Flashing Tmobile HD2 US Version

Hello,
In reference to my first question on thread:

I have just returned from my T mo store in Ohio with a HD2.
It has right now:
ROM: 2.10.531.1
Radio: 2.08.850.08_2
Manila: 2.5.20121412.1
OS: 5.2.21889
While the spld2 or spld that has been posted work on this phone which will enable me to put another ROM on it? If so can I goto HTC site and download the Tmo UK rom on it?
or better yet, has anyone made a ROM compatible for this particular phone that I just got from my Tmo Store Ohio?

Use HSPL2-1024 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5983094&postcount=981 ), then you can flash ROMs that support the T-Mo US version's 1024MB NAND.
The stock UK version won't work (why would you want to do that anyway?), but several custom ones here do (e.g. EnergyROM).

you can only use ROMs based on the TMOUS ROMs, 2.xx

There was one post in the thread from someone who wasn't able to successfully flash a ROM after running HSPL2_1024. Cotulla took it down in order to make sure it's safe, but there haven't been any bricked phones, so you should be fine (I just did mine a few minutes ago).

Update, I used the HSPL2_1024_RUN on my Tmo USA phone selected the 2.08.HSPL and got the " hack...." popup saying it was successful,
Then I put Energy.Leo.23549.Sense2.5_TMobile_USA.Mar.26
all awesome !!!! No issues.

So the HSPL2_1024_RUN got taken off yesterday? When will it be back on does anyone know?

I am getting my tmo HD2 monday. By flashing a new rom does that also unlock the device? I'd like to use my at&t sim in it.

That is called sim unlock.
It won't sim unlock. It just unlocks the device to flash custom ROMs & Radios.

Is the HSPL going back up? Thanks.
I have been looking for the HSPL2_1024_RUN.exe file, but they seem to still be removed. Any word on when it might be showing up again? Many thanks.

I m just a beginner so dont know much abt HTC fones..
I'd therefore like to get some info about changing the language of HTC HD2..
I downloaded few roms but they didnt update each time some error popped up.
Here's the detail of the phone i have.
HTC HD2
OS Version - 5.2.21869 ( 21869.5.0-82)
Manila Version - 2.5.19211619.0
Rom Version - 1.66.409.1 ( 76641) NOR
Rom date - 01/12/10
Radio Version - 2.06.51.07
I downloaded the following roms
RUU_Leo_Vodafone_UK_1.72.161.3_Radio_CRC_Signed_15.32.50.07U_2.07.51.22_2_Ship
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship
but i had errors while updating it..
Can anyone please be kind enough to help me with it?

Okay well first off do you have a TMOUS HD2 or International HD2. TMOUS will have T-Mobile above your screen.
If you do have T-mobile you should not be trying to download any ROM's that are based on 2.07 or lower. Although the phones might look the same they are not. If you do have a International HD2 then your in the incorrect forum. Look for HTC: Leo HD2 on the forum list.
& if you are trying to flash custom roms you need HSPL. Please read the stickies posted on ROM Development before trying any of this. There is a chance you will brick your HD2 and it will end up useless.(Broken)
Check this thread out and scroll down to my post and all that information will help you if you indeed do have a TMOUS HD2.

[Q] How to install ROMs on a T-mobile HTC HD2

Hey guys, I'm a real noob at all of this whole "ROM Downloading" kinda thing. I got an HTC HD2 (1024MB ROM) and an SPL of 2.08.0000. That's all I know, and I need that new Desire HD rom on my phone. I've never installed a rom before (still on crappy winmo 6.5 ) So I need a step-by-step guide that can help me download it. (IN ENGLISH PLZ) I've read other forums, but I'm scared to do anything because I don't want to brick my phone . Someone help please!

Thanks, I think I got some of that down, but what are the steps I need to make to download this rom? I already got the 2.08 Hard spl downloaded and my rom (Desire HD beta 2) downloaded on my comp.

Copy the your Android folder to the root of your SD card;
Open the Android folder
Select CLRCAD file (nothing will happen you select it; thats the way it works)
Select HARET
Then wait and watch the Android magic happen....
The rest is history....

hi this is also another noob question. i have a bone stock hd2 tmous. stock radio 2.10.50.26 and ive ran android on it works fine by drains my full batter in about and 1 hours use. is it better to use another rom? if so whats the best one for running andriod and easiet to install giving my radio? thanks so much for the help

Hey id like to know this as well !!? I've heard that Winmo rom: VBN_RC7_2-Clarity-21916-C1, and Radio: 2.14.50.04 work great for android roms, however, i can't find the links to these anywhere! been looking for hours now help anyone!? suggestions? im trying to use Hyperdroid v1.1

I have an HTC HD2 from Vodafone with SPL 3.03, Radio version 2.07.51.22_2 and ROM version 1.72.161.3 (82124) WWE. I want to move from Windows Mobile 6.5 to FROYO. In all the tutorials I'm reading, I am having a hard time getting started because tutorials for SPL 3.03 require Radio version 2.15 and the official HD2 ROM. Can you clarify how to update the Radio and ROM version on a Vodafone branded phone? Is there a particular Froyo installation guide that would best suit my configuration? Thanks for your help.

Hi Mike,
It doesnt matter what version your Radio is as you want to install HardSPL on your phone before flashing a newer Radio.
Follow my LEO flashing guide and use HSPL4.exe to change your SPL to 2.08.HSPL (HardSPL v2.08). Then you can flash a new 2.15.50.14 Radio via the same guide. You will now have the pre-requisits to install Magldr v1.13 and then CWM which you can use to flash a NAND Android Rom.
It may sound complicated but everything you will need is in my guides in my sig.

Can anybody tell me how can I port Android 4.0(In SD CARD) with HTC Sense into it. Which ROM will be suited and how can i put that ROM. Or is there any method like- getting Original HD2 ROM and then after that all ROMs support the device?
Every time I search on internet I get confused and sometimes scared about DEAD HD2s. I really love my phone, the only problem is that it doesn't support .NET3.5 Framework and because of that there are very less apps available. Once I get android, my phone will shine like a diamond.
I am really not that concerned of HTC Sense what I want is Android 4.0 or 2.3 with all functions properly working.

If you want to install SD Android there is no chance of bricking your phone. Just download the ROM from the thread (check the SD Development section) place the 'Android' folder on the root of your SD card then run CLRCAD and HARET. As for choosing a ROM, there is no Sense 4 ROM, but aside from that there's basically anything else you could possibly want. People can't tell you the 'best' ROM because different people like different things. Try some out, and decide for yourself.
In future please search properly, everything there ^ could be found with a forum search.

What do you mean by 'right version'? WinMo doesn't affect SD Android, the right version is the one you like best. As long as you have a .50 radio (which you do) you're fine.

@Nigel, 2.04.50 radio doesn't count as a 50 radio, (at least as far as unlocking ram and not bricking tmouses) 2.05.50 and below (and perhaps 2.06.50, I forget without checking) are not tmous compatible.
@op, don't confuse your t mobile issued REGULAR hd2 with all the talk about the tmous, or t mobile USA hd2. You have a regular hd2. (Proven by the rom version)

I thought something was fishy with the ROM version, thanks for clearing that up. Either way, @OP just update your ROM to the latest version or flash a newer radio then do as above for Android.

I replied in your other post....you need latest rom with radio 2.15..(radio above 2.08 is compulsory for Android) ....install hspl4..and then put SD build on card and enjoy...I recommend trying the new native SD way...fastest rom just like nand install
Please go through stickies in the Android forum or search in xda not Google
Samsamuel has enough experience in this forums with guiding and preventing people from bricking their tmous hd2 with flashing. 51 radios...so if he says it's not tmous...it is not...happy flashing

You mean if I update my ROM my radio will be automatically updated? If yes, then i only have to put an android rom in sd card and then install it? I hope there is no risk of bricking my phone. Is the latest ROM (WM) available on HTC website(INDIA) suitable for this? Please reply guys! If its really that simple, my phone will shine like a diamond. Please answer while keeping my ROM in mind! correct, stock roms include spl and radio.
get hspl4
use it to set 3.03.hspl (NOT 3.03.0000, thats stock)
run the 3.14 rom you wanna flash over usb
radio will now be 2.15.50 and rom will be 3.14
go ahead and put sd android on sd

Then what? What was that 'spl' thing you were saying? How to change that spl, etc... Can you please elaborate. Your help would be appreciated.

2/ hspl4.exe --> 3.03.hspl (this is a hacked spl, , spl = secondary program loader, , ,it starts the phone, teh hacked one allows the wrong rom to be flashed without failing, , you do NOT currently have hspl because you chose 3.03.0000 which is the factory spl)
3/ bootloader
4/ install the indian rom over usb

Why elaborate when everything's already there for you? There's a forum search tool at the top of your page, as I stated earlier - USE IT.

I am currently having SPL- 1.42.0000, I've already listed my ROM and radio. So first I need to get a new rom from HTC with SPL 3.03.0000 and a better radio. Then I've to install HSPL 3.03 via HSPL4, after that I've to put Android ROM in SD CARD formatted in FAT32, then run the CTRLPD(or whatever) and haret.exe, then I am done! Aren't I right?

choose 2.08.hspl

magldr menu - usb flasher
nand toolkit - select target partition size on left, click repartition bottom left
magldr menu - 8 - ad recovery
cwm starts
choose 'instal zip from sd - choose zip - and point it to teh zip file you wanna instal

One last thing, do u think their are any chances of getting hd2 bricked with the rom i mentioned, just last question. Is it safe?

No you don't have a tmous, only tmous risks brick from wrong radio.
