While comparing two Evos with the exact same wallpaper, the wallpapers on Sense ROMs come out much clearer than wallpapers on Cyanogen.
My friend and I think it has to do with the Cooliris 3D gallery. He had both galleries installed on his Sense ROM and he was able to recreate the problem.
I'm surprised I haven't seen any threads up about this, can anyone confirm or help? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Maybe it has to do with ADW. Try loading launcher pro on there real quick and see if that helps. I don't notice it in ADW, not trying to rag on the program or anything, just offering ideas.
I haven't had cooliris do that beforeZ?

And I am currently using Lpro, but the launcher doesn't make a difference /:. I know it's Cooliris. I just need a better gallery app that properly renders wallpapers.
Here is one...search the thread for the rest of the story...

Try app on market called 'wallpaper set & save'.
This application sets wallpapers uncompressed so it shows every small detail.

Just wanted to say thanks, I downloaded Wallpaper Set & Save and while doing some research I found Wallswitch, which does a fantastic job of rendering high resolution pictures. Thank you

Here's an article on AndroidPolice with a 6 minute video demonstrating the new features.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...eleased-transitions-to-a-whole-new-dimension/
This one might finally get me to drop LauncherPro Plus!
Differences between ADW.Launcher and ADWLauncher EX
* 5 different app drawer styles/behaviors
o 3D Nexus One like application drawer
o 2 different plain vertical drawer styles, the "old one" and a new fast and smooth one
o 2 different iPhone-like horizontal application drawers, a traditional paginated one and a new one with continuous fling
* Different desktop transitions: new animations while navigating through your desktop screens. Try them all, they’re crazy!!!
* New Icons configurations/look and feel: Tweak your desktop icons, change its sizes, add coloured backgrounds, change font size, color, etc!
* New fast presets mode: Quickly change the whole desktop configuration by 1 click!
* Editable desktop icons for applications, shortcuts and folders!
* Lots of code improvements
* More, more more to come!!
Played around with it while some features are cool it still lags. Im going to stay with launcher pro.

That's the biggest reason I switched to LPP from adw. It wasn't a problem with the features, its just not as fast and smooth as LPP.
Sent from my cm6.1 Aria using XDA App
I didn't find any lag with this new version... but I'm still sticking with LauncherPro Plus because the widget resize feature works better and because the LPP widgets are so nice.
I didn't mind paying the $3.50 for ADW just to contribute to a developer who has put so much into his work and it's all been free until now. Plus, this way I'll get automatic ADW updates and maybe eventually it will add the features I want.
Has anyone figured out how to hide app labels in the drawer? I hope he doesn't leave out that feature in this version.

...looks really amazing. Would like to try this new UI too. But didn't find any information over it, what launcher this could be.
Hope someone can enlighten us very soon
I'm guessing it's a combination of stuff, and not actually made into a rom.
For example, https://market.android.com/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture&feature=search_result and https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.MyLockScreen_free
This 3d efffect he uses in his video you can get if you use "MultiPicture Live Wallpaper" as already posted in combination with e.g launcher pro.
in multipicture live wallpaper you have to use:
- transition type: 3D Rotation
in lauchner pro:
- preferences->homescreen settings->transition effect: Flip2
also ensure, that you have:
- preferences->Appearance settings->Disable wallpaper scrolling: unchecked
For users that want to use their device in landscape only this is a very nice combination..in portrait it looks very awful in my opinion
WOW

Haha that's 100% correct, you xda guys sure are on the ball!! ..except I used AWD EX launcher the task bar at the bottom/ swipe hiding was built into CM7, btw do you guys know how to get an "app organizer" that organizes in categories IN the actual app scrolling menu? That's the last bit of my 100% customization missing

I think the closest you'll get to actual app drawer organizing would be to sort the apps in groups on ADW launcher. It has the option to create and edit groups in the app drawer, and choose which one to view. I've never seen anything that allows you to put your apps into folders within the app drawer, which has never made sense to me since it would be so much more convenient. Thats the one thing that WM still has over Android imo.
wow, very nice that

ADW EX Launcher with Multi Picture Live Wallpaper.
Great vid, now I have this to add to my project list for the week. I need to go from android newb to pro with a rooted phone with updated kernel and a custom launcher set up.
Fabulous tutorial. When I get my note Ill try not to mess up what you instructed.
One question though. With the 3d UI can I use live/active wallpapers (the ones that move like the moving galaxy) instead of pictures?
Static

Hi, unfortunately it's only static wallpapers i'm afraid
Static screen problem
This question is for James, I presume, the maker of this tutorial. I've followed all your steps for the 3D UI, but, for some reason, the picture is staying static, there is no cube effect when I scroll screens, and yes, screen scrolling is enabled on AWD Ex. Help? =/
Did you enable the transition effects in Multi picture live wallpaper as well?
For me it works perfectly on Go Launcher Ex. I sat the transition there as well to outside cube.

So any time I try to set a "HD" image as a wallpaper, it blurs and zooms in way too much. I've noticed this is a common issue with honeycomb tablets and have tried the "tricks" to get around it, but no luck. I know you can set wallpapers to look correct as I've seen the screenshots. Any tips on getting this done as the stock wallpapers just don't cut it?

Been trying 1920x1408 as I've read that was the optimal resolution with the way honeycomb crops wallpaper images. Some look halfway decent, most just look awful. And honestly not sure image dimensions. Just been googling HD images

Search "Multipicture live wallpaper" in your market app.
It will set your images up correctly no matter what resolution they are (provided they aren't super low-res). It's a free app.
Once installed, it comes up as a choice in your regular wallpaper settings.
Sorry, I can't post links up, or I would link directly to the app.
Also, if you have a little photoshop beginning skills, you can make a template where you can overlay your image as a layer, and see exactly where things need to be moved.
When you set wallpaper from Gallery, they use a sizable template, so it will give you a good idea of what the parameters are.

Yeah, I think I'll try and make a template when I get some free time.
There was a guy who had one a long time ago, in the themes section, but the link to download was broken (he had it on megaupload), and I looked and seems he deleted the thread a week or so ago. Link didn't work, but it had an image of how the template looked (similar when you choose wallpaper from gallery)
I can tell you some things.
1. keep it as a psp so you can keep the layers
2. Remember, it will have several layers. Overall size, portrait, and landscape.
3. Use a different color and transparency for each layer.
4. Also, don't forget the top, bottom, and side borders.
5. Use your image as a new layer, and move it to the back of the template, do you can see what parts are going to be shown in both portrait and landscape. Then you can resize and move around the layer as needed.
