Hello Experts,
Now I'm modifying the bottom bar of Sense UI like Slate theme of Sense HD Rom.
So I can replace some icon and images of Rosie.apk and successfully flash on my desire.
But I cannot change the path of the scroller (or page indicator.. I don't know how I should say this..) like the snapshot that I attached below.
It still moves as following the original path of Sense....Hmm
If somebody know how to modify the path of the scroller, could you tell me how to do that????
I don't know how to change the path, but maybe it looks better if you just remove (make it 100% transparent) the indicator.
Which is inside framework-res.apk.
Thank you for the reply....
If nobody know how to change the path, I have no choice but to make it 100% transparent for this indicator...
Hey, we have figured this out over in the Hero forums here.
It should be the same values that need to be changed. Page 2 and 3 give you everything you need. But basically you need to decompile 'Rosie.apk' and locate the integers.xml in \res\values-normal (might be different for the Desire). Then set 'scroll_y1' and 'scroll_y3' equal to 'scroll_y2'
Recompile, push to the phone and boom
Oh.. I check this today.. Thank you so much I will try it.

Were i can locate the default wallpapers on my HTC and if anyone know whats the default size of them
Maybe i will sit and make one of my own so i need those info
And ..what i need to make it a weather - wallpaper ? And what i need to make it animated?
Thanx in advance
MOD EDIT - Moved to General forum as not related to rom development
no one can help me?
You're free to decide in which direcotory to put your own wallpapers, no need to put them in the default directory. I for myself have put several wallpapers in a directory on the storage card. Later, as you change your wallpaper, just go to the TouchFlo tab called "wallpaper" or "background picture" (I'm not sure since I use another language version) and navigate to this directory, then select your own wallpaper.
They can be of different sizes. Since this is not a full answer to your question, I added a container with some nice wallpapers which I found in another forum. The last one ("fantasy") is special, it has an additional frame.
Thanx for reply !
i need to know the dimensions cause i like to make my own theme (Starcraft 2 )
Anyway you know how to make it animated ... or like those new "Weather Wallpaper" ?
i have an HTC HD with Maryone Rom... 6.5

I only can tell you the dimensions of the one I use myself ("fantasy", it's included in the *.zip file I uploaded). Its dimensions are 533 x 800 pixels.
Sorry, no idea how to animate a picture, my knowledge in graphics is down to almost zero. However, searching with "how to animate a jpg" brought instant access to several solutions (software packages). Some are to be found here: http://bit.ly/cblIdu. Good luck, though!
ok mate
thanx a lot
Hi,, i am just wondering if its possible to completly change the app/icon pictures to something totaly differnt?
i have just rooted and flashed my phone with the leedroid rom.. and then a nice espresso mod style theme.. but it doesent change any icons as such...
I was wondering if its possible to get something like these shown on this thread in the HD2 forums... and if so is it a hard process to do?

cheers
You can use "FolderOrganizer Lite" to change the icons.
Thanks.. Does that come with any icon sets? Or if not what's the procedure for importing icons
.
Thanks for the advice .. )

I would suggest DesktopVirtualizer, it's much more user friendly and does the same job. You just add a widget called "desktopvirtualizer (SS)" and it let's you choose the application and the icon you want for it + custom text with custom color and background. I think either applications don't have any icon packs included.
do any of these automaticly change all my icons to a specific type in 1 click? ? or do i have to manualy select and change each and every icon ?
Hey Developers,
I'm currently really busy with Android and everything around it. now I want to start and create my own theme. So far I know I have to pull (or get it from my current ROM) framework-res.apk and take the res map out (or icons) and then when I'm done I have to open it with 7zip and but the files I've edited back and then I can push it (not 100% sure how I have to do that but I'll find that out later)
Now the problem I'm having is changing the colors. I want to set the color of everything (buttons, radio buttons, numbers) and stuff to Purple instead of the normal Green.
I'm currently doing this by opening every file with Photoshop edit it and save it.
Is there any other way to do this or am I using the right way?
Hope someone can help me out!
Thanks in Advance,
SterAllures
You can do it this way with no problems.
If you want have all animations on notifications bar available at the moment you can use my framework-res if you want, it also have com.htc.resources.apk for espresso launcher theme, I based my work on other framework do it here with all animations on notifications enabled because I can't do it well without problems.
Framework with espresso [30-09-2010]: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DEIXMTG4
Framework with espresso carbono [30-09-2010]: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OIAQDS5E
GPS movement on conection
Rotate sync icon
SCB "I" do it by NeoPhyTe for me and added later for http://circle.glx.nl
All notification icons replaced and colored
"Herotizado" window style
And some others that I don't remember at the moment
Well I want to start by editing the colour and after that change the colors. but thanks a lot for the frameworks! I'll download them and look at it!
but I still want to know if by editing them with Photoshop is the best way to do it? or is there an easier/better way?

You can look at my small tutorial in my signature

After a long fight with my framework-res.apk I must warn you: if you push the new apk back on the phone via adb you are likely to get a lot of errors on boot from alle the HTC apps launching at startup. You're way better off if you create a update.zip and flash it - no errors at all. In Fightspit's tutorial is a link to the utils for such an update.zip (the tutorial is great and a life saver btw).
And do not forget to decompile framework (not unzip) before editing images, or u will have problems with .9.png (they must have 1px border around)
Edit: and yes u have to edit images one at the time with photoshop
Heya,
I'm back from a lil vacation .
Wanted to thank you all I've read through the link in your signature which was very helpfull!
And Unfortunately Mendozinas I already had a feeling I had to edit every lil file one by one but thanks for clearing that up, gonna be a pain the first time I think but it will be worth it!
Hope I can create a professional looking theme!
I'm cooking framework-res.apk for my theme.
But I can't find the background of notification buttons(wifi,gps...).
I've been searching it for a period of time, but I just know the background file is in framework-res.apk...
I also take a look at all of the files in it, but I have no idea which one is the file...
Can someone tell me what is the name of the file...?

Updated - Thanks for clem_ita's help!
The settings of notification's background behind the buttons are in lge-res.apk.
The method to change its color:
1. Use apktool to decompile the lge-res.apk.
2. Go to res\layout and find "lge_status_bar_expanded.xml".
3. Open it with a text editor, and search for the string:
android:id="@id/quick_setting"
Click to collapse
4. You'll see something like this (In my Chinese lge-res.apk it shows like this):
android:background="#ffd0d0d0"
Click to collapse
Just change the color in the quote.
5. Recompile it and replace the stock one with the modified one.
After reboot, you'll see the change.

Because I can't find it, so I just post here....
In your theme(DarkRoom), the notification background is changed...
Even though I extracted the framework-res.apk in your theme, I still couldn't find the image which looks like the background...
I have no idea either... I just used other frameworks as base for the theme...
I have not tested yet, but this backgroudn color should be set via a xml file in lge-res.apk
the xml file should be lge_status_bar_expanded.xml in the layout folder
(got this informations from save80 @ androidword.it forum.. cannot post the exact link as I am a new user)
You also have to change the buttons background using a photo editor software. Those aren't just xml's. With xml's you can change the colour behind the buttons, not the buttons backgrounds. I hope I made myself clear enough. If you need any further assistance, I am here to help.

My purpose is just to change the bg color behind buttons.
Anyway, thanks for your tips.
Has anyone found a way to modify the notification bar? (or replace it with a different one that can be customized?) I'd like to remove the clock. I have a really nice looking widget that lets me use 24h mode and it's quite annoying to have two clocks right next to each other.
You could probably modify it by editing framework-res.apk.
Some stuff about editing that file: https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AcdxIJRSH9ypZGZzc2pxNDlfMjdnazk4OHNxZA&hl=en
Also, it has already been done for Fire, so it is possible and it works etc. : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365712
EDIT: You could also probably do it with a MetaMorph theme, but you'd still need to do the same stuff pretty much, only instead of repacking the framework-res.apk, you'd build a MetaMorph ZIP and install it via MetaMorph.
