I saw on a forum on www.xda-italia.com that there is an image of a QTEK 1010 from TIM (Telecom Italia) going around. Is there a chance to have it on an FTP site available to the community?

L'ho chiesto perchè in molti forum di lingua inglese si irritano se vengono usate altre lingue... spero non sia il caso di questo forum.
Partiamo dalle ose semplici... ci conviene smaniare per ottenere una rom in italiano? Mi giungono voci su alcune mancanzze che avrebbe la nazionalzzazione italiano del sistema operativo... sapete nulla dei tipi di input (software ivviamente..) di cui dispone?

Well, I think it would be nicer to speak in english anyway....
Then, I read about some feature missing in the italian version of the PPC2002 Rom, expecially the transcriber (that I think can be installed separately).
Anyway I would really like to put my hands on both TIM and Vodafone Italian Rom.
So it would be nice to have someone able to give some FTP space to upload and share it for few days....

Error in SMS for Italian users

When, writing SMS, i've got to write the word " il " it change it in " I'll ". Why? have you solved this problem?

La soluzione è in due passi (avevo lo stesso problema):
1) Installi un SIP (Software Input Panel, tastiera) italiana, così hai un vocabolario italiano per completare le parole... io uso quella di LEng che è gratuita se usi solo la tastiera e le estensioni di linguaggio. La trovi per il download su www.pocketgear.com
2) Disabiliti il completamento automatico delle parole da parte di Windows nei metodi di Input, tanto ti basta quello di LEng.
Vedrai che "il" resterà "il"... fra l'altro l'apostrofo usato in "I'll" usa caratteri unicode e il messaggio si accorcia a 70 caratteri max... quindi attento!!!

Solo una cosa..... ora che ci penso.... da dove si disabilita il completamento automatico ?

Start/settings/Personal/Input/Word Completition leva la spunta:
- Suggest words when entering text
- Replace text as you type
tanto entrambe queste cose le gestisce poi LEng.

quindi nel caso a me non importasse di avere il completamento delle parole in ITA eliminerei il problema solo agendo come mi hai riferito nell'ultimo post senza installare alcun programma.

I tried to download and install it...but it doesn't work (it tells me that it's not a valid Pocket PC application)!!!
I noticed that it was studied for Windows 2003 and 2003SE, maybe that's the reason why it doesn't work with WM5???
Please...if someone has a solution let us know...thanks!!!

I have used it on WM2003SE WWE and WM2005 (Rom 1.60c) on my Qtek 2020 and I haven't any problem....

no è stato acquistato in asta fallimentare insieme a molte altre cose dell'azienda e il precedente proprietario ha pensato bene di farlo bloccare dichiarando lo smarrimento per...."ripicca".
Rivoltomi alla vodafone del mio paese ed ad un avvocato mi hanno detto che faccio prima a comprarne uno nuovo e per il vecchio proprietario dovrei intentare una causa.....e che caxxx l'avrò pagato anche poco ma così non vale niente!

Se lo hai comprato all'asta fai un fax a chi te lo blocca!Avrai pure qualche documento attestante il regolare acquisto......

sono andato ai carabinieri e mi hanno confermato quello che mi ha detto l'avvocato: IL TELEFONO E' MORTO.
il vecchio proprietario in periodo antecedente l'aggiudicazione d'asta in mala fede ha provveduto al blocco dichiarando il falso, per tale azione la vodafone richiede sentenza da parte di giudice di pace!.
Comunque non cerco consigli ma aiuto, l'ho pagato 250 euro come da ricevuta di tribunale insieme ad altri oggetti della stessa azienda.

About the iWizard mode of the previous link I sumbmited, did u tried the awizard and the downgrade too ?
I just tried the awizard and after the iwizard started but was unable to red correctly the IMEI, than I stoped due to I don't realy need to change the IMEI, so I stopped after this.

Che telefono hai ? se si tratta di un htc p3600 puoi indicare i dati del bootloader e che rom hai dentro? Grazie .... forse per farlo riconoscere devo fare un downgrade...

Before the CID unlock of awizar, iwizard was unable to find my device, after it find it but read a wrong imei then I stopped.

non riesco ancora a far partire questo p3600 ho letto in giro che bisogna fare un downgrade e sbloccare la cid poi far partire iwizard ma fatto tutto a me dice con iwizard (si blocca subito) che non comunica col palmare e di controllare activesync e o la connessione usb.
Mi pare d'aver letto che lo sblocco del cid deve avvenire dal palmare e non dal pc per non far rimanere il cid bloccato alla scrittura o cose del genere .... qualcuno ha qualche idea? se volete parliamone credo che interessi a molti.
sapete di qualche utility che visualizza tutti i dati salienti tipo radio cid etc ? grazie

Sim error - no service

Hi to all,
I'm new of the forum and I'm new of htc world...I'm italian and I have a vodafone IT sim card 64Kb. (i have a htc touch dual)
But my htc won't recognize it...
It display always the signal icon with an "!" (exlamation mark).
and up on the time display there is the written "no service"...
If I try to set manually the network he finds the Vodafone it network but if I try to register it, I have this error:
"Can't do the registration of the selected network, choose another network or disconnect the data connection and retry"...
I don't know what else to do, I've try the softreset and I think the hard reset with the application "erase data", but nothing change!
Now I write down the configuration:
Windows Mobile 6 Pro
ROM ver: 1.31.408.09
Rom DATE: 10/30/07
Radio ver: 1.58.16.27
Protocol ver: 25.61.30.03W
ExtRom ver: 1.31.408.8601
N. Model: NIKI100

sono nuovo di questo forum e sono nuovo utente di un htc touch dual, preso usato in cambio del mio Nokia E65 (ho fatto un buon affare?).
Quindi sono nuovo di questi pocket pc palmari ecc Very Happy perche sono sempre stato abituato a smartphone con SO Symbian o UIQ...
Stamattina prendo il mio Touch Dual ci metto la mia sim vodafone da 64K ke uso da anni, et voilà!!!!
NON FUNGE NULLA!
O meglio l'icona della rete mi da sempre una x...ho provato a fare "ricerca rete automatica" ma nulla, ho provato a resettare il cellulare e nulla....
non so proprio come fare!
Il cell è brandizzato tim ma non credo che incida qualcosa....
Grazie infinite dell'aiuto, sono nuovo di questo mondo e devo pur imparare....

AGGIORNAMENTO:
Ho provato una scheda tim e va solo dopo che ho messo la connessione manuale. e nonostante tutto si disconnette...
se metto la vodafone e faccio la connessione manuale, mi trova la rete ma poi mi restituisce il seguente errore quando tento di registrarmi:
Impossible effetturare la registrazione alla rete selezionata. selezionare un'altra rete oppure disconnettere la connessione dati e riprovare
Per i dati di sistema leggere sopra la versione inglese...

Is the HTC Touch Dual locked to a certain network? Maybe it's not unlocked to use Vodafone.

Check you IMEI

There is a number you can ring, then type in your IMEI number and they (an automated service) tell you whether your phone is barred/blacklisted or not.

Italian 3g configuration

Hi could anyone here give me the knowledge to configure an italian fastweb datacard to be used in this device? I tried every configuration possible still it won't work.
(new 3g connection, apn: datacard.fastweb.it, fastweb.it, fastwebnet.it or even new connection (not 3g) with numer *99# and a lot of username/password configurations)
It is really annoying. I want to use the htc shift x9500 but if i cannot use it outside a wifi connection is useless for me.
And another thing: in the weather settings, my city is not reported. How can i add it? thanks a lot to everyone

Why don't you just put the SIM in the Shift?

Your Fastcard has many problems .. look at the network, many people have your same problem ...
It will be difficult on this site you will find a solution for an Italian manager.
Your problem is not the shift, but your Fastcard.
Find a support forum for that!

La tua fastcard ha molti problemi.. guarda la rete, molti utenti hanno il tuo stesso problema...
Sarà difficile che in questo sito riuscirai a trovare una soluzione per un gestore italiano.
Il tuo problema non è lo Shift, ma la tua connect card.
Cerca un forum di supporto per quella! o semplicemente, hai provato a chiamare il tuo gestore?

Bolzano - Alto Adige, la citta' piu' vicina e' Trento ma e' ad 1 ora circa a sud, non credo proprio che il meteo sia esatto. Non c'e' proprio possibilita' di aggiungere le citta'? Per touch hd e diamond c'erano dei cab che giravano per aggiungere tutte le citta' e tutte le regioni
