htc hd2 bloops twice and turn on URGENT!! - HD2 General

Last night I flashed radio Leo_radio_2.11.50.26_2.rar (which came from the safe radio rom thread) to my htc hd2 and since my phone wont light back up. It bloops twice in rapid succession when I plug it into the pc. The phone has no lights no sound no nothing. Ive tried hitting the reset and holding down on vlume, tried holding both volumes and power etc. I can not get a boot loader menu, just tried flash a rom straight to it and it says there is no connection to the phone. I got the Radio rom from this forum I get error connection 260 when trying to flash anything which means no connection to the phone.
I think this radio rom bricked the phone however thats a safe radio number to use on a US phone I dont get it. Reason I was trying different Radios is because no matter what I did the phone with a tmobile sim in it always had a ! for signal with a tmob sim in it. Worked fine with an att sim.
Anything you could suggest to help unbrick this would be very helpful...

windows also sees it as a qualcomm cdmw technologies mvm other device now and wont load drivers for it. If this helps so my pc isnt even picking it up anymore. I think Im boned.

ugh.....anyone?

ok am not to good with this but just want to know when your charging your phone up do you see a blinking green and red lite,

no lights now it just sits.

Can you boot it up in to Bootloader Mode (the tri-coloured screen)?

Did anything fail when flashing?

no actually went through just fine but never came back on once it finished flashing.

that's weird. It should have been safe. Can you warranty claim it? you might have to go through htc, but it should be under warranty for 1 year.

Still bricked. You say it's a .50 radio, not sure why it bricked then.

yea i agree....it was a .5 radio...i am going to have to warranty claim it,,however with htc you never know what your in for.....

That is weird. I tried that same radio a long time ago (before I switched to 2.12.50.xx). But, vapor, you're not the first. Another user, m0bmentality (I don't remember if this is his exact s/n), bricked his T-Mobile USA HD2 by flashing the radio I'm using. So this is really weird since these radios are considered "safe" for the T-Mobile USA HD2.
The only problem you'll have with warranty is if HTC manages to revive the phone and find out you HSPL'd it. But that's unlikely; they'd rather just give you another HD2.

Can't get HTC HD2 working again!

Hi
Ok so my phone was working fine on a custom ROM when suddenly yesterday an exclamation appeared next to the phone signal and stopped from receiving/making calls and texts. I thought it had just crashed but after soft and hard resets and changing to a few others sims I just can't get my phone signal back.
Really strange as everything was working fine. I now have trouble flashing custom ROMs and am struggling to run a stock ROM because I'm on a mac.
It's driving me crazy as my phone is now useless.
Any ideas guys?
thanks
Quick update
I've managed to get the Leo Lite ROM running and everything is good except that damn exclamation mark next to the phone to phone, which means I can't get the phone working.
Anyone know know why this is???
Have you tried the sim in a different phone?
could just be a simple issue
And I know it a simple thing............but have you got flight mode on?

Thanks for the reply John.
Yeah currently having to use the sim in an ancient motorola and it works fine, tested with calls and texts. Also tried turning on and off flight mode but still that bloody exclamation mark stays.
That sounds like its been blocked. Theres a network there it just isn't letting it connect. Did you buy it second hand? or off ebay?

Hey Sam
Do you know what, I did buy it second hand, from a reputable store in town.
However this raises more questions than answers;
1. Why would it be blocked after several weeks of normal use.
2. Doesn't some sort of message need to be displayed stating the handset has been blocked.
Does anyone know if this is what happens when a HTC HD2 is blocked? i.e. the exclamation being shown all the time.
I presume a handset is blocked for security measures like theft. I will take it back to the shop tomorrow, they will have all the details of the person who sold it to them.
However is there no way this can happen from flashing custom ROMs? Even though that doesn't really make sense cause I had a ROM that was working fine and this happened when I was out and about.
It could be a bad rom, but it certainly wouldn't be in every rom.
I think id try going back to the stock rom, radio and spl (i.e an sd card flash, do you now if it has a provider locked rom?) and see if it is still there. If it still won't work, then it's definately either hardware or network.
The reason it could have taken weeks is, , seller trades in phone for cash, waits a little while, thinks 'i know'..., reports the phone lost/stolen to claim on insurance, insurance won't pay out without the imei being blocked.

Well I've tried flashing at least 6 custom ROMs, all show the exclamation mark.
The phone was sold to me as being unlocked to all networks, however I never tried with anything other than a o2 sim.
Now going back to the original ROM has its own problems. First off i'm quite new at this so sorry for sounding silly. How on earth do i go about finding out what the original stock rom, radio and spl is?
When I have these I can't easily go back as I don't have a pc, using a mac. I would have to use the sd card way but I can't find an official signed .nbh file.
I have a brand new T-Mo US HD2 with similar issue (out of the box). It's like the radio will not initialize. Did hard resets, tried to force it finding a carrier, etc, and it just will not turn on the radio.
I did find out that there is a likely issue with my SIM slot. If I attempt to remove my SIM card (which works fine in other phones) it is almost unremoveable and feels jammed in. However, once removed, I get connectivity via wifi and touch response is great.
If I insert a SIM card, it takes a LOT of pressure to reinsert it (yes, inserting it in the correct orientation), and the phone cannot connect turn on the phone's radio. Also, I get random phone.exe and credential.exe error message (plus the phone becomes very slow.
Don't know if you have any of these other symptoms, but the lack of connectivity sounds similar.
Supposed to get a replacement HD2 today, and we'll see.
I had the same problem too. I got unlocked code from tmoile and everything working fine for a month. It was working great after upgrade the latest rom 3.14 from tmobile download site (i got the message from them to upgrade), until i went out off country last month then the phone could not turn the phone's radio on. It kept at airplane mode. I been try to flash back and forth all the tmobile .50 stock rom and still having the problem.
Does any one know the issue to fix it? TIA
Looks like a hardware fault. You need to open case and check bottom two brass hinges are in working order and correctly hinged to make contact with antenna which is on the rear case at the bottom.
Follow the guide of opening s HD2 on YouTube there is a factory guide to dismantling the HD2.

Thanks for reply xlr8me. I just check the two brass hinges at the right side of usb connector. It looks fine to me. The other thing i didn't mention on the above post I was flash the dft_leo_nand android after tried all the stock rom from tmobile and the android said "no sim card", i also checked and cleaned the sim slot. Do you think any thing else to cause that problem?
One more thing without the sim or sd card the about phone show up all info of phone: imei, serial..... But with sim card in it just blank when i read the about phone hardware info. Thanks again
Did you try simcard from another carrier?

Yes I did tried the sim from the carrier of the asia country i was traveling to last month, that why i call tmobile to get the unlock code before i go. When i was there and inserted their carrier's sim and it won't work, even when i get back to U.S. I been tried either tmobile or at&t sim too. The phone radio won't turn on. The rest is working ok except those above error messages "A problem has occurred with device.exe" and "Credential.exe".
Do you think i can reflash with WWE rom .50 radio instead of tmobile's official rom?
Thanks
htcphonelover,
You will have to reset the phone back to default rom from htc website. You may also need to reformat sd card but the radio should still work regardless of whether the sd card is in or out.
My only concluding thoughts are that if the above fails to work then try a different sim card and still no good then probably something with the motherboard on HD2.
Good luck and update us with any new info..

HD2 wont turn on

Hey everyone, my hd2 died (original 1.48 rom), I already tried soft reset, hard reset, put out my battery, charge it and everyhting that came to my mind but when i turn it on it wont go further than the first htc image.
Is there anything i cant do or should i just take it back to the shop?
Thanks
I would take it back, even if you do fix it. You don't want a phone that may still have a underlying problem.

for those stuck on the htc boot image
take off the back cover of the phone and press the little red button, this will restart the phone
AS SOON AS you press it, press and hold the volume down button this will bring you to the bootloader
connect the phone via usb to your computer and flash a different radio rom (look first which are compatible with your rom)
if this doesnt work, using the same method flash back to your original rom.

still haven't seen anyone recover from this. if anyone has please let me know.

Sorry to hear about people's problems. Just remember if you have TMobile
USA there is NOT a way to flash another rom onto the phone..Just give it time the wonderful folks here are working on it. If your still in your 14 day grace period just return the phone to the store and play dumb. You might
have to wait for another phone since apparently they did not anticipate
how many people wanted this phone and sold out quickly. I know I was there
at 6:30 and the second in line and they only had 5!
Anyway, the most important thing you can do here is DO a search!

It only goes wrong if you
1 - flash a rom based on anything less than 2.10 rom

I do not see a little red button under the back cover. I am in the US, just bought phone, slightly used of course, no warranty. It suddenly went dead this afternoon while charging, will sometimes try to power up but will just keep flashing that one screen "stick together" over and over.....

Mine is doing the same thing . . . in the US, the reset button is right next to the SD card slot, and it's yellow. Mine wouldn't come on Friday, and I started a web chat with Tmobile to see if they would exchange it, and then it just came back on. They said as long as the white sticker at the top of the battery compartment is still white (proving you didn't get it wet), then they will exchange it. It worked fine for me the rest of the weekend (AFTER I did a hard reset, and got it running great!!). This morning, I locked it while running MobiTV, then I couldn't unlock it, so I pulled the battery. That was 2 hours ago, and it still won't come on . . .
If it doesn't come on before I leave work, I'm taking it to Tmobile tonight!!
UPDATED 20 minutes later: Just came on . . . no rhyme or reason why?? Just started after MULTIPLE times of taking out and putting back battery, SIM, and SD card. Got the same error that I've been getting the last couple months on reboots (services.exe)?? When I did a CleanRAM, it free'd up 3.36MB . . . so SOMETHING was hung up, but nothing was running in the task manager??
Generally, few task managers show what's really going on with the phone's memory. Use an advanced task manager which will allow you to control the actual processes running on your device, Google for the names of those which seem to cause mischief and terminate them (if possible) or try to find a solution.

Hey I am also Tmobile User and I have flashed a few ROMS luckily I have not Bricked my phone (knock on wood.) I was just wondering how your return went? I have insurance on mine and figured I would just take it back if that happened. I just didn't know if that would work? Did you ever get a new one
Another update . . . used my phone all afternoon, and tried to charge it, and it wouldn't charge??? Luckily, my husband has the same phone, so I checked his with the same charger. Compared the two phones, and the prongs that hit the battery were bent back. I folded them back down, and now it can charge again. Makes me wonder if that is the problem with the phone not coming back on? Maybe putting the battery back in so that it wasn't hitting the prongs has been keeping it from turning back on . . .

[HELP REQUESTED]Accidentally flashed incorrect ROM, phone will not turn on.

Hey guys. I just bought my HD2 today and I have flashed HTC phones before.
This is a TMOBILE 1024LEO phone so I connected it to ActiveSync and installed HSPL 1024. After installing it I loaded the CustomRUU and installed "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.0 7U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe". This installed 100% and my phone powered off after it was complete. Since then I have not been able to get the phone to respond. I believe I bricked it? But I don't see why I can't even get the bootloader to load when powered off. I've tried holding the volume down button and pressing the power button. Holding the volume down button and pressing the soft reset button. Holding both volume buttons and pressing the power button. None of these get it to respond. Any ideas?

its dead.
flashing a 1.66 rom alone would have been recoverable, but that rom you chose also includes a radio, because it is an official rom, and that radio is 2.06.51.07, , and what happens when you flash a radio with .51. in it?
Correct, brick.
So far no one has been able to fix it, some have taken it back and gotten a replacement.
Sorry to be the harbinger of doom.
(One of the very few actual known ways to really brick the hd2, in spite of the fact that half the daily new threads say 'OMG brick!')
Throw it in the bin?
From the TMOUS HD2 flashing thread...
Not all ROMs are compatible with 1024LEO, including old official ROMS.
Official 1.42 and 1.66 WON'T WORK on LEO1024, because there is no 1024 NAND memory support.
All custom ROMs which ARE NOT BASED ON 2.08+ T-Mobile ROMs WON'T WORK ON 1024LEO.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT flash any Rom unless it states in the 1st post that its compatable with the 1024LEO or the chef confirms its safe to flash on a 1024LEO. If you flash a Rom with a Base version before 2.08 then you will most likely brick your phone. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!
IF YOU ARENT ABSOLUTELY SURE THEN DONT FLASH IT!!
[...]
IMPORTANT: Do not flash ANY Radio before 2.07.x or the 2.09.51.03 Radio or you could damage your phone!!
IMPORTANT: Make sure the Radio you flash is FULLY compatable with the US HD2 before flashing.
IF YOU ARENT ABSOLUTELY SURE THEN DONT FLASH IT!!

so there is nothing that I can do to get the phone in bootloader mode even when powered off? I don't understand why that isn't possible.
and btw when I connect the phone to a computer via USB, it tries to install software for "QUALCOMM CDMA TECHNOLOGIES MSM". idk if that helps

all it helps it to confirm that you have the 'it no longer goes to bootloader or power on and shows up as qualcomm (if it shows up at all, some dont) on the PC' problem.

Nope, it's completely bricked. No ones figured out a way to recover from flashing the wrong radio on the tmous hd2. You're not the first to do it and try to find a fix.

maybe they won't believe you, but they have no way to prove you're lying, so... even if this kind of attitude will eventually make producers release way stricter warranty policies so in the end maybe everyone will pay for the lightheartedness of the few
or maybe they'll look at their returns pile, figure out how to boot them, leak the process and we can fix it ourselves!
Well if you do brick the phone, their has to be a way to reverse. I'm pretty sure people at HTC know how to do it. I doubt they jus throw these phones away they refurbish it, so there has to be a way to put the stock rom back.
HTC has the bootloader code so they probably have a way to flash it back.
My HD2 turned a few heads at work and a dedicated iPhone owning gadget fan just had to have one. It failed within a day and he returned it for a refund. He was given a new one, and here's my point, had to sign a document agreeing to pay nearly £800 (yes, £800 - that's what the shop charges for a PAYG HD2) if it was later found that the failure was due to abuse, including the use of illegal software. When I read that I was certain they were referring to cooked ROMs. I guess HTC (and the repair shop, perhaps) can tell what's on a phone, even if there isn't a fix and they have to change a board or even throw away the phone. There's a company that can recover iPAQs that have suffered a similar fate. They were doing this before iPAQ 21x cooking became popular. I wonder if such s service exists for HTC devices, or whether such a recovery service is possible with the right tools.
Personally, I'd love to try some of the ROMs on this site but I'm sticking to simple customizations. I'm in no way a WM novice. I just can't justify risking an expensive device. I even avoid official updates if I'm not having problems. Ironically, I've had 4 iPAQs die on me without messing sigh the ROM. I'd be tempting fate.
Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do. I hope you get to enjoy an HD2.

As long as your PC is attempting to load the Qualcom CDMA driver...
I have a 1024 Tmo HD2 and I always stick to NRGroms from my TP to TP2 and now HD2 (cyanogen is by far the besy for my Nexus or most other android phones). I decided to flash the Artemis Rom and Bricked my device. It worked at first but once the battery died it would start up. So i figured the usb driver must be incompatable because it wouldnt charge. I was able to get Tmo to replace my HD2 device but didnt want to have to pay the $100 charge they charge if they find the device has been tampered with (not only physically, but software too. SSPL, HSPL, custom ROMs, etc.). Been charged before so they do check.
My point is once they sent me the replacement device, I used the new HD2 to charge my battery to see if it was the usb port not charging. Once the new phone charged the battery and I plugged the HD2 into my PC i received the same message saying attempting to install that Qualcomm CDMA message and the driver would not install. I ended up figuring out the issue but it will take having another HD2. Call Tmo and have one sent to you through warranty not insurance and it will be free. I even complained about not having a top quality phone i paid for to use my service and they upgraded to free expedited shipping. So Dial 611 now. Then just get those drivers using the new 1024.
First make sure to turn on the replacement device and open Mobile device center and plug in the device to get the standard driver. Once you get the standard driver, unplug the new HD2 and plug in your bricked device trying to get the same Qual CDMA driver. Now the driver install should complete. Now since you have an incorrect driver id recommend flashing to the Stocl 1024 ROM cause this will update your device to the correct driver and ROM so you wont be charge when you send back your old bricked device.
Now once you reflash your new HD2 just stick to these 2 simple steps.
1. HSPL with the 1024 version (HSPL2_1024_RUN)
2. Only use NRGroms for your Tmo LEO (http://bit.ly/HD2-NRGroms)
If this does not work just send back the HD2 that is bricked and you get a replacement for only $100 charge. Better than having the most awesome paperweight. Also make sure to use the same usb port used to install the primary driver. And dont be afraid to try running the new HSPL on your bricked phone cause that is what actually allowed my bricked phone to comunicate with my PC, then my bootloader driveer installed. I know this is alot of jabber but just ask if you have any questions. My boys brying now so gotta go...

Any ideas?

HI GUYS.
i flash my hd2 using the correct software. on my phone it said it had 2.8 soemthing and the program that flash my hd2 flashed it to 2.8
after that i did the custom rom and it completed sucessfully but at the end the phone went off and a message came something about the qwalcomm driver being missing. since yesterday my phone would not power on or even show any signs of being charge. at the time of the flasing and everything i had a 100 percent battery. what can i do. i try to reset it and by accident i did not know which was the reset on the back and accidentally pushed a whole where it says void. im afraid to take it to the store and they would see that whole where it says void has been touched. any suggesions of what to do. thank you

HELP! I bricked my friends phone!!

okay so i flashed my unbranded HD2 phone many times over with chuckydroid rom and used shubCrafts build on my phone.
now my friend wanted android on his Tmobile HD2 phone also so i flashed his with chuckydroid rom and then with mattC's android with sense. turns out he de didnt like it and wanted to switch back to the stock rom.
now i acidentally flashed an unbranded HD2 stock rom back onto his Tmobile HD2 instead of the stock Tmobile rom and now its bricked. (wasnt thinking because ive done it this way with my phone all the time not even thinking that his was a different model)
light doesnt turn on when charged. cant even get into bootloader. phone doesnt work. i DID FLASH HSPL3 before it got bricked so iono if that helps any if any at all...
i feel really bad right now. can someone please help?
im sorry to say i think the phone is bricked for good...that's if the international ROM you flashed included a radio....it most probably was a .51 radio that is not compatible with t-mobile us hd2....

I don't have a suggestion to unbrick the phone, but I do for a reasonable price on a replacement. I bought my T-Mo branded HD2 a few months ago for $225 off Craigslist. I just checked locally (Portland) and there's three listed today at or under $250.....and sorry for your friends loss.

i cant flash another rom because his device wont even turn on. its dead as a rock. can i return this for warranty? i flashed HSPL3 before flashing it back to the original (but wrong) rom.
is the HSPL3 still in the device meaning i cant return it? or like first poster said, the new radio is now on the device? meaning im still able to return it?
Well if it won't turn on then they won't be able to see its unlocked.. as for a solution did u try manual bootload (volume up + down and press power and keep holding volume up and down) that should get u into bootload if it doesn't then its a different issue.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

You could try to flash the official tmou rom via SDCard. Just use a card reader, place the rom at the root of the card, put the card back in phone, hold volume key down + power and you *might* be able to get back to bootloader.
The issue here is that if you flashed official (non tmou) rom from the sdcard when you bricked it, it might have removed the HSPL. From what I can recall, official roms flashed from sdcard will wipe hspl.
It's worth giving it a shot. In any case, I just received an EDM from microsoft through my hotmail acct where they are doing a buy 1 get 1 free for the HD2. Might want to check it out. I'm tempted to take them up on it and have 3 HD2's.

you said it doesnt even charge... check the battery if is properly installed that happened to me once and got scared. just double check.
INSURANCE
If he has insurance on the phone just call tmobile say that the hd2 wont turn on anymore! You have no clue how it happened ! They will send a replacement! Then he has to send his phone back within a week of receiving the new one! It does have a one year warrenty but if u have to send the phone in to htc they will probably know u bricked it and void the warranty! Tmobile is really cool about warranty's so try to get one from them even if its refurbished and then leave it stock!!
The ROM probably had a .51 radio like the last post said.
When you flash a .51 on a TMOUS HD2 you lose. Game over.
well my phone was stuck ina bootloop kinda thing... if i conected it to a charger it wud turn on and keep restarting on me, if i removed batery while still plugged in it wudnt respond nor charge... i fixed it by leaving it like that for a few minites then i un pluged and held down volume roker as i pluged in to acces bootloader and flashed a diff rom
hmm this sucks try what the others said with the volume keys and report back. This makes me think it would be cool if the developers created a pandora battery like service battery and memory stick for the hd2 as how people brought back bricked psps to life with those methods, would be so awesome then we wouldn't have to really worry about stupid crap like this !
yes. im dumb. it was a .51 radio. doesnt turn on. i did it to my own phone so many times and it just became repetitive when i was flashing his phone that i didnt even stop to think that it was a TMobile model. and yes the power button + volume button is not working since MY PHONE (originally his phone since i have to give him my phone now) doesnt have power.
so my best bet right now is to return it to tmobile and not HTC correct?
The only way to unbrick your phone is whit a jtag interface , ( http://www.omnia-repair.com/forum/topic/htc-hd2-repair-guide , http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f47...z-jtag-pinouts-htc-topaz-repair-file-1047977/ ) but maybe this kind of tools are illegal in some countries.
Check Copper battery contacts
Hey mate, I had the same issue you did. I took the battery out often during my flashing and once it stopped responding ie. not charging not turning on etc.
I checked where the battery sat and found one of the copper contacts (I think there are 3 spring-like ones) was stuck inwards and therefor not offering or receiving power.
Give that a shot buddy. good luck
Sucks, but at least you swapped phones with him. If the phones under warranty give T-Mobile a call, tell them it wont turn on...but you might want to have your buddy handle it (he is the original owner I hope?) since the phone should be on his account.

Quick side note, I don't necessarily agree that you owe this guy a phone. If you flashed it as a favor, then I think that all risks associated with the flash were his just as if he flashed it himself. There is an implied risk even when flashing the correct ROM/Radio etc, and if he didn't want to take the time to learn how to do it himself, you shouldn't be held 100% liable. If he is a good friend, then it would be a nice gesture to go in with him on a craigslist replacement (I too got mine for $225).
Now if he paid you for the service, then yeah, you owe him a phone.

I did the same thing, phone went into a boot loop, and I thought Id bricked it, copper contact was slightly bent and causing it, make sure the copper contacts are pointing straight up in the battery compartment, it could save ya a warranty return

I completely agree, unless he's a n00b and you didn't explain that there were any potential dangers.
Just as another side note, if I'm doing anything for a friend that involves firmware flashing of any kind whatsoever, just say.
"Look I'm happy to do this, however there is always a risk involved in that your phone might die! It's rare, but are you happy for me to proceed?"
Always gets me out of potentially tricky situations! Stick those caveats in before it's too late
In my opinion you owe him a phone unless you told him about the risk and asked if he was willing to try it.. I would still feel sick to my stomach over him buying a new phone himself.. Another point is that the "risk" didn't damage the phone, your obliviousness did..
It sucks, but I would try to get him a used phone and pay the cost.. and accepted it if he offered to pay parts of it

Bricked or what?

Hi again guys. I dont know if i ralle can use the term bricked or not, but i guess so. After a funny day with a couple reboot and new "radio" image my Legend want start anymore. The screen is just black, even if i hold down vol down/up and power. So the big question.... Is this phone bricked? If so, can i fix it?
EDIT: The LED does not even respond when charger is plugged in.
Sorry for the lack of English.
if it is bricked - try this.
I dont even get to fastboot The phone is completely dead/black
Are you S-OFF? I've never known a S-ON Legend be completely bricked like that!
No i'm still S-ON because of the d*** HBOOT 1.01
Only thing i've done so far is root+CM7. And yesterday when i played around with ROM Manager i had to remove the battery upon a crash.
Apparently same problem as here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1096083
This is really weird...

I think you are in trouble...
RomManager is maybe the source of your problems, what did you do with ?
Did you have errors during the radio installation process ? and which radio were you flashing ?
Here the story. I rooted my phone and switch to CM7 and notice that my GPS did not work with stock radio verision (dont remember wich) I upgraded to 7.08.35.21 and the GPS finally workt again with some minor interrups. Did some reading and decided to upgrade again to 7.13.35.05.
The installation went well untill the end. A picture was shown, a mailbox lookalike with an arrow pointing at a foolish looking droid dude. The only thing i could do was to remove the battery, after that the phone was dead.

me too it sucks
Is it still under warranty? (Obviously not as you're rooted, but would it be if you weren't rooted?) If so, try sending it to HTC they might just replace it if they can't see for themselves that you're rooted!
If you says its a firmware update that caused the phone to not turn on they just JTAG it without checking, reflash the latest update (and sadly HBOOT) and send it back

They will send it back unfixed and say the warranty is void. Even if they know its rooted they might still fix it for you, it depends.
It's my fault that the phone is broken and i'm willing to take that blame A clean conscience makes me sleep better at night
I dont know how it is in the rest of the world, but in my country there is a high fee if they notice that the owner has done something with the firmware etc. Thanks anyway for all the respons and help, and remember guys, stay away from Rom manager
You only have to say that it said update available then when it restarted it did this.. If they say anythign after its been sent then just plead ignorance. Its not like they cant afford to repair one phone

well i'm going to say something like that. Generally because my phone was buggered before then (signal problems and locking into airplane mode) though i'm rooted i still wouldn;t think i'd get away with it
does it matter if the root is S-ON i'm just thinking off my chances
PM sent, I can fix hard bricked Legends with JTAG.
