Wpa2 enterprise / peap WiFi support - Droid Incredible General

I'm surprised to see that wpa2 enterprise isn't supported. It would be great if I could connect to my office wireless and access the network. Anyway to make this work or support enterprise? Thanks

Works for me, sure you have your settings right

well thats sorta the thing. I cant input the correct settings cause I dont have the options to. I need wpa2 enterprise and all that is available is wpa2 personal. I dont get the fields to enter the correct info without choosing enterprise.

I'm having the same issue. Information about the network I can't connect to is found below:
SSID: eduroam
Security Mechanism: WPA2/AES-CCMP, WPA2/enterprise, WPA/TKIP or WPA-enterprise
Authentication: PEAP (Protected EAP, EAP-PEAP)
Authenticationprotocol: MS-CHAP-v2
Normally when I connect to the same network with my laptop, I need to put in a username and a password, but I'm not able to put in any username on the phone.
Do you need any apps to solve this problem?
Edit: Didn't notice this wasn't the desire forums (was redirected here from making a new thread). I've got a Desire with Android 2.2.

I have the same problem , any ideas ?

Would this not be WPA2 Enterprise or is it something different? I just use Personal at home so don't know.
Edit... oops, shows my name

Try this:
Go to your comm manager and hit menu, domain enroll and enter the info there... WinMO isn't as intuitive as Android when it comes to this...

Android does not ask to enroll, I just enter my Username and Password, and it connects, but with windows mobile, I don't have a domain to enroll to, I just have a username and password.
Windows OS in order to get on a windows network provide a unique identifer to the network that is why you have to use domain enroll option

Check with the IT peeps at your school? They can probably give you the certificate you need to run on your phone to make it work. WinMO requires certificates to work on secure networks where as Android and Iphone do not. Just the way it is man.

[Q] Correct IP settings for Wireless Tether??

From everything I read, it seems that Wireless Tether only supports Ad Hoc mode with the Samsung Epic (DK28) using Froyo.
That said, what should my IP settings be, since DHCP isn't supported with Ad Hoc????
I am using the 192.168.2.0 network, so I assumed that my device should be 192.168.2.2 and the default GW should be 192.168.2.1. Is there a Sprint DNS server I should be using?

Sure it is. What device are you using where it isn't?

Lame, that's a limitation of ThinkVantage.
One option would be to just disable it and use the built-in Windows XP wireless configuration manager. There's instructions for disabling it, or you can just uninstall "ThinkVantage Access Connections" entirely.
If you want to do static IP though, here's the parameters of the default network:
Network 192.168.2.0
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Broadcast: 192.168.2.255
Gateway: 192.168.2.254
Nameserver: 192.168.2.254
The DHCP server hands out addresses in the range 192.168.2.100-105, so you should configure the client's static IP to use something outside this range (192.168.2.1-99, 106-253). For example, 192.168.2.1 works fine.
Note that with a static IP you won't get a client connection notification on the phone since that relies on DHCP. This also means the MAC ACL won't work, so leave that disabled.

WiFi Disconnection problems

Hi
I've always had this WiFi problem that after about 5 minutes of usage the internet connection disappears on my phone but the WiFi logo stays.
This forces me to disable and reenable WiFi on my phone.
Later I discovered that this only happens with WPA secured access points.
WEP and non secured access points work fine.
I tested my phone with 3 routers. Same results for all. On my first 2 routers it wasn't a problem because I just set up WEP security.
With my new router I cannot do this because it has wireless N which doesn't support WEP...
Also this happens will all ROMs, even the stock ROM.
After Google'ing this issue I found out that I am not the only one having this issue...
Does anyone know if there's a fix for this?
No one knows what the issue is?
Wifi works fine here using WPA2 and AES, my router is an ASUS RT-N16 running Tomato USB firmware.
Alright, so I decided to run logcat to capture the moment when the connection drops.
Here's the image of the log window:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
How I tested this:
1) Ran adb logcat in Windows.
2) Enabled WiFi connection.
3) Opened up YouTube, selected a 10 minute long video.
4) After about 4 minutes, the video froze, because it ran out of buffer.

use wifi fix from the market.almost had same problem in every custom rom.noproblem on stock.
Maybe you should try the WiFi libs from the FreeXperiaProject? Or a different ROM.

WiFI only local access, no internet.

Hello,
I recently re-arranged my home network and now I can't get my android devices (HD2 and Acer A511) connect to the internet via WiFi.
I didn't brought any new devices, I just configured them in another way.
Old configuration

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
New configuration
Problem
Every client can access the internet, regardless with which wifi network or cabled network he's connected to.
Except for android devices:
Wifi 1: android devices connect, get an IP form DHCP and can access the internet
Wifi 2: android devices connect, get an IP from DHCP and can't access the internet. They are only able to access the 192.168.2.X range.
I already googled for days and tested everything I could imagine but I just can't find the error.
Already tested
DHCP server: Works fine in every subnet
DNS server: Also works fine. Every device can solve / resolve domains
Checked IPs, MAC addresses
Other WiFi keys, security modes (including none)
Static IPs
Redirect every port to one device
Windows and Linux clients (fully working)
Has anyone here an idea why this is happening and most important: how to fix it?
PS: No I can't change the configuration back. I had to do it because of my room arrangement.
