it would be usefull if you told us exactly which desire hd rom, how you are running it (daf, cwm, sd card), and whether you have an ext partition on your sd card. Oh, and which phone you have, regular or tmous.
Sense roms are big, they take up a big chunk of the nand, so it is almost always essential to use app2sd and/or data2sd. (read the thread for the rom you have to know which it supports)
More accurate info = more accurate help.
rubbish info = rubbish guesswork help.

Thanks for your reply...
here is my details..
ROM : LeoRCMix S v.1.5 (RCMixS v.2.0) [Sense 2.1+3.0]
Running using : CWM
Phone : HTC HD2
Im using : TMOUS
I know i have to use app2sd/data2sd.. but im not sure how to config it.. even i tried to do but im struck with boot screen..
ok, so it should only need a 200 meg system partition, so my guess would be that you haven't set up the 1gb ext partition? you can do that through cwm (backup your sd card first, it will get formatted) and
but im not sure how to config it

you dont have to. it does it itself so long as you have the ext partition properly created. I also think that if you DONT have the ext partition set up yet, you will probably need to reinstal the rom after you DO set it up.
So, summary, , , question 1 - do you have an ext partition set up?
(Also, and this causes a lot of confusion, , , when the system uses an ext partition, it DOES NOT show the extra space in the available memory count, but it does get used, , so for example my phone shows 210MB or so free internal space, , , i install a 10MB probgram, that goes down to 200, BUT after i reboot, it goes back up to 210, , because the prog has actually installed to my 512MB ext partition, not the 210 internal space.)

then you are wasting 200 meg, , that rom says in post 1
EU and TMOUS: 200M system + 1GB EXT partition

that means you have 200 meg empty in your system partition, not being used.
Stuff that you install do not get installed to the system partition, nothing (or at least not apps / settings) gets put into the system partition, except the system at installation.
Do a full cwm backup, reflash using a 200MB partition layout, reflash the rom to teh new layout, restore your data and sd-ext partitions from advanced restore (in cwm) and you will recover the 200MB

Thanks a lot... now i understood wht is system and data memory.. now i got 200mb internal memory.. thanks again
same problem
i have a nand of 4.1.2 in my hd2 its pacman
it shows system memory only 13mb, i have removed all apps i installed earlier but still no space freed, can i atleast get the same 150mb back which i had earlier i.e any way to wipe all data on it/hard reset it?
is there any way of expanding the memory? because after i have installed 10-15 apps the memory vanished(even though i moved the apps to sdcard using app2sd) does that means i can not install more apps any way??
p.s i am a new user of android dont know how to install new rom etc so please explain the solution in simple steps.
Hi there,
I never dealt with creating swap partition. I'm using latest SwiftDroid now and like to know if it uses swap automatically. If not, would it be advisable to create one? How do I have to do this? Which size should it have and does SwoftDroid ASIS recognise it rigth?
I googled a lot and search in the forum, but didn't find helpful information.
Thanks

using swap isn't the best idea as it kills ur sd card faster.
also a lot of people use about 200mb swap partition to about 300mb swap
partition..
u could get the app from the market ( swapper2 for root users )
or read this thread!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317362
Mur4ik recommends swap 256MB for previous versions of SwiftDroid, so I think that is also applies to ASIS. ASIS can use swap automatically (no need to use swapper app) if you create swap partition as third on sdcard (second should be ext - in newest recovery you can create 2MB ext3 partition).

Okay, now slowly. I flashed my phone with Mur4ik's KDZ Method before installed SwiftDroid. So there should be 150MB for system,64MB for cache and 234MB free internal storage. Are the 64MB memory for swap? So that SwiftDroid always uses swap but with internal memory?
Now I don't understand what you say about second and third partition and what exactly Mur4ik suggest for his ROM. They are both an SD, aren't they? I use a 16GB class 4 SD card. So what should I do to get best performance with ASIS?

150MB for system,64MB for cache and 234MB free internal storage <- it's internal storage of your phone, system is just system, cache is for files downloaded from internet, internal storage is for installing your applications.
On sdcard you should have primary partition (fat32), ext3 and swap (linux swap type) partition. The third will be automatically used. See thread mentioned above or copy everything from your sdcard to you computer, reboot phone into recovery and creat ext partition and swap partition (in that order) through recovery. Then reboot phone and copy data back from computer to phone's sdcard.
Ok, i managed to create 256MB swap partition.
So what do you say is the best swappiness value? I read that 60 seems to be to high?
PS: How can I see if swap works?
I leave mine at 60 to see If it works type free in a terminal on the phone
Ok it works. Terminal shows me that the phone uses swap. But I also recognised it by playing some games, which worked laggy before and now run very smooth.
About swappiness: I read that 30 seems to be the best for our phone?
ASIS set swappiness to higher value (I believe 60) - I've changed it to 30 in previous versions but now I just left it as it it. I don't see any difference.
Yay! no more third person software :3, native swap.
Thanks :3
I have american android NAND MAGLDR installed in my HD2. But I have one problem with low internal memory.
Briefly: I have very low internal memory. About 50 MB only despite the fact that I have moved all my downloaded market apps onto my SD card. Preinstalled Android apps like MAPS, facebook and so on Im not able to move to my SD card. But there are still updates of this apps and Im afraid of that there will not be any free space for them in the while because 50 MB is really very little.
is there any option how to solve this problem?

Search in the american android thread about data2sd script or an a2sd+ script, when you get there, there should bin instructions on how to install it, as it varies for different roms.

I made ext3 partition cca 800 MB and swap partition cca 133 MB on my SD card by using MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition.
Then I have put my SD card into HD2 and by using MAGLDR I have installed american android 2.3.7 NAND.
But problem is it shows that my internal memory is still the same (as was before I made ext3 partition 218 MB total and 159 MB free)
I believed that when I create ext3 partition it will increase my internal memory. But it did only that some space from my SD card disappeared.
Could somebody explain me why is that, what did I wrong ?

Depending on the script you are using, internal memory wont show an increase. If you want to see if its working use titanium backup. The reason for this is different scripts use different symlinks and linked directories.

titanium backup dont show me anything like ext3 partition
I have no idea what I did wrong .. I did it in accordance with instructions witch was written in american android FAQ
could somebody tell me please how could I use a ext3 SD partition in american android 2.3.7 NAND? Im working on it 60 hours and I dont know what I do wrong because my android is not able to mount that partition:
here is what I did:
1. operating system wm 6,5 HTC HD2
2. flash MAGLDR 1.13 and choosed option 5. flash USB
3. run american android setup (ACA setup exe) and installed it
4. took my SD card 4GB and by using minitools partition wizard i created:
- HD2 partition, primary, FAT 32, cluster 32k
- sd-ext partion, primary, ext3, 800 MB
- linux swap, primary, 128 MB
5. then I insert SD card into HTC HD2 and restart
6. android, titanium backup, android commander are not able to detect any ext3 partition
7. Link2SD was able to detect this partition and install apps in there but when I restarted my phone all apps installed in sd2 partition just disappeared. So now link2sd just shows there is something on sd2 partition but Im not able to see it nor use it
could somebody tell me what I did wrong ?
How could I run data2sd script or a2sd+ script on american android rom ? (I have looking for it on the thread but I didnt find instructions)
or tell me another option how to free internal memory of phone for american android 2.3.7 NAND CM7,2
I have installed MIUI.us-Leo-2.4.27-HWA.ZIP in to my HTC HD2. Everything is working fine except Camera and phones internal memory is very low, only 25MB resulting cannot update any existing applications.
My phones total internal memory memory is 151MB and available is only 25MB.
SD card total space is 15GB and available is 9GB which is fine.
Total downloaded applications are 26 only, so it is not that I have too many application downloaded.
I moved most of the downloaded and other applications to SD card by using titanium backup. Few could not be moved for unknown reason as it does not give me option to move.
Can anyone please help me to increase my internal memory to at least at 70 or 60MB please.
Would appreciate your help.

what is the data.img that you used?
are you using NAND rom? in that case what was the size of the partition you used, did you follow the recommended size?

Yes, it is NAND ROM. The recommended partition was above 200mb and I used 250mb, so it was okay.
All I need to increase my internal space at least to 60 or 70mb so that application update can be done.
Many thanks
The ROM suggested 200, but you installed 250. You just lost 50 worth o internal storage.
You'll need to install an A2SD script, in order to be able to use your sd card as an internal storage. (of course, after making an ext2 partition )

Hey there,
first, thank for this really great ROM - [17/02/2013] [JB] [4.1.2] Pixeldroid Jelly Bean V2.4[AOKP] [BeatsAudio] [720p]
its running a few weeks absolutly fine, fast.
but today, i needed to reboot the phone and then i got the welcome screen (that one after a clean install).
the problem is the memory, i followed exactly the installation steps but it seems, it uses the internal memory for apps (~55 MB are full, nothing left)
the actual memory status is shown in the attachment.
seems, the ext4 partition on the 8 GB SD isn't used, but why ?
and - how can i free the internal, no chance to install any app

You need to install something to switch data usage to the sd card. There are many scripts & apps to accomplish this but I couldn't tell you which would be best for your rom.
Alternately, you can ask whoever published the rom to add a DataOnExt install option.

Marvlesz is right - it should work if you have DataOnExt. The picture shows "Available" space if I am not mistaken. What is your "Internal" space indicate? Look in Titanium Backup if you can.

56,83 MB used from apps
i used the configuration in the rom description:

Something is definitely very wrong but I cannot yet see what or where. Marvlesz, any ideas yet?
Your memory display should look something like this one - this is with 3 GB of ext4 partition:
You might want to take a look at this post about formatting. You may spot something that you did differently which could help.
Not knowing your ROM I can only guess what it is expecting.
Your ext4 partition is the second one on the card, marked as primary, yes?
What does DF report?
The data part. was corrupted end not write or readable, after a recovery reinstall i got "internal" size of 1,65 GB with 1,21 GB free
Thanks for your help !! you helped me to indicate the lost data partition
