Ok so I've searched up and down and can find nothing so far. Here's amy Phone specs
Phone: Rooted G1
SPL: Danger SPL
Radio: 6250S.20.17U_2.22.19.26I
ROM: CyanomenMod 4.2.14.1
Ok now whenever i flash any rom on my phone whether it is super D, htcclay or cyanogen I get no service and just an x next to where my signal bars are. When I go into settings it under the baseband version it just shows unknown. The only way I can get things back is if I restore from nandroid backup of version 4.2.14.1 i had. Even if I try flashing version 4.2.14.1 fresh it does the same thing, no signal/service. Whenever flashing roms I always wipe multiple times before and that does not work. I try flashing the radio beforehand then flashing the rom that also does not work. I've followed numerous instructions to the letter in the development section for flashing roms but none seem to work. The roms ALL install perfectly but I just get NO SIGNAL after the install. Can anyone assist and tell me why this is please.
Also if I try to flash the new G1 radio 2_22_23_02 it doesn't flash at all. It will install when in the recovery mode and when I hit home+back to reboot it shows the htc logo for a quick second then disappears. When it restarts in recovery mode and I boot the phone up again it still has my original radio. Any assistance is appreciated. I've searched and can find nothing on my particular issue.
I'm having the same problem, except I got there a different way. I was rooted on JF 1.51 and decided to unroot. I flashed the original G1 bootloader and then loaded DREAIMG.img. I waited for the OTA update, and when it did, that's when I had the problem. I've tried manually updating to RC30, RC33, which work just fine, but as soon as I install anything higher than that, the problem starts. I do not know if the unknown baseband version symptom existed with any of these other attempts. Also, a force-close message for com.android.phone repeats endlessly. I tried to check the APN, but when I try to click on Settings -> Wireless -> Mobile networks, it won't open.
Phone: G1
Firmware: 1.6
Baseband version: UNKNOWN
Kernel version: 2.6.29-00479-g3c7df37; [email protected]#19
Build number: DMD64
One last thing: As I was trying things earlier, I started getting a "No SIM card" error so I went to T-Mobile today and got a new one. I don't know if these two things are related or not, but thought I would mention it.
have you try do update Radio??
Do you mean in addition to the OTA update? No. I loaded the DREAIMG file, and then updated with
1. signed-RC30-from-RC29-fat.1582cace.zip
2. signed-PLAT-RC33-from-RC30.zip
When the OTA comes, that's when the problem happens, but I have not tried to update anything after the OTA installs.
I thought that the issue might result from updating too much at one time (e.g., RC29 or RC33 all the way to Donut), but when I then try to update to Cupcake with signed-kila-ota-148830.de6a94ca.zip, then the phone gets stuck in an endless loop on the Android screen. No matter what I do, I can't upgrade above RC33.
I just had the same thing happen although my methods were different.
Basically there is no baseband which means (I think) there isn't
going to be any network activity.
My problem is much worse I'm afraid.
I swapped the Phone.apk from my system/app location,
grabbed another Phone.apk (assuming it was the dialer) because
I liked the theme...so I swapped, rebooted and bam, FC's every second
and then zero network activity.
So I had to use wifi, downloaded rom manager again, and root explorer
and had to reflash the base band...It is flashing right now, and I'm just waiting.
Clockword recovery was borked so I used Sprecovery.

Phone.apk is the dialer, I swap mine out all the time. However, you have to make sure that it's compatible with your rom (i.e. similar framework, same build as yours, so if you have donut, only donut phone.apk will work)
Are you sure that you grabbed it from an actual rom and not from MM theme which has only drawables?

Hey man.
Yup, I'm sure, however when I did the search I didn't think it would
link me to a different forum since I'm running a Moto Droid 1
with BB v0.4 The dialer for that ROM is in contacts.
Anyway my phone technically died.
Was resurrected and now I'm running Liquid's Tangerine Frozen Yogurt 1.4
(which is the fastest/snappiest and most responsive ROM I've ever tried!)
It's also the 2nd ROM I've tried but still.
I recently updated my Galaxy S4 (i9500) to Android 4.3 [MJ5] using Kies. The phone is completly stock and non-rooted. After the update, I'm unable to pull down notification bar. However, after I restart the device, it works well for some time and then again refuses to be pulled down.
Has anyone else experienced the same problem? I have lot of data on the device that will be difficult to restore and hence and donot want to format the phone. Any suggestions/solutions that might resolve the problem?
Also, after the 4.3 update, when I check for OTA, a popup shows saying "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available." Pulling out and reinserting SD card didn't solve the issue.
Same problem. .. No solution yet.

I am going mentally insane trying to figure this out. I have refreshed and wiped my phone 5 times for the same issue, but to nothing good. The notification bar simply wouldn't want to respond.
What's getting to my nerves is that in one of my experiments with solving this issue, I kept my phone as stock with no third party apps, and still faced the issue. I kept knox uninstalled thinking that's what is causing the issue, but that's didn't help. I did lots of these kind of attempts, but to no avail. I'm concluding that is a serious Bug that Samsung is not going to address to soon. And we're simply screwed until.
Same problem.. DEAL BREAKER
I am facing the same problem after update to 4.3 Andrew this is a deal breaker if Samsung does not fix immediately. Thinking of rooting Andrew moving to cyanogen mod beta.. This is crazy. Nobody tested this for sure.
4.3 official update notification panel drop down problem
I have same problem with this update.can anybody solve this problem ?

Is your device status showing as "CUSTOM" or "ORIGINAL"?
figured out temporary solution
After a lot of playing around, I seem to know what's causing the problem. It's the Phone (Dialer) application that is creating an issue.
when the problem arises again, try making a call, and while the call is being placed, pull down the notification bar....It begins working.
obv I Ousby this is no permanent solution, but will help you from needing to restart.
If anyone with deeper knowledge can PLEASE look at what from the inside is causing it, and how can we make a permanent fix, much appreciated.
let me know if it works for you, the temp fix.

Mine says official, for you, I'd suggesting finding the correct 4.3 version with the correct region for your i9500 / i9505, and redo the firmware. Download the firmware off Sammobile, and use Odin 1.85 whilst your phone is in download mode. If you don't know any of these terms used, Google it. It'll be helpful.
Basically, the notification bar problem and device modified problem are separate issues.
Did u install the indian firmware or the unknown one?
yes boys same issue here after 4.3 installed
also my notification bar when its stacked works when you try it on a call but its a temporary solution. mine is official also. anybody find a permanent solution? should we again root 4.3 on 4.3? I think it must be that the 4.3 was installed over 4.2.2 maybe if we make hard reset it will be fixed?
It's the Indian firmware, that I downloaded using Kies but still it started showing as "custom".
I took the phone to samsung care, they said Official 4.3 isn't released for s4 in India yet. Lolz. However, then one of there geeky employees reinstalled the 4.3 update and now my both issues have been fixed. Notification bar is now working perfectly fine and Device status is now Official.
official 4.3 also problem task bar
mine is official because in germany 4.3 is released on samsungs update and my phone is from germany. sould I take it to samsung service and they reinstalling again 4.3 is finally fixed?
xxuemj8
I got an ota update xxuemj8 just now that seemingly has solved the problem. My test so far hasn't given complaints, but.let's see what's the situation in long term.
Indian version i9500 currently updated from xxuemj5 to xxuemj8
Should solve all your problems too if you refresh your phone with Odin. Meaning reinstall from fresh by downloading from sammobile and.installing.through Odin
UPDATE XXUEMJ8 doesnt help
Update: XXUEMJ8 doesnt solve any problem. The bug still exists, notification bar stops working.
Also, another issue is that under Settings > Battery, even if Wi-Fi is switched off, the wifi blue bar shows full all the time as if it were ON.
This confuses me to if this is only a software bug in displaying the battery status of settings where wifi is truly off, and it thinks it is on.
OR
Wifi remains on throughout, and switching it off in the software doesnt actually switch it off, eventually taking more battery.

Android 4.3 Update
I DEFINITELY AGREE with the earlier post by Kish0007. The bug is related to the PHONE (Dialer) App. The problem always occurs after receiving a phone call.
I changed from German Android 4.3 to Unknown Android 4.3 as posted on Sammobile hoping for the problem to disappear. But it did not !
Mich
The possible solution is to format your phone after installing 4.3 upgrade.
Goto Hard reset by pressing your Volume Key+Power key+Home Key......
Then goto Wipe data/Factory reset.........Don't worry your android Upgrade will not be reset, it will be as it is (4.3)....just it will format your data
and cache.
Do not forget to take backup of apps and your other data......!!
It worked for me & hope it will work for you as well........!!
I try format several times but problem still exist
update the firmware before format.
After upgrading your OS , please update the firmware from PDA:MJ5 to PDA:MJ8 also,
then try formatting.
Same problem after updating on my Samsung S4
Same problem after updating on my Samsung S4.
I have the Middle east version UAE. MJ5 build number currently.
i noticed the dialor was started this issue.
i hope there is a solution for this soon.
still issue after hard reset

I made hard reset on my phone and tha issue still exists. from samsung service they told me its possible the viber on 4.3 that makes the problem so I unistall it I made hard reset but I still have stacked tool bar sometimes after receiving or making calls but no so often.
notification bar problem
I updated my s4 i9500 to 4.3 indian ver. INU mj5 via kies and recently MJ8.. and same problem happening to me... notification bar would not pull down on call ends... calling again fixes the problem but thats kind of annoying every time for fix..... even transition animation scale resets on opening camera app.... then I thought to give a clean install via odin on same firmware from sammobile... ie. INU MJ8 21 oct build.... but this even did not solve the above problems. .. I also uninstalled viber thinking it might be the cause.... factory reset... cache wipe ... everything but to no avail.... any permanent fix would be appreciated. ...
Phone Settings
Guys,
Do you have the phone setting answer call using the power button selected ? Please, let me know. My notification bar never crashed today after I un-selected this option.
Thanks,
Mich
Back in December while i was still on 6.0.1 but on the latest monthly update at the time, I have known for awhile that there was a high android system battery drain after the february 2016 monthly update so I wanted to downgrade back to February. But when I was in the process of downgrading, I got an error on odin and it failed. After I restarted my phone I got a message saying "an error has occurred while updating the device software. Use emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc software" so at that time i was freaking out a bit and I went searching around and people said around may of 2016 samsung updated the bootloader so you couldn't downgrade to an earlier month that had the older bootloader.
I just want to know if samsung has updated their bootloader since 7.0 being on the latest bootloader. I'm currently on August security patch and want to go back to March.
I was using, if I'm not mistaken, the Android 7.0 July patch and I wanted to do an experiment. So, I downloaded version 6.0.1 and flashed using Odin.
Everything went through smoothly!
Just a curiosity, why do you want to go back to March? There are no benefits rolling back to an older patch, unless you want to test something.
Also, people say everywhere that their batteries are X with Y update and then, with Z, it got worse (or better). It actually depends on your usage, what apps you have installed, how you use your phone, etc etc etc.
Ah! My S7 Edge is the Exynos version.

I've had a serious kernel battery drain and i've tried whatever I could to fix it. It just started out of nowhere and I can't think of any apps that would cause it to continue and so my battery life has been horrible and it doesn't even go into doze half of the time and I also has forcedoze enabled.
If you were able to go back to 6.0.1 without having an error in odin, then what did i do wrong? I put all the right files in the right place.

What model is your phone? What country?
Battery drain, doze not starting... it's normally caused by apps.
Post a screenshot from Settings -> Device Maintenance -> Battery -> Battery Usage

Ohhh Canadaaa \o/
What I would suggest is to start from scratch, without restoring any backup.
If you want, you can download the current and older versions from here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935W8/
I'm also on August security patch and I consistently get 7h+ SOT but I disable preloaded apps, (especially Facebook), use the resolution in HD and a black theme to get the benefits of the AMOLED screen.
When using Odin, make sure you put everything on the right place and use CSC file instead of HOME_CSC. It will delete all your data!

I also have apps disabled or at least HAD them disabled..i've might have enabled them except the ones i know for sure i dont need like facebook, chrome and those microsoft apps...you get the idea. I use HD resolution and keep it on black or dark theme. I use substratum and have whatever apps are supported themed to black.
Also why not home_csc if im starting from scratch?

HOME_CSC will not wipe /data, CSC will. I may be crazy, but I erase things the maximum I can, so: I factory reset before updating to a new version, I use the CSC file to flash via Odin and I factory reset after I've updated. Then I log in to my Google account and start installing my apps from Play Store.
Of course I don't do it monthly (because security patches make no drastic changes). I only do it when there's a huge update (like Android 6.0 to 7.0) or when I feel the phone becomes sluggish (because I've installed and uninstalled lots of apps, for example).
When I had my Nexus 6, I also used fastboot commands and TWRP to garantee it's 100% clean (yep, you can now shout * crazy dudeeee *)

I used to restore all my apps that way too but the last factory reset i did I just restored backup but this time ill do it that way. So now then i gotta take screenshots of where all my apps are placed on my home screen
So I attempted it and it is a success!
Hey guys, small question here, cant seem to find anything quite like it.
Installed the latest stock rom Oreo yesterday, only added Magisk, and Xposed/Gravitybox.
Straight from the start the Settings app (com.android.settings, SecSettings.apk) looked kinda funky.
Much more "settings" available, also some result in a force-close when clicked.
See attached pictures, that's the complete menu.
Both functions "T roaming" and "Serviceprovider"do result in a forceclose when clicked.
Also the 2nd picture shows 2 "Batterij" (Battery).
The top one continu's as supposed to be to the Battery setting section, but the 2nd one also go's to a somewhat like Battery section but its all in black and blue, as shown below.
Ive got a feeling this could be a result of something went wrong installing the rom, the weird thing is, I reinstalled 4 times now, but it keeps happening...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I don't see the point of your post.
Had you posted a link to the update, that would give it relevance!
I do see the point of this post and I appreciate it very much!
This is the place to discuss any problems that may arise when installing the update, changes to the system anyone notices or improvements, bug fixes and new bugs.
You install the update from the update menue, so no link required.
If someone wants to post update files for people to fiddle around with and mess up their phones before complaining about it, that's fine too.
Still no download-link
Definitely relevant, as any hickups will be discussed!
No link needed.. Update is OTA in your phone
Hi. I'm pretty sure I used to have to press on the Update button for an update to be downloaded. I've always left it for a few months due to problems with past updates. I haven't changed any settings but for the last few months I've noticed it start to download a little bit whenever I'm on WI-FI and not mobile data. It then presents me with a 'Restart now' when downloaded. Has anyone else noticed this change?
