After I corrected the purposely "encoded" html address, it downloaded fine. Personally, not installing this yet.

If someone tells me how to rip the .enc file open, Il throw this puppy on my phone through odin ..
How was this found? If via KIAS. Can you guys get the decryption keys and what not so we can get it into a ODIN version?
Thanks!
Looks neat
does anyone know how to decrypt this encrypted file? if so i'd be willing to be a guinea pig and try it =)

You need the keys which can be gotten from a packet dump.
Or you can grab it via KIES if this is where this came from. You can grab the temp file.

What he said
I have the tools just need the crc and encrypt strings to open it up
Once we have that we can dump it and deodex it. Also, other way to get it is to let it decrypt via Kies and then snag it from the temp directory

I ran into this problem too running the Sprint based Fresh rom. While Jcase's Market Fix will fix the problem with missing protected apps, it wont fix the missing Verizon apps.
To do that, I used Root Explorer on my phone and opened the "build.prop" file located in the System folder. Open the file in the included text editor and scroll down to until you see this line:
"ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric"
The correct value for the line should be "310012". Sprint roms will have the value as "310120".
Save the changes and exit. After reboot, check your Market. The right-most tab on the main page will read "Verizon" now instead of "Downloads".
Or flash this handy zip from recovery.

I know this is probably elementary, but is there a step by step post anywhere for flashing a zip file?
I just rooted last night and put the first custom ROM on my phone. This is uncharted territory for me. Everything is great so far except for these missing apps.
I tried the root explorer method, but it would only let me read the text, not edit.
EDIT: Ignore this post. GREAT SUCCESS!! Too easy.

Hay Bros. Hulu on Vibrant w/Froyo, let's make this happen k?
I'm on Onyx R3.1 (Froyo).
Have the latest modified Flash
Have UA set to desktop
Using Dolphin
Using the hulu.com/widget URL
No go.
What next? It seems to work on other phones, but have not seen any confirmation with Vibrant.
Thanks bros.

What are you talking about? Hulu blocks access my all mobile phones unless Hulu Plus is purchased.
Isn't Hulu blocking the specific ID of the mobile version of Flash? If that's the case you'll never get around the block, unless you get Hulu Plus, where they specifically allow it.

That's what the modified flash is for. It changes it so that it doesn't say it is coming from a mobile phone.
there is a modified Flash apk in the Nexus section... it allows for our phones to watch hulu... it works I have it...

It works with the entire Macnut series. It was one of the first things I tested in R11. Hopefully this will be the last time I post how to get it to work:
Method 1 - uninstall the old flash player (our don't download it from market) rename the hacked flash to install_flash_player.apk and place it in the /system/app directory and install it (i used root explorer). Then open up a browser window and type about:useragent and hit enter, then select desktop and navigate to hulu and enjoy.
Method 2- open the .zip file of the rom you want and delete the install_flash_player.apk file (if it exists) and place the renamed hacked version in there, then flash the rom. Do the useragent trick and enjoy. Video of method 2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KyAzWisQW8
There's also a link to a hulu.apk that does the useragent trick for you on the same page with the hacked flash file. It's kind of buggy but it works and I've been able to use it since Macnut R4.
Edit: here, I'll even link the post in the Nexus forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6583857&postcount=1
Edit 2: It works with Macnut R12 as well. I installed it via method 2 described above.

Have you tried replacing the flash file in the zip for the rom and reflashing yet? Now that I think about it, I did try to get it to work when I briefly tried out obsidian V1 or 2 (can't remember which) and the file wouldn't install, but I didn't test out what would happen if I tried to add it to the zip file.
seems that way but if its truly hulu.com that you want then switch over to mcnut. i didnt beccause i hate the i9000 logo when booting. i know it's a small thing when looking at it from a "i can watch hulu" perspective but .... hey ! what can i say? I like obsidian all around!

If you can find a link to R11, it didn't have the i9000 logo come up at all. You'll have to flash the sd fix and you won't be able to OC either, but it will be free of that logo you don't want.

I tried everything but adding it into the zip file. I will give it a shot when I flash to the next release.

Don't extract anything. Just open the zip file in whatever program you use (I use WinRAR), find the install_flash_player.apk file, highlight it and delete it. Then take the flashed_fixed.apk file and rename it to install_flash_player.apk and drop it into the folder that same folder. After it's done compressing it you should be good to go. This method has worked for me with the past 4-5 versions of Macnut. I haven't tried it with any other roms though.
Edit: Hang on I'll make a video.
Update - video made, but my connection is crappy so it'll take a while before it's uploaded.

okay. i will have to wait until I get home. I cannot install winrar on my work computer. I tried just exploring the zip folder but it will not let me delete the file while it is zipped.
Failed to flash unzipping then rezipping. Trying a second time via qreffie's method.
Opening up with winrar and replacing files did not work either. When I try to flash, CW says "bad file"
EDIT: This will also work if you are trying to update to EC05.
For those of you that are having issues with updating to EB13 because of one click root deleting the Asphalt Demo, I have found a solution. I had the same problem. When trying to update via CWM I would get an error message saying the Asphalt demo was missing from the system apps folder.
To get around this, you'll need root access the preloaded asphalt demo, and root explorer.
1) Download the asphalt demo pulled from the stock D18 rom.
http://www.fileserve.com/file/WSta8et
2) Place the file onto your sd card.
3) open root explorer, press the "Mount R/W"
4) find the asphalt file, long press and hit copy.
5) use the back key and find the system folder.
6) within the system folder, find the app folder.
7) once inside the app folder, press the paste button.
8) reboot into CWM
9) now retry updating with your update.zip via clockworkmod and enjoy froyo!
Note: Updating does remove OneClickRoot so you will need to reinstall after updating. Hope this helps everyone!
If you get errors regarding the playlogo while trying to update in cwm, reboot and remove the oneclickroot after all these steps. here is the uninstaller noobnl and firon provided: http://firon.net/xda/one.click.stock.flasher.&.root.uninstaller-di18.zip

Just realized in the my files application that i still have the gameloft folder with a folder inside named games and another inside of that named asphalt5 inside of that there are many files with the name of raw and numbers following them along with a few other files.
You may be able to push the file to the system app folder through your computer and adb, but I'm not sure how to do that. Maybe someone with more experience can help.
Unless there is another app that allows you to paste files into the system folder for free. I only know of root explorer that does this.
Even though you have the folder on your sd card, you still still need the actual apk within the system app folder. I tried downloading the demo and that won't work.

can someone who has not unlocked their bootloader go through the "repair" process in either one of the software updaters located here

thanks, if you or anyone else is following along at home, universal extractor http://legroom.net/software/uniextract can extract *most* archive files unless it is heavily encrypted... then more digging I must do.
BUT... if that works, how to inject root access to a already compiled boot.img + ram disk have a look at this guide
http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=HOWTO:_Unpack,_Edit,_and_Re-Pack_Boot_Images
read the whole article but pay attention to the "alternative method" where you modify default.prop and change the line ro.secure=1 to ro.secure=0
that's basically all there is to it. Lets hope we can cleanly extract the contents of that file shall we
Already tried that as well bud just shows me a log file and thats it.
Need to rename it to use uniextract but nothing is accepted it fails on all
I litterly have no idea how we get the image file short of jtagging it!
how did they get it for the arc?

well I'll just have to look at it then
shouldn't need jtagging, might be able to get an unsecure x10/or arc boot.img to boot enough to pull the info we need, but I don't want to even start messing with that junk yet
was this before or after the source for the arc was released?

they might have just compiled from source.... sadly, the play doesn't have it's source out yet

Decrypted SEUS firmware. System.sin extracted from .zip and converted to .img using sin2img.

If you go to "downloads" on top of that page, the sourecode for Gingerbread Xperia (Arc AND Play) are there, the one you link is not Arc. Seems all Xperia (new) is compiled from same source.

well I'll just have to look at it then
shouldn't need jtagging, might be able to get an unsecure x10/or arc boot.img to boot enough to pull the info we need, but I don't want to even start messing with that junk yet
was this before or after the source for the arc was released?

they might have just compiled from source.... sadly, the play doesn't have it's source out yet
EDIT:x10/ or arc
