Humble request for ROM chefs. - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I am extremely appreciative of all the great strides you Chefs are making in updating builds, however, there is often no option to download a non-themed version of the aforementioned builds. If it isn't too much to ask, is there any way you could include instructions on how to return the build to a stock look or an alternate download for a stock version of the build? I hope I don't get flamed and apologize if I am asking too much. Otherwise, keep up the good work in keeping our HD2s as a large presence in the smartphone world!

There are plenty of *stock* builds in the android development section, you just have to search through the forum...
Here is a link to one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793924, I literally just opend up the forum and looked at the first build and there you go... A stock build.

I am very aware of this, I am referring more to the chefs that theme a previously stock in appearance build, but don't leave the option of downloading the stock version of the build after they update it .
I should have been more specific, I suppose, however, seeing as this was a humble request for developers, the question doesn't pertain to you anyways.

And like I said there are plenty of stock builds out there. A stock build is a stock build regardless of who it comes from. The Devs do enough already.

[Q] Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Beta Rom

I stumbled upon an article linking to a download to the Gingerbread "beta" for Evo and I'm wondering:
What would happen to my current roms if I actually flashed the update? (using CM 6 and Fresh 3.4.0.1)
Is there potential to completely brick the phone to the point I won't even be able to get into the recovery to get back to a functional rom?
Its not beta. More like a "dev only" or alpha. Its in the dev forum. It wont brick your phone but It could give you some headaches if your new at flashing roms.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
it is very choppy on my phone, like 5fps choppy.
but text and web browsing worked, along with the market.
however couldn't check gmail, id click on the email and it'd open than go back to the menu right away
Is the flashing process any different than simply selecting the .zip file from clockwork, or do I need to name it update or PC36IMG?
or would it be similar to the headaches received from not wiping the data and cache to load CM 6.1 "stable"?
What exactly are you hoping to accomplish any way? The rom is purely in developmental stages right now and should in no way be used as your primary rom. It's literally going to suck. Performance is NOT there right now. Given the questions you're asking in this thread it's highly unlikely you're going to be loading this rom and helping to improve it by developing it further...
a 2.3 based rom for the Evo intended for the "end user" is likely not going to be ready for you until the source is released for 2.3.
I just saw this posted, not sure if it could be of any help to those that "were" working on the sdk port. I say were because the thread was just closed.

You are mistaken at what that rom is. It is a froyo rom for the Droid X with the gingerbread keyboard and theme.
The numbering convention for the Droid X firmwares just happen to be at 2.3.x right now which is probably confusing you. If you actually go the thread dedicated to that rom you will see: http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/d...x-1-3-0-droid-x-running-running-fast-can.html

What was/is mis-leading is they are calling it "unofficial Gingerbread port" when they should have called it a rom with a ported theme & keyboard. They never mentioned the version # so I wasn't looking at that. Thanks for the clarification. ... Android Central>
That is a very mis-leading title.

Since we have a thread where the latest Radio ROMs are available,
would not be a thread about all shipped roms good too
and could gather there?

For this to work you'd need the approval of each rom chef. Plus you'd update thread with each new release?
Sent from a little black thing with flashy lights....oooh its a phone!!!
Hm,thought maybe a dev or mod can make this possible.
Because saw this at few other device sections.
Approval from ROM chef?
I mean collecting all/or most original shipped ROMs (RUU.exe)

Think he means all OEM ROMs, like all of these Stock Z ROMs that're being posted, and any/all g2 AOSP Stock ROMs, straight from the manufacturers.
Jep,right.
I know about "shipped rom" site, but only some ROMs there
Knock your socks off if you wanna dig through all this threads to collect them into a thread you create.
I'm not familiar with Desire rom or else i would
Or post it in the pinned radios roms etc thread and i'll find a way to get it into post 2 with you as the poster

Hey all. Been a while since my last release of anything, which was sense based, but I really wanted to start learning android and have a better perspective of it. I decided to dig a bit more into compiling android. Started horsing around with github and learned to start compiling my own builds from aosp wih the help from cmsrc, evervolv, and a few others githubs. Since the release of gingerbread to aosp, i moved away from sense. There are things that i do miss about sense, but the usability of the phone without it is just unmatched imho. Many people use or have used cyanogenmod. IMHO is a great open source project that has some of the best devs out there. I have always been more into the 'vanilla' look opposed to the themed and aftermarket. Recently i have been compiling gingerbread for the evo and mt4g and have had nothing but the best reviews. Basically the reason why i am here. Wondering if there was any interest in a few of my builds. Main reason from moving away from CM6/7 (cyanogenmod), ADW launcher and the extra added bloat(sorry) and themes. Battery life will always be one of my main concerns. Everything should work!

1.3 build is based off 2.3.7. (Thanks cm team) and cm kernel 2.6.35.7 (thanks cm team).
1.2.1 build is based off 2.3.4. (Thanks cm team) and cm kernel 2.6.35.7 (thanks cm team).

the new cm7 nightly has this bug too.

No one has made a rom with Android GB Version 2.3.3 (Desire HD Build) with sense 2.1

I have searched the whole forum. Not even a single developer had ever made a Desire HD based Android 2.3.3 GB Rom with sense 2.1. All the developers have done it with sense 3 which is ofcourse still buggy.
My request to CMYLXGO:
Please make the above mentioned rom. I love your roms.
Would be obliged.
I fully agree!
You're going to get so much crap for this. You're in the wrong section, and there is a reason that devs dont cook that ROM. There are better out there.

I don't know which forum you've serched but clearly not this one! If dungph, sbryan12144, Krendelrus, Sergio76, imilka didn't made GB Sense 2.1 based on DesireHD then I don't know what they did - how you could missed those roms? Before you post such crap, please rethink 10 times.
Next, who do you think you are, to post new thread here (in Development section) and demand a rom from people? Do you know how much work is needed to create a rom?

[COMPILATION][DAILY]YOUR HTC HD2 Android NAND ROMs Organized

Hello there xda bros and gals,
First I want to say thanks and congratulate all you guys for making the HTC HD2 the most “developed” phone on earth, period. ONE phone that can go across FIVE different operating platforms!? That’s crazy! And do you know how many customized ROMs are there just for Android NAND? ….....Over 140 and still counting!
This goes to show how much we love to tweak and mod our devices. Why should we restrict ourselves with a stock interface, or a stock ROM, or just one operating system? (amiright, Iphone fan boys? )
Having more options and choices is great, but it could get tricky when you want to choose the “best” rom out there. And we all have our unique preferences, from Sense to MIUI to CyanMods, to Gingerbread or Icecream Sandwich, to how much free memory we need, to how smooth/fast or how stable, to softkeys or no softkeys...etc. You get the picture.
I basically made a more organized collage of our favourite roms for the HD2 (nand android for now). Having them more organized makes it easier for us to choose which one we like.
If the devs are the cooks, I am bringing you the menu.
**This is a initial release, the descriptions are not all accurate and serve only as a reference, go to the specific rom thread for detail features/setup.
LINK ----------->>>>>>[Google Docs Spreadsheet] XDA-DEVELOPERS HTC HD2 ANDROID NAND ROMS<<<<<------------
Check out my brand new website! I made it easy to browse and find our favorite htc hd2 roms with pretty screenshots!
LINK ----------->>>>>>[HTML WEB] LIST OF XDA-DEVELOPERS HTC HD2 ANDROID NAND ROMS<<<<<------------
Let me explain the format a bit:
All the features all sorted in a arbitrary priority list for a easy viewing.
If a feature gets a " - ", it means the feature is unavailable or the developer didn't mention it.
Working features get a "1", a buggy feature gets a "1.5" and a non-functional feature gets a "2".
Discontinued roms get a "2" for the "State", and "1.5" if there are no updates for 2 months.
Roms with no issues get a "1" for "stable",
Roms with small issues get a "1.5" for "daily-use",
Roms with major features not working get a "2" for "in-dev".
I have been lurking and "testing/using" a lot of these nand roms for a long time now. I have sorted some of them according to my own experience, but for most of them, I just went along with whatever the dev mentioned on the main rom thread. ( and sometimes I get lazy )
This is a community project, so any help in making the list more accurate is strongly appreciated. If you are interested in editing the list, just tell the details in this thread, or simply pm me your email, I will give you the privilege to work with the spreadsheet right in your own Google docs.
and oh yeah... tell me if you want to add a feature that you think should be mentioned. ( maybe quadrant scores to indicate "smoothness"??)
self bump
self bump, just in case
I am adding more roms to the list everyday,,, takes time you know,,,, there are 100 more roms buried in the threads...
and I am currently organizing a project that will make sorting these roms even easier,,, with pretty screenshots...
and maybe a app afterwards... since everybody is making apps now...
/--Changelog--/

Took more time to get a search bar running on the website, now you can search keywords like "tytung" or "desire"
Updated and added few more roms:
datadrop Desire Froyo
smokin901 MIUI.us
feloccio Sense 2.1 Lite
We appreciate your hard work
But if I were in your shoes, I'd have organized rom according to their genres .
I mean, Sense 3.5 Gingerbread, Sense 3.0 GB, ICS AOSP, ICS CM9 and so on.
One more thing, people hate download-required things . Trust me, they do. So it'd be much more easier if it were online (read only and can't be downloaded(Ofc you can make them editable )).
Again, those are just opinions. It is up to you whether you take them into consideration or not
Thanks for the advice,,,, I totally get what you are saying
But I was in a little dilemma myself... html view for Google docs doesn't freeze the columns or rows... so it kindda a mess to look at.
I thought it might be better if they just downloaded it, and sort it however they want.
