[Q] Enable Videoplayer when battery is low? - Epic 4G General

is there any way to do this?

I have estrongs file explorer installed, so when I select a video to play I get a choice to use es player or stock player. Es player works below 15%. Also, camera magic works below 15% if you need to take a quick pic with low bat. Hope this helps.

use mvideoplayer. It's a hardware accelerated player just like the stock one, except it also supports subtitles.

Thanks for the info I will try that.

Any way to do this without using different apps? There's gotta be a hack that disables this limitation.

Stock video player vs RockPlayer/VPlayer

Hey guys, I'm wondering... I can pretty much play everything with the stock Samsung video player, even 720p MKVs (would that be due to hardware H264 acceleration on the Hummingbird?), but I've been thinking... those other players, like VPlayer and RockPlayer seem pretty popular. Are they any better in quality, compatibility or take a lighter hit on battery? Are they worth my time and money?
I believe they just give you more options like playlists and such. I personally have never found any need to download a third party player to date.
Pretty sure those exist because most android phones do not have the codec support the vibrant has out of the box. I haven't felt the need to get it.
mVideoplayer is the best third-party app among the bunch imho. It has playlist options, slide finger across the screen to forward/rewind instead of steady press on a button and such. Tap on one side to bring up volume rocker, tap on the other side for brightness settings, and on another for bookmarking a scene. Plus it remembers the scene from which you stopped watching on each and every video you have - which the native video player does only for the current video you are watching
And one more thing, it has better zoom options than the stock player. Some videos i downloaded via youtube play full screen where the native player only plays it with a letter-box.
I prefer the QQplayer: support also avi-files and srt-files
MoboPlayer is the best!

My stock player plays them just fine...
Any player that will work with files having 6 channel audio? I could never find one.
Mobo is king of players, if it can't do it none can.

stock browser downloads and video playback

Not sure if it's just me or not but I'm having a lot of issues with downloading files over the air using the stock browser. Files whether they be apk's,zip, rar or mp3 rarely download successfully. I always have to use firefox browser for the downloads to complete. is anyone else having this issue? I have already reverted back to stock kernel to see if that may have been the issue. Also another problem that I been having is a lot of my videos (.mp4) that use to play just fine in the native video player don't play back anymore. I just get a black screen of it trying to load and have to use moboplayer which is fine since moboplayer works great but definitely annoying.

Try accessing the videos using a file-explorer rather than using Gallery, so they start that way. Gallery can be a bit picky every now and then, especially if you move your files around a bit.
I have the same problem, it seems to me that direct links to file work ok (no matter what the file type is), but links with redirects don't work (it downloads the redirecting page not the file).

Rotating .MP4 videos to landscape/fullscreen

When playing back an MP4 file stored locally (or streamed from my network) I can only get the video to play in portrait mode (pretty small). Is there any way I can rotate the playback to landscape and have it fill the screen? I've tried the ES Media Player and the default media player but can't seem to rotate the damn thing. Transformers obviously works in landscape mode, so why won't my MP4s?
I've been searching for a simple solution to this problem but it would appear there isn't one. I haven't tried Ultimate Rotation App because I've read there were a host of other problems with it causing videos to skip and I'm not sure it would do what I need anyway. Is there a native solution, or a better media player that will play my MP4s in landscape/full screen mode?
The particular MP4 I'm testing is x264 and less than 720P.
Thanks in advance.
Mx player works great

This is actually very simple and doesn't require downloading anything at all. From any of the main menu pages swipe down from the top right corner and tap the "auto rotate" in the center of the pull down menu and unlock it. The device makers thought that the rotate function should be locked by default on most main pages except the provided movie player.

Not able to stream media thru es file explorer after ICS upgrade

Recently upgraded to ICS. I have been able to stream media from my laptop thru Wi-Fi using ES file explorer when I was with honeycomb. I was u sing dice player and vplayer without any issues. Now whenever I try to stream media, dice player notifies me that the media is not supported and vplayer force closes. Anyone having similar problem? Any workaround for this problem?
I'm using baseband version p6800xxlpw.

Working fine here using BS player free in lan mode @1080p off nas on LQ1. Vplayer is a bit laggy with the same video. You might want to clear program settings and cache or give BS player a go.
Tried BS player and it worked absolutely fine. Now, what I'm at a loss here is that I can still stream audio MP3 files thru es file explorer and play it thru player pro. But for the life of me, I can't stream any video files. BS player also can't play the video files thru es file explorer even though it can do so on it's own.

Probably some settings or config issues. Videos are playing ok here off es file explorer.

Question. How to link BS player with streaming video on Google Chrome or FIrefox

Guys/girls I need help on this one.
Before Xperia SP I had Galaxy Ace. On Ace, I go to some webpage that contains video. When I press video after a while phone/android asks for me which player I want to use. More like this -> Android Phone - BS Player
Now, on Xperia I do not have such an option. But I would like Xperia or Android to behave in such manner so I can watch "streaming" videos throughout BS Player.
I want to do this, because of the controls and that video can go full screen.
Any help on this?
Phone is rooted....of course
What video player is being used..... Check in settings/apps see if video player is set to default if it is clear the default setting.
When video is about to play you might get option to play with bsplayer.
I use MX player mostly it is used as default but not always sometimes the stock video player is used.
This may or may not work and you may find the option is not set, in that car sorry can't help any further.

Well, this is how it looks. No matter if I use GChrome or Firefox, when I press on video that contains mp4 file, GChrome or Firefox start playing that file internally throughout themselves. There is no popup "Complete action using" like it was on Ace.
Default app for BS Player is grayed out, which makes it not default.
Look at stock video player is that set to default? Only asking... I got nothing else to suggest

I do not know what stock video player is. By that I mean, how default player is called? I cannot find it in Settings/Apps/All
I have just noticed when in settings/app there is option to reset app preferences... Try that. Hope it helps.

Nope it doesn't work. Still the same problem.
Disable movies via settings > Apps > All > Video's/movies > Disable
Reboot phone and open video you want to stream via BS Player and try again. Sometimes this works.

Still same, just this time video won't play. It just starts internal video screen with controls, but no video is played or even loaded.
