I currently have a hero and I'm ready to upgrade to either the epic or the evo. I really like the sense widgets and I was wondering what widgets touchwiz has to offer that are similar to the sense widgets. Screenshots would be great. Thanks.
The Sense widgets are god awful. There's a Friendstream-esque app, and a buddy app for contact management, but the calendar and weather apps blow. I'd suggest FancyWidget (search here for the download link) for the clock/weather replacement, along with Pure Grid calendar.
I use the LauncherPro widgets for contacts and messages, and then Beautiful Widgets for weather and clock. These work pretty good for me don't drain battery like crazy

I went through this same exercise when I had my Hero and was debating the EVO and the Epic. I bought the EVO for the wife and the Epic for me and it took about a half a day of trial and error to put the best features of Sense widgets on the Epic and to even improve the widgets with all that Sense doesn't offer. The truth of the matter is this:
There's no longer a need to purchase a single manufacturer because of the widgets they include with their UI skin.
The Android Market is full of Widgets and Launchers that are capable of recreating any manufacturers UI, some free, some with a charge, but usually it can all be recreated for under $10.
Buy a phone because of it's network and hardware, not the UI.

Well, you can search for beautiful widgets, awesome application. But the clock he's talking about is found when searched for "digital clock". Look for the highest rating, I believe that's how i found it. I use the same clock also.
There's a clock widget that's almost just like HTC flip clock, just search the market for "retro flip clock".
I don't know if anybody does a plain, skinnable clock without the weather attached to it.

I have the battery status widget but I am looking for the other two. The bigger concern is the weather widget. I REALLY want that widget and have had no luck finding it.

Don't know about that particular weather widget but Fancy Widget combines a clock and weather widget.

I have beautiful widgets but I want JUST that weather widget to move around.
The weather one is "Weather Forecast Widgets v2." You'll need to pay to get the skin + transparency shown in the above screenshot.
The clock is "Digital Clock Widget" and is free.
and, in case someone searches or comes upon this thread;
The battery widget is: "battstatt" and free as well.

For some ****ing reason my 3d gallery (that i never really liked in the first place) stopped working with picture frames on the homescreen. No Bueno.
After hours of searching on multiple forums i found out titanium backup would remove the 3d gallery since u cant just uninstall it...
than i just ripped a gallery.apk out of an older ROM and voilah.
2D gallery on sense froyo= happy buddha.

I've asked this question before but I'm looking for a Launcher alternative. Back in 1995 there was a PC operating system competing with Windows. I think it was called Xerox Tabs, but I cannot confirm that.
The home screen looked like a Franklin Daily Planner with Tabs on the side.
I'd like an Android launcher like that. I'd like to be able to customize the tabs, what opens each time you click the tab, and the over all appearance of the launcher.
I've seen something similar called Opus Dimini in iPad, but it's not a launcher. I've also used this:

But it's not exactly what I'm looking for. I think we would need more than just a theme, but really a launcher with pages that flip, and you can display anything from widgets to icons and folders.
Is anyone up to this? Or know of something that would work?

I think that Total Launcher can do what you want. I've made and use a similar theme with tabs:

Total launcher is the only launcher which let you completely change the look and functionality of home screen.
Is it just me who noticed this? For me this looks ugly

I don't really have an opinion either way. I see why it might upset some people, for naturally square icons like Gmail it looks funny but I think the round maps icon is cool and chrome has always been round!
This is not news to me either.
If it annoys me too much (and I do not think it will), I could always use a 3rd party launcher and an icon pack.

Assistant is part of the nav bar so you won't even lose that.
pixel launcher is not appealing to me at all either
Honestly i think its slicker and cleaner the google launcher so +1 for me also who actually uses stock launchers anyway.
