And thanks for your badass theme! It is a perfect base!
In your new theme, is it supposed to remove the power control bar in the notification drawer?
EDIT: Nevermind a reboot fixed it. So weird though.
So are you going to share your nifty new Star Wars theme? I was using the old one too but of course have since moved on since it's been "outdated". I'd love to give your new one a try though.

Mostly what he is doing is just replacing some images from my .apk..What you could do is install the Mixer.apk and then just apply his metamorph to it.
So hopefully he will share his metamorph..
Absolutely I will! I just finished it up. I'm getting errors when unzipping my metamorph, but it installs just fine. I got it up and running. I will also upload my version of your theme if you're okay with it.
Okay... I posted the MetaMorph zip in your thread MrDSL. Here is a link to the post.

Okay cool. Ill add it in later when I'm not on tapatalk.
Hello everebody,
Introducing my self again im a noob in android but with google im learning a little xP.
So I have updated my fone to Gingerbread 2.3.6 Stock, and now i cant get MIUI rom flashed in my fone as it is based in froyo kernel. So i have the ideia to download the miui rom, copy the framework-res.apk and replace my fone original framework. In my mind the uggly stock rom will look like miui, but i dont know if this will really happen. So i ask u guys, can i do that? Will my phone look like miui or it will become completely bug? Its safe to do that? Can u explain how?
Thanks everybody and sorry for my english.
Just google miui.apk and just install the launcher. www.4shared.com has something. When i tried it for a friend we could only find an older version that didn't let you have more than 4 icon on the dock.
But yes, visually you can make it like miui.
I know that i can install the launcher but this wont change notification bar and lockscreen, and those are the things that i really want to change, so can i load miui framework-res.apk in a stock rom? Will my phone look like miui or it will become completely bug? Its safe to do that? Can u explain how?
Well you could make a nandroid backup, then just do it.
If it doesn't work maybe look into miui themes for go launcher or such, I think they chagne stuff like task bars don't they? Not really sure though.
I don't think the MIUI framework-res would work with stock ROM and launcher themes don't change notifications etc AFAIK.

changing the system ui and framework won't do any harm like bricking my phone? does it?
Not permanently. Worst case scenario - you'll get a boot loop and have to flash back to stock, and start again.
For me this would be a non-issue, but perhaps it's too much hassle for some so each to their own.
But bottom line it would take no more than 1/2 an hour to just test it yourself and fully restore if things didn't work out and that's probably going to be the fastest way to get an answer about this.
I'd give it a crack myself for you, but my phone has been in for repair for 46 days in a row so far... so you'll be waiting a while for that
i've tried it and it got a bootloop is every framework.jar and framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk is unique to every phone??
Yes it is..Completely unique for all devices
I've seen MIUI running on top of a stock ROM, specially in xperias.
Maybe this helps:
