Can anyone tell me where bookmarks are stored? No matter what setup I use (ota2.2 is only one I haven't tried) after a few days running good my bookmarks force close. In any browser our app that accesses them. Have tried using fix permissions in rom manager. Tried restoring a backup of all apps except stock browser (don't want constant sync iconand not sure if it will do that). have erased and formatted and reinstalled everything from scratch. Formatted sd card. I'd I install a new browser say dolphin bookmarks will work for a day or so then do the same thing. Any advice is appreciated

Well I think my problem is one of my bookmarks itself. I downloaded an app called "bookmarkymark" and after my bookmarks started crashing apps I started this app which showed me all my bookmarks and allowed me to delete them (thats all this app does. delete bookmarks). I started deleting bookmarks one by one and tried to launch my bookmarks until i finally could. When I figured out which site it was I now waited a day and was having no problems. I put that one site back as a bookmark and within an hour of playing with the web and going from bookmark to bookmark it crashed again. I removed it again and it everything works fine.
So Here is my new question. The site in question is a site i created for my family to keep in touch using the cms Drupal. Any ideas why bookmarking this site would somehow crash my browser when i try to view my bookmarks? Has anyone heard of a site bookmark doing this before?

After the Touchwiz update, my bookmarks disappeared and it doesn't look like Google sync is working. Any ideas how to get this to work or some alternative way to syndrome my Google Bookmarks?
Try to clear data/cache for the Browser and Google Bookmarks Sync applications, then set up the sync again in the browser settings.
I still have a problem that not all bookmakrs/folders are synced and sometimes I even get FC errors with NPE in the bookmarks synchronization adapter.
Must be some bookmark that triggers it, but had no chance to isolate it yet.
UPDATE: just checked again and all the bookmarks seem to be in sync now, but the layout of folders has changed, it now starts with:
/Google Chrome/Bookmarks/..., then I can see all my bookmarks from the browser, before all the bookmarks and folders were just in the root folder.
Just found that it was already answered at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204048.
Thanks for the heads up. I had replied on that thread earlier and it got moved and I couldn't find it.
Yeah, I hate the new layout. Why can't they just leave what works alone?!
So when i use new stock browser with navigation controls and go to bookmarks, everything is empty. But when i try to rebuild bookmarks I get a message that says bookmark already in use.
Anyone else getting this?

Not sure if this is exactly the same but on my homescreen I had the bookmarks widget whose outline was visible but the bookmarks themselves were invisible. I had to go into my browser "Settings">"General">"Sync" and apply sync with google chrome account for my bookmarks to reappear.

Yes, I have the same issue. Creating a new bookmark in a folder (bookmarks/test) works, but creating bookmarks in the root (bookmarks/) directory does not work. But if I try to recreate the bookmark, it says it's already there! I also see (doubled) bookmarks on my Chrome on the PC, so sync works...help appreciated!
TW is a bit strange, if you restore or sync bookmarks they end up in "history"
So to restore bookmarks;
Restore
Go to bookmarks/history.
Press the "stars" 2 times and the bookmarks shows up.
Wipe the history to get rid of the double bookmarks.
I had the same issue with bookmarks before this rom for GT10.1"
Here is how I solved it.
1) made a TB of your bookmarks before you flash the new rom...(hope it's not too late for some of you)
2) ensure the bookmarks widget is not on some screen (check to make sure its not hidden somewhere - strangely, I have found this phenomena with widgets on GT10.1" - dunno why)
3) flash your rom, after rebooting, ensure the bookmarks widget is not running/loaded/hidden somewhere.
4) restore your TB bookmarks - it will replace what is there/missing/ 'appear to be there'
Hope this helps. Works for me everytime(but sometimes between android release changes, it can be tricky. Then I combine my restore effort with 'my backup pro' and running the two apps restores in different sequenses, get the trick done.

I tried it, but it didn't work. But now, after cleaning the history I'm able to manually create bookmarks in the bookmarks/ root directory (which I wasn't before). But now they don't sync to my PC / Chrome anymore. However, I get very frequent FC on com.google.process.gapps. According to the stacktrace in the failure report this has something to do with the chrome bookmarks sync. So no surprise the sync doesn't work anymore. Anyone else having sync and/or bookmarks trouble?
Edit: I cleared the browsers chace, history and cookies and reset it to default (settings - advanced - reset defaults). After this, creating bookmarks works fine (with touching the star) as it should, but I still get the FC on Google Chrome sync...working on it..
Go to app management and clear the browser's cache, force stop it, clear all defaults...pretty much wipe the app clean. Then start the browser and go into settings and make it sync bookmarks with chrome. They eventually show up...whenever it decides to sync.

I was able to get it to work make sure both are logged in to your Google account, which I'm sure you did.
You are using the browser that came with the rom correct?

Try disabling the ad blocker using the zip from tasks thread.

Yes, the browser is the same. Have tried both suggestions, no luck so far.. When I untick an retick the synk the circular icon turns a couple of seconds then stops.. No probems with the other syncs, just browser. Annoying without my bookmarks :-(
Problem solved!
The bookmarks where suddenly synced after a couple of hours.
I believe the adblock remove did the trick..
Thanks for the help guys
I'm having the same problem but mine is force closing gapps when I shut off the bookmark sync it doesn't do it anymore but I would

The galaxy task rom uses the browser form the ZOOM tablet as it looks a lot better, if you want original browser you can find the system apk (these dont install like normal but go in a system folder and load at boot up) and you cna try the stock browser. You can sync your memo's as well if you go into the memo app, veyr handy for saving data.
Hi all,
I have a strange problem concerning the syncing of my bookmarks in the stock browser. For a while I have been syncing my bookmarks with my google account and I have restored them a couple of times. I even restored them yesterday when I changed from TF101 to Padfone... The bookmarks worked today. But this afternoon I did a hard reset and logged in on my Google account. But now I don't have an option to save my bookmarks under my Google account (so I couldn't restore them either). I only see my local bookmarks. I tried logging in into the Google Dashboard and deleting all Chrome bookmarks, but that didn't bring back the option to save my new bookmarks under my Google acount in the stock browser. Can anyone help me?

I have the same issue; my windows chrome bookmarks no longer appear on my ICS TF101 chrome. No fix that I know of, yet. If I find one, I'll post.
Mine works just fine. But maybe you could try reinstall the gapps package. And make sure to check the bookmark syc.
Just a thought.

I am using chrome, and I forgot to enable synch'ing in chrome. The tablet was set up, through settings, to synch email, and I thought that was all I needed to do. Maybe the stock browser has a similar setting that you can toggle.
Patrick
I found the reason. Asus decided to remove the option from the newest firmware (it's for my PadFone, so that's why TF101 has no problems with syncing).
Thanks for the ideas and help guys!
I just got a Galaxy Note 10.1 a few days ago and I am overall pleased with it. But I am trying to sync my bookmarks but the internal browser never finishes the sync, it just kind of hangs there. I successfully synced the Chrome Browser, but the built in one just won't complete. When I load it up a good portion of the bookmarks are missing, It does seem to have created all the folders and subfolders of the bookmarks menus though. Anyone else ever have a similar problem that knows how to get sync to successfully complete? So far I have wiped the data with application manager a couple of times now, but so far it always never completely finishes the sync.
On a related note, since chrome successfully synced the bookmarks, is there a way to get the bookmarks to go from the android chrome browser to the built in one without using the google sync? That would also be an alternative, or maybe importing the bookmarks.html file I exported from firefox? I can't believe it's coming up on 2013 and these mobile browsers can't simply import bookmarks manually from a .html file on a sdcard.
Also FYI, if your settings are set to encrypt all data for your google account, the chrome browser syncs fine, but the built in browser fails to import any of the bookmarks. It gives an error message that something is wrong with sync and to try later.
Update:
Well it seems it did complete the sync sometime during the night. I checked this morning and all the bookmarks showed up in the internal browser. Strangely though every directory was duplicated, for example I had 2 "Forums" folders, one empty, one with all my links. I had to manually delete all the incomplete or empty bookmark directories. I am not sure how it got fixed, I didn't do a thing.
