Does anyone know when Gameloft will be letting ATT Nexus One users buy more than 4 games. Is there a way to get it on to the Nexus One anyway?
Thanks
wapshop.gameloft.com/wifi/tryandbuy
if you go through at&t, you wont see the games (probably some business deal between the two companies fell through or something), but if you go to gameloft directly through the link above, you'll see the HD games available for your phone.

Take the AT&T sim card out and connect over Wi-Fi, this removes all carrier restrictions to the Market on any Android phone that doesn't have a physically modified market app. Shame for CDMA phones that can't do this.
There are only 4 (5 including the free version of Asphalt HD) in my Market and I'm on Vodafone UK.
a) don't get any non-HD versions of games for the nexus. they're awful ports of the generic versions they make for all other phones.
b) if you're going to get HD games, the better place to get them is at the link i posted: wapshop.gameloft.com/wifi/tryandbuy the games here are unlockable demos. that is, they're demos, but when you buy the full version (from inside the game), you don't have to download anything else, because the full game was on the apk that you downloaded, just locked down. the purchase that you do through the game is done directly with gameloft's shop.

Go to Samsungs galaxy tab page (http://www.samsung.com/uk/galaxytab/) and click on the link on the right that says Entertainment Package worth £200.
Fill in your details and imei code (the email is localised to usa i think, the @ button is a ", be careful of this!!) and submit, then check your email.
You get the following for free:

how do I find my IMEI and does it matter if there's no SIM in the Tab?
cheers for this
go to the phone app and dial *#06#
Shouldn't matter if theres a sim in or not
Nice find for those who have brought the device since 03/12/2010 or looking to buy.
I can't register my IMEI and think it's because I purchased my device prior to the 3rd.
Oh well got quite excited about that.

Mine worked fine, but I had to drop the /01 that was at the end of my IMEI from *#06#.
Had mine since early Nov.

it only says the offer is valid from that date, doesn't matter when you got the Tab
I've tried the my IMEI (16 digits) with some different combinations i.e with / and 01 at the end, but keep getting IMEI not recognised.
Any tips help would be appreciated.
yep, mine fails too? May drop samsung a mail to check my validity.
Those of you that have validated it, did you get it with a data plan/contract?
The IMEI is on the back of the TAB (v small digits at bottom), this number has lots of forward slashes in it - did you include those?
Thanks.
forgot to post the link http://www.samsung.com/uk/galaxytab/
easier if you use the phone combination to get the imei.
also i bought mine sim free unlocked and it worked fine
I have tried with slashes and without.
No luck either way.
Mine was puchased from Curry's sim free.
Registered ok (UK purchased a week ago). Got an email with some codes to redeem things. Not actually tried redeeming anything yet but seems like quite a generous gift from Samsung. Cheers!
Are the gameloft games chooseable? I ask as i had my galaxy tab replaced but still have the imei for it. If they're chooseable that's 15 games from gameloft games;-)

Thanks to the OP, i bought my Tab 2nd hand from Cex about 3 weeks ago and it all went through. CEX do make me laugh though, they sold it as Voda locked and it only had the voda boot screen came completely unlocked! Saved myself £75!
Use the stock browser for downloading games, Dolphin HD had none of it.
I get this
To redeem your 5 Gameloft games, visit the Samsung Games app found on your Galaxy Tab home screen, click on the 'voucher code' at the bottom of the page and enter the supplied code. Then simply pick your favourite games and download onto your Galaxy Tab. Please note that each download requires the same voucher code.
To redeem your 15 latest release movies, visit the Samsung Movies app on your Galaxy Tab home screen, set up a Samsung Movies account and then enter the voucher code supplied. Then simply download your must-have movies onto your Galaxy Tab. Unused credits will remain on your account.
i dont have a games app or a movie app...how do i get them.

Can you choose which games you can download or are they already pre chosen?

Has anyone bought any of the MS games from marketplace at all?
I bought The Harvest and have found that although I get the achievements awarded and they show up on my phones live profile, but when I check the online version, it shows the acheivements as being none, although they show up but are grey in colour...
yep I have Flowerz (free) Ilomilo, Crackdown 2 and Revolution mine work fine mate,,
Gamertag - Trev82usa for proof
Ta for that... I wonder if its got anything to do with me changing the live ID for my phone then...
some of my achievements go on straight away some take an hour or so....
Have bought Monopoly and had no issues with gamer points downloading to my Xbox gamertag.
I just bought an xperia play today & im wondering this. I am in new york near syraucse (USA) and my phone isnt running the 2.3.3 update at all. I thought it came with 2.3.3 already. I tried looking for updates but I get nothing.
Also verizon swapped my memory card & I lost all the preloaded games. i go to play them & it tells me i need a wifi connection which we do not have at my home or even near my home. Is there anyways to get these games back VIA PC or using 3G?
1 game let me use 3G to redownload which was the Sims game but that was it.
A lot of coffee shops, McDonalds, etc have wifi...download the games there.
Those games over 3g would eat the hell out of your data plan anyways.
How many games does Verizon give for free? I believe we got 6 here in the UK but I recently saw some providers advertising with 11 free games. Maybe it is including free downloadable ones like Asphalt and Rainbow exclusives.
In Canada (Rogers Xperia Play R800a), there's the natural Crash Bandicoot on PlayStation Pocket that's free, otherwise I've seen Rainbow Six and Asphalt I believe... That's pretty much it...
Can anyone tell me if there is a way, easy or hard, to get access to foreign markets' Google Play store content from a US Nexus 7? Specifically, my friend is trying to buy some music from the Japanese Google Play Music store, but the store is locked to the US market.
Is there a way to access the Japanese store from the US? If she visits Japan, will the Google Play Store switch over to the Japanese store?

If nobody has any thoughts about how to get this working, can anyone recommend a better forum to ask?
Perhaps use a VPN service.

Thanks for the suggestions. Re: Market Unlocker - I initially tried that, but the pre-included options only were for a few select countries, and none of the worked. I looked up some Japanese carriers' IDs and tried entering them, and that didn't work either. Not sure if there is a guide for this sort of thing, but I don't know how I could have messed up.
For the other suggestions: IMEI editing is beyond my expertise, and seems very serious in terms of hacking--does the Nexus 7 even have an IMEI as a non-cellular device?
I'm not sure how to set up a VPN on Android.
(Sorry if I sound like a beginner--in fact, I regularly root/customize my phones. But this process has all sorts of things I've never done before.)

Currently I'm using Google Play via OpenVPN option (with Japan IP), without root (on Nexus 7)
While it will unlock those region locked content for you, you are still going to encounter problem when purchasing goodies off Japan (region) only stuff, and which, is a much bigger issue IMO. I have yet to figure out how to get the Google Checkout/Wallet accepting my non-Japan credit / debit card. So basically you are going to have trouble on anything which isn't free (well sometimes even ¥0 JPY stuff, which is free IMO).
Does Visa/MC/etc. sell pre-paid gift cards in Japan and the UK? If so, could that be a work around for the foreign credit card problem?
use fakegps, enable mock location, use vpn, create japanese account, remember that its not permanent
I can't seem to find an answer for this in Google. Was wondering if anyone could help me figure it out.
My mother wants to buy a Nexus 10. She lives in Luxembourg, but spends about 2 months every year visiting us in the US. (She is here now, preparing to buy tablet). She wants to access the US Play Store, both here and at home in Lux. Is this possible? What would we need to do it set it up that way? Is using a US credit card enough or are we going to need some kind of Market Enabler app? VPN/Proxy?
Thanks!

You would be able to access the playstore from most countries. The country would remain the one to which your google account is linked and I guess so will the currency.
For example, google movies weren't available where I live around till a month ago. They wouldn't show up on my play store earlier. However, they would show up on my sister's playstore when she visited from London. In simple terms, she was accessing Playstore UK from New Delhi, India.
In answer to the question about the US playstore regarding your mum's tab, I guess you will have to buy a tablet preferably with a US credit card (though this might be overlooked) and definately register it to a US based gmail account. Be sure to register a credit card on the playstore and google account which works in the US.

I'm afraid the above answer may be wrong; it certainly is for Google Play Books. I live in the US, have an Android tablet (Asus TF101 running a Jellybean ROM, tested and working fine with Google Play and with numerous purchases in the US), and it was activated and regularly used for well over a year in the US. My Google account to which it is linked has been used regularly in the US for quite a few years. And to top it all off, the account is linked to a credit card issued in the US, by a US credit union.
Despite all of the above, when I went to purchase a book while travelling overseas on a two week vacation recently, the purchase was denied on the grounds that I was not in the US. It may work briefly, I don't know; I'd been overseas for maybe 9-10 days when I tried the purchase.
However, it was utter childs' play to circumvent this. All I had to do was buy VPN access (it so happens I already had it), go in through the VPN to get a US IP address, and hey presto... The Play store let me make the very same book purchase it had just refused me.
So yes, a VPN is the answer. I used WiTopia, which is US$50 annually or US$6 per month.

This thread might make clearer which credit card to use. You can read the credit card related part.
As for the reply by the person above me, as he has tried purchasing from google playstore while travelling he might have a better idea about that, though I am sure US playstore, movies, music, books etc would be available to you abroad as UK playstore is for my sister. As per what he says, buying from them might be a problem.

Oh, yes. They're available abroad, they just don't let you buy (at least some) products.
Thanks again
When I travel led to Canada it showed me the Canadian play store and I could not access the US play store.
